"Haaaa....Haaa....Haaa.... Cough....Kuk... cough..."
Ray was on his knees wheezing incredibly hard while panting and coughing together.
Water and a few specks of blood were falling from his mouth as he coughed harder with each passing moment.
His mistake?

Hitting his chest repeatedly while coughing, he finally ceased from that and was able to regain his bodily functions back.
His body vibrated for a second before he heaved a breath of relief, then proceeded to lay on his back, only for him to feel water touch his feet and he shot to his feet immediately.
Looking ahead, the dark sea was still flowing and reaching their location.
Feeling dread creeping up his spine, he moved forward and then gently carried Trisha and Chloe, then proceeded to move them meters away from the sea.
He didn’t even bother to check his surroundings or even try to take in his location or whether anything would jump out and attack them.
That was because he didn’t care.
Honestly, at this point and with everything he had been through these past few minutes, Ray would gladly take anything than the damned Kraken again.
At least, he was back on land and could defend himself or possibly escape.
"Thank you, lady luck. Because honestly, there was no way anybody would have survived that just now," he heaved a breath of relief once more, then turned to look at an unconscious Trisha and Chloe.
’Why aren’t they waking up yet?’
«Fool, fool I say. They were in that sea for minutes beyond what a human could take.
Dragged deeper into the sea where the current is stronger than before. I’m sure they must have drank seawater to their fill,» Bruce scolded from the mindspace.
"So? What should I do now?"
Bruce sighed, facepalmed himself, then walked away from the chair. «You are totally hopeless.»
«You need to be gentle on him. In case you have forgotten, he is just fifteen and might have not gone through something like this,»
Elyon butted in as he watched Bruce reach the darker corners of the mindspace and settle there.
Turning towards Ray in the chair, he sighed and then explained.
«You need to guide the air into their lungs. Their lungs are filled with water at the moment. So you need to make them throw that out before they die.»
’Okay? How do I do that?’
Elyon thought for a few seconds as he was trying to see how he was supposed to place it properly.
«Er... I think your world calls it CPR or something like that.»
’CPR?’
Ray lifted a brow, then turned towards the two girls laid on the ground.
The Tribrid had heard of it and had even done practicals back in school.
Honestly, his mind hadn’t gone in that direction because of everything he had been through.
His mind was still in shambles and survival mode.
Then,
’Hang on. I will have to do mouth to mouth for them? Like place my lips on theirs?!’
Elyon scratched his chin, then slowly turned his head to the side and silently muttered,
"Something like that."
Looking back at Trisha for a few seconds, the Tribrid shook his head rigorously.
"Mouth to Mouth with her? This annoying, scary girl?"
Looking back to the sea, Ray shook his head.
"You know what? Just give me the Kraken again. At least my death will be peaceful and swift."
«Oh come on. Just do it already. They don’t have much time left,» Elyon smacked the back of the boy’s head in the mindspace.
"Speaking as if you will be the one who would be iced out on the ground when she wakes up and finds out."

Closing his eyes for a second, he inhaled and exhaled sharply.
"I guess I have no choice. I will have to do this because in order to survive this whole world, I need their expertise."
Crouching down in front of Chloe first, Ray licked his dry lips and then lifted his hands, placing them on her chest while his eyes were closed.
Pressing on the chest hard, he waited, then continuously pressed on her chest before leaning in closer and holding her nose before opening her mouth slightly.
’Ugh...’
Squeezing his eyes tighter, he blew air into the girl’s mouth then transitioned back to pressing her chest.
He did this for a minute before Chloe’s body trembled from the final breath into her mouth.
She drew in a raspy, sharp breath before coughing violently, with water dribbling down her mouth repeatedly.
She wheezed and coughed for a few seconds while her eyes slowly fluttered open.
Not wanting to be caught in that position, he spun around and decided to attend to Trisha next.
’Mehn.... I’m going to be dead today.’
Chloe hadn’t fully regained her senses yet and honestly, Ray prayed she didn’t do so quickly so he wasn’t caught in this position with Trisha.
Doing the same as he did for Chloe to Trisha, he blew into her mouth for a few seconds.

Unfortunately, Ray didn’t know as his eyes were squeezed tightly and he was still blowing into her mouth.
’What the fuck?!’
Trisha was so stunned that she didn’t know how she was supposed to react for several seconds, and when she did, ice quickly encased her hand as she thrust it forward.
Bam! Ray was so engrossed with saving her life he didn’t realize in time when the ice-encased fist crashed into his face, sending his whole body shooting backward for a second before crashing into the ground.

Something cracked beneath his body and tried piercing his flesh, but luckily, his endurance was high, hence it failed.
By this time, Chloe was already sitting up while trying to catch her breath, and she had caught sight of the last few seconds that led to Ray crashing into the ground.
Shooting to her feet, ice daggers immediately materialized into Trisha’s grasp as she glared at the Tribrid who was trying to rise, with her face all reddened from both fury and embarrassment.
