Chapter 303
Ice rapidly crept around the tentacles surrounding Trisha’s hands, and within a few seconds, they were frozen solid.
With a twitch of her fingers, the ice began cracking and a second later, exploded in a rain of frozen shards.
This freed Trisha’s hands, allowing her to slam her ice-encased blade onto the appendages surrounding her legs.
Ice rapidly formed around those limbs and within moments, they shattered too, sending the Kraken into a state of absolute rage.
It growled so terrifyingly loud that the entire sea shuddered from the acoustic force.
’I’m not strong enough to control the whole sea and turn it to ice. But I can at least do these...’
Ray thrust his hands forward lightly, and from his palms, two consecutive strikes of lightning shot into the water.
The moment it did, it became absolute hell for everybody inside the sea.
The water conducted the lightning in all directions, and with it came an electrifying pain that coursed through Ray, Trisha, the unconscious Chloe, and even the Kraken’s massive veins with incredible force.
Trisha and the unconscious Chloe shuddered violently as the voltage coursed through their bodies for a few seconds.
However, the tentacles surrounding Ray’s body immediately slid off as they flared in the sea, violently smashing around and twitching.
Now, Ray was free from the clutches of the monster but had successfully halved the time left for them to be able to breathe.
Looking in Trisha’s direction to see her grinding her teeth harder than before to fight back the pain, he uttered with a blubbing sound,
"Take—Take Chloe and leave here now."
Trisha looked at him for a fraction of a second.
The days they had both spent fighting, eating, and hunting together—though not enough to form an unbreakable bond—had been sufficient to develop a sliver of trust between them.

And since they had fought together, Trisha knew that Ray wasn’t doing this out of pure selflessness or planning to sacrifice himself, but due to the fact that he had a hidden card.
Hence, she swam forward with all her might and grabbed Chloe by the waist while sheathing her sword into its scabbard.
The water beneath her feet rapidly froze and turned into an ice platform, which she slammed hard to shoot forward for a meter before another platform formed beneath her feet, enabling her to continuously jump upward.
The tentacles were not going to allow this to happen.
"Hang on! Toss your sword!" Ray shouted, though his voice was mostly drowned by the heavy water.
Without saying anything nor acting like she even heard, Trisha pulled her sword back out and let it fall into the water while she continuously shot upward with the help of her ice platforms.
’Elyon, I need you to coach me on how to swim now!’
«But one minute is too little for anybody t—»
’Motherfucker, we don’t have all day!’
Hearing this, the celestial nodded and immediately began coaching the boy as he began putting the mental instructions to use.
And surprisingly, he was doing well.
It was probably because of his ’Perfect and Absolute Memory’ capability, though he didn’t have time to process it.
All he knew was that he was moving, and in no time, Trisha’s sword was caught firmly in his hand.
He swung it forward defensively, placing the steel perfectly in place just as the tentacles chasing after the girls smashed into the blade.

His bones vibrated with incredible force, as if they were going to fracture from the sheer weight of the impact.
And due to the immense strength the Kraken packed in each limb, his body was sent shooting backward through the water with rapid velocity.
Trisha was still far from reaching the surface of the sea.
’Come on, you slow, annoying girl. Faster.’
The tentacles swirled around in the current and fired directly toward the escaping girls.

A golden lasso immediately materialized in Ray’s hand, which he proceeded to fling forward.
Within a single second, the glowing energy coiled tightly around the six tentacles shooting toward the girls, binding them completely.
Perfectly curling around the tentacles, Ray tugged with all his might as bubbles shot from his nose and mouth.
Veins bulged across his neck and arms as he pulled with his entire force, dragging the tentacles back.
Enraged, a dozen tentacles shot towards him from the back.

Within a moment, the lasso curled around the dozen tentacles, pinning all of them in place.
From the edge of his perception, Trisha was almost close to the surface, but for some reason, it seemed like she was incredibly slow.
’Is she— oh shoot. She’s losing consciousness.’
Spinning around, he could see more tentacles rushing towards him while those he pinned were struggling against his indestructible lasso.
Grabbing the sword in his hand, he kicked the water and blasted forward to meet the tentacles.
«You fool. You sent your friends out of danger while you are rushing towards it?» Elyon had already lost his patience as frustration bled into his words.
The situation was getting to his nerves.
«You see why everyday of my life I regret ever bonding with this idiot. This is beyond a death sentence.»
Ray shut out the words being said to him as his gaze was focused on the tentacles heading his way.
Looking towards the lasso for a brief second, he dismissed the skill and almost immediately, the freed tentacles rose up and launched towards him.
Now, over twenty tentacles were speeding towards the boy who was rushing towards them, and within a second, Ray’s hands shot into place at the right moment.
The sword snapped in place as the tentacles collided with the katana with immense force.
The sea trembled violently as cracks appeared across the surface of the blade, deepening with each passing moment.
Within a second, the sword couldn’t take it anymore and shattered to pieces.
At the last moment, a spherical barrier appeared around the boy as the tentacles, whose momentum wasn’t slowed down one bit, smashed into the shimmering barrier.
The barrier didn’t even hold for one second as it shattered, with Ray’s body launched backward with lightning speed while the tentacles gave chase.
A smile flashed across his face as his momentum backward was boosted beyond imagination.
Raising his middle finger towards the Kraken, which he couldn’t see anymore, lightning crackled around his hands and immediately, two strikes shot into the water, spreading the voltage in all directions.
Spinning around, Ray kicked the water with all his might and launched upward towards Trisha and Chloe, who were now falling backward.
Within a moment, he grabbed the two unconscious girls by the waist while his face became incredibly pale from holding his breath for too long.
Deep within the sea, a bellowing scream of rage shook the waters as the lightning struck the Kraken, causing it to shudder for a few seconds.
A bright light could be seen overhead and with a final kick, Ray broke through the sea and crashed onto the shore, with the unconscious girls and him tumbling around for a few seconds.
