Chapter 706: Chapter 704: Want to see my wife [Part 1]

"Third brother, you better do it yourself! Otherwise, everyone’s not going to let you see your bride." Hudson Moore handed the wireless microphone to Liam Spencer, who pursed his lips and chuckled, not knowing how to start.

He had rarely sung since he was a child, and especially after growing up, he almost never sang. Singing was really harder than climbing the sky for him.

After a brief laugh, he looked through the crowd toward the bedroom with the microphone, and asked, "Maya, do you want to hear third brother sing? I’ll sing for you alone when I take you home, how about that?"

Maya Spencer sat on the bed, completely still, hiding under the red bridal veil, grinning from ear to ear.

Then, the makeup artist handed her a microphone, and Maya, in a sweet and tender voice, said, "Third brother, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you sing, just sing one song!"

Listening to Maya’s request, Liam’s smile grew even more brilliant, thinking, this little creature doesn’t help him out, so tonight he’ll have a good talk with her.

He cleared his throat: "What song does Maya want to hear third brother sing?"

Wanting to bring his bride home, Liam decided to go all out. Having not sung a single song for over ten years, he was breaking the rule today.

Inside the room, without thinking, Maya replied, "Sing my favorite ’Love in a Daughter’!"

"Pfft..." As soon as Maya spoke, everyone laughed, thinking this quirky couple was too adorable, actually singing this song at the wedding, though Liam’s role wasn’t quite fitting as the Holy Monk!

"Maya, how about we sing it together?" Liam often heard Maya humming this song at home. With her joining him, he wouldn’t be so nervous.

"Uh-huh!" Maya nodded inside the room.

"Christopher, have the band get ready." Liam was fully prepared for today’s wedding, with a band on standby.

Actually, Liam had anticipated everyone giving him a hard time about singing; these days, he hid away at home listening to ’Love in a Daughter’ countless times.

In the days when Maya wasn’t home, he even secretly practiced singing it, thinking his singing was quite good.

When the music started, Maya gently began singing into the microphone, and Liam joined her.

"Mandarin ducks rest together, butterflies fly in pairs."

"The whole garden’s spring colors make one drunk."

"Quietly ask the Holy Monk, is the daughter beautiful?"

"Is the daughter beautiful?"

"Speak not of royal wealth and noble status."

"Fear not the precepts and rules."

"Only wish for everlasting love."

"To be closely followed by my beloved."

"To love her, to love her."

"Wishing to be together always today."

Maya’s voice was sweet, Liam’s was deep and magnetic. Though neither was an outstanding singer, their harmonization was particularly pleasant, captivating listeners.

Who cares about royal power and wealth, or about precepts and rules? Only wish for everlasting love and to always be with the one you love; there was no song more fitting to today’s ambiance, and even more importantly, mirroring Liam and Maya’s heartfelt feelings.

"Third brother, turns out you’re not bad at singing! From now on at KTV, don’t hide anymore."

"Young Master Liam, you’re so handsome, your singing was wonderful, sing another one." The girls started teasing again.

Seeing this, Liam, with a broad smile, handed the microphone to Christopher and said in high spirits, "Alright, stop teasing! I’ll sing other songs to my wife tonight. If you want to hear me sing, wait for my concert and cheer me on."

Today Liam was completely relaxed, granting everyone’s requests, a far cry from his usual cold demeanor.

Inside the bedroom, Maya handed the microphone to the makeup artist, unable to restrain the urge to see Liam, wanting desperately to rush out and embrace him tightly.

But, Josiah Bennett was standing by, reminding her of all sorts of rules and stopping her from acting out.

Outside the window, Liam, looking at the girls in the room, threw out handfuls of red envelopes and asked, "Ladies, I’ve sung a song, isn’t it time to make way for me to go see my wife?"

"Young Master Liam, did you think seeing your wife would be that easy? There are still questions you need to answer!"

"If you’ve got tricks, bring them on, I’m already itching to see my wife."

Inside the room, listening to Liam’s yearning, Maya chuckled happily. She really liked this wedding today, so lively and interesting; the most surprising thing was how lively Liam could be.

Sophia Bennett, seeing Liam’s bravado, immediately pulled out a piece of paper from her pocket and looked at Liam with a mischievous smile.

Liam, witnessing her wicked grin, took a deep breath, threatening, "Sophia, you’re getting married in two months, I’ll make sure to give you a good run for your money on your wedding night."

"Hah! I’m not afraid, you’d better think about how to get through tonight first!"

Then, Sophia coughed twice and said, "Come on, let’s get to answering the questions."

"Bring it on." Liam appeared serious on the outside but was inwardly delighted.

"Liam, after marriage, who will manage the household finances?"

"My wife, Maya!"

"Whose opinion will be followed for household decisions?"

"My wife, Maya!"

"Who does the housework?"

"My wife..., no no no, the housework is all on me, all on me." Liam caught himself mid-sentence, realizing Sophia was setting him up, but he was quick to react and corrected himself just in time.

His timely correction drew roaring laughter from everyone.

"Lucky you’re quick on your feet," Sophia said with a smile.

After that, everyone kept teasing for a long time, Maya waiting until she was blue in the face, listening to Liam’s voice but unable to see him, it was sheer torture.

As she was about to sneak out of bed, Mother Bennett pinned her down, reminding, "Maya, don’t act out, teasing Liam is for good luck."

Finally, after Liam threw another wave of red envelopes, everyone opened the door, and the window was also cleared away.

Liam, being his quirky self, didn’t take the main door but climbed in through the window. As a result, the wedding party all followed him in through the window.

But, the girls had already linked arms to block the sliding door to the bedroom.

Liam was both amused and exasperated, standing with hands on his hips: "Got more tricks up your sleeves?"

"Of course, we have to think about Maya’s happiness... How can we let you through without testing your capabilities?" Sophia’s tricks were sneaky as always, while Christopher was at his wit’s end, thinking, in two months, Maya would definitely return the favor to him tenfold.

Liam frowned deeply, asking skeptically, "You want to test me? As long as Maya doesn’t beg for mercy, it’s all good, now you want to test my abilities."

"Absolutely necessary!"

As Sophia spoke, she placed a photo of Maya on the ground, saying, "Come on, 30 push-ups, with each push-up needing a kiss to Maya, or it doesn’t count."

"Christopher, your wife sure has a lot of tricks!" Liam was genuinely impressed by Sophia.

"Third brother, your wife won’t be any less! I’ve been mentally preparing myself." Christopher thought about his upcoming wedding, and his brain ached.

After the two muttered to each other, Liam started doing push-ups on the ground.

Before he even began, Sophia said, "Seven, sit on Liam’s back. If he can’t even carry you, how can we expect him to satisfy Maya?"

"..." Liam was speechless, thinking, when has he not satisfied the little thing?

"Alrighty!" Seven Murray, upon receiving the order, unceremoniously sat on Liam’s back, clutching at his clothes with both hands, legs lifted off the ground.
