Chapter 600: Nova Technologies Marks Six Months
After more than two hours, it was time for everyone to start going back home. They all walked back to the deck, chatting causally with each other. And even Yanxia wasn’t left out.
"Matt, work on the space shuttle will be finished soon. Within the next two weeks. Lucy will contact you on how you will receive it," Liam said, as they reached the deck.
"Sweet! I can’t wait!" Matt smiled from ear to ear, rubbing his hand excitedly.
"We all know that you’re excited but don’t cause a scene with it. I will deny ever knowing you if you trend because of the space shuttle," Kristopher said, and the others nodded.
"Come on, guys. Do you not trust me?" Matt asked, looking offended.
The group looked at him intently, choosing not to say anything, but the looks they gave him said everything that was needed to be said. freёwebnovel.com
"Tsk. What a jealous bunch," Matt frowned.
"Don’t worry, Matt. If anyone tries to take the space shuttle thing from you, just tell me and I will fight them," Yanxia said sweetly, causing Matt to melt.
"Thank you, Yanxia. You’re the only one that truly care about me," Matt said, with a smile on his face.
"Such shamelessness," the group muttered unanimously.
"Ok. I will see you guys, later," Liam, who had been watching the entire interaction with a small smile, said.
"See you later, Liam," Kristopher said.
"See you later, Liam," the rest said.
"Let’s go, Yanxia," Liam said, and Yanxia walked to him.
She held Liam’s arm and the two of them floated up slowly, but Kristopher’s words made them pause.
"Liam, there will be a party next week and I would love you to come," he said.
"Sure. Just text me the time and address," Liam said.
"No problem then," Kristopher said.
Liam gave a nod, before turning and flying away with Yanxia at his side.
"Your friends are really fun, Papa," Yanxia said, after they had flown quite a distance.
"Yeah, they are," Liam smiled.
"I like that Stacy girl. And Lana too. Do you like them? Are you going to make them your Dao Companion or any of them?" Yanxia asked.
Liam was surprised by the question but he wasn’t fazed by it.
"I like them but simply as friends. Not enough to make them my Dao Companion," he said.
"Why, Papa? Do you have someone in mind already?"
"Not really. It’s just that I haven’t really given myself time to feel such emotion."
"But that shouldn’t be so, Papa. You need to find a Dao Companion fast. It’s something of high importance. I will definitely talk to Aunt Lucy about it."
Liam halted for a moment in shock, as he processed what he just heard. He looked at Yanxia, who was currently looking at with a serious expression on her face, and he knew that she wasn’t joking, and that she probably won’t give up until she succeeds.
He smiled for a moment, as he thought about it, then he spoke.
"Ok, then."
"Better. Even if you had refused, I wouldn’t had listened," Yanxia said.
Liam made a face that said, I figured already.
The two of them continued flying, making their way back to the mansion.
The following days went by uneventfully, with Liam taking Yanxia out to fly around the Earth and also take her to experience life on Earth.
He took her shopping at Lana’s mother store where they bought only a few clothes, because Yanxia wasn’t satisfied with what she was seeing.
At the end of the day, she spoke to Lucy about it, and the advice she got was that she should design the dresses however she wants it, that it will be made for her in the industrial hub.
Yanxia took the advice and designed three dresses that night and Lucy brought them to her the next morning.
During one of Liam and Yanxia’s outing, a rather unremarkable situation happened where she was approached by a man, who tried to woo her.
Liam was standing beside her and he let quiet, as he watched how she would handle the situation. She did as he had expected, as only a single glance from her bathed the man in cold sweat.
Though the man and his guards had no idea what happened, but Liam saw how Yanxia had put the man in an illusion where he was being burnt.
It brought a smile to his face and he bought a bucket of ice cream for her.
As time passed, so did the volunteers’ recovery progress become even more apparent.
All 100 volunteers had started making massive progress in their recovery. This was even more visible in the first five batch of arrivals, as even those with neurodegenerative conditions have seen a minimum of 95% progress.
It’s been more than two months since the clinical trial started and another pre-order event night was here.
But tonight’s was going to be special because it marks six months for Nova Technologies and it’s also the night that the long awaited Lucid Studio would be launched.
Everyone were waiting for two announcements tonight. One was for the Transparency Report. They all were curious about what Nova Technologies’ revenue for the sixth month looks like.
The data would help analysts around the world in modelling the annuall revenue for the company. Not that it was necessary, as Nova Technologies was breaking boundaries with each product and services launched.
The second announcement was for the Lucid Studio. Everyone was increasingly curious about this service that would be able to do.
The tease announcement that was released three months ago said nothing about a product that could potentially replace the entirety of Hollywood and filmmaking.
Everyone were also curious about the terms of usage for the product, and they intend to scrutinise it for so many reasons.
The want to know if Nova Technologies has taken the possible legal battles that the service could create, into consideration.
They expect the service to be cheap, as everything related to Nova Technologies is, but they don’t know how cheap.
The time for the pre-order event approached excruciatingly slow. Everyone were hyped for the monthly most impossible lottery event.
Everyone were hoping to get a Lucid but a stock of 10,000 units to 6B was a odd that no miracle can solve.
With the anomalous event that happened last month, the ambitious ones were hoping for both a Lucid and Lucid Air. But the odds of that was even astronomically smaller than that of the first group.
As the time neared, tension started rising as always but everyone did their absolute best to stay calm.
When midnight reached, the pre-order link was posted and the page was refreshed, but it closed instantly.
The internet was filled with discuss, as everyone like after the end of every pre-order event, started expressing their grievances.
Unlike last month, there was no anomalous event of anyone getting lucky with both a Lucid and Lucid Air. It made things easier for them.
After an hour, the Transparency Report went live and there was a brief moment of silence, as everyone absorbed the numbers.
