Chapter 717: Chapter 717: Why?

Melody Thorne’s gaze fell on the blood covering the two people, from their faces to their bodies, everywhere; their clothes looked like they had been torn and clawed.

With a loud "boom," a fire ignited inside the tunnel, and the two doors slammed shut.

"Ugh," Melody’s stomach churned, her face pale.

"Quick, quick, get them to the hospital," Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman rushed forward simultaneously.

Hospital, hallway.

Melody Thorne looked sorrowfully at the man on the hospital bed. He was wearing a hospital gown, his handsome face ashen, his lips blackened. The doctor didn’t tell her what exactly they had been through inside, only reassuring her that their lives weren’t at risk and there were no fatal wounds.

"Melody," Kiki Sutton stood in the hallway.

Melody walked over and closed the door to the ward.

"I’m sorry," Kiki started, "I lied to you. I knew about Hans Montrose wanting you to go to the plant with Jared. Not only did I know, but I also volunteered to let him kidnap me to cooperate with his act. If you’re upset, you can hit me."

"Why?" Melody leaned against the railing. "Are you just like Hans Montrose? Like Ivy? Leaving me? Not liking me? Trying all you can to make me upset?"

"No, it’s not like that, Melody. It’s Hans Montrose. He said this was the last time. If he lost, he would go back to being the old Hans Montrose, the nation’s heartthrob in everyone’s eyes, and not interfere in matters between you and Jared," Kiki explained.

"So I helped him. I don’t want him to end up like Ivy. I want him to get back on his feet, to be like he was before."

Melody remained silent, then suddenly lifted her head and smiled, "Kiki, even after he treated you like that, have you forgiven him? Do you still love him?"

"I don’t love him anymore," Kiki replied swiftly, "I haven’t forgiven him either. I just want him to live a normal life like before."

Melody pointed behind her, where Hans Montrose stood, now dressed in clean clothes.

All the news about Hans Montrose being dead became unusually active because Hans Montrose logged into his own Weibo and posted a message: "Spent some time in the hospital, was indeed sick, but now I’m better and will be discharged today."

Kiki didn’t turn around.

"Have you let go now?" Melody murmured.

"I’ve let go. I thought I loved you, but I can’t compare to Jared. He’s the man best suited for you!"

Hans Montrose put on sunglasses; his team was already here to pick him up. He turned and walked downstairs, outside the hospital, where fans’ screams and cheers could be heard.

All rumors of his death were squashed, and the uproar was all about Hans Montrose’s return. Fans who had attacked Melody Thorne previously also began to apologize to her.

"Ma’am, ma’am," Dr. Mo rushed out of the ward, "Quick, call the Quinn Family. Jared has too many toxins in his body and needs blood. His blood type is rare and extremely hard to find. Quickly get the Quinns over here."

"He needs blood?" Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman both looked grim because, in the Quinn Family, there was only Mrs. Quinn, and the senior Mr. Quinn was too old to do it, and Timmy was too young. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

The only one left was Titus Quinn, but they had lost track of him long ago.

"How is it? Did you get through?"

"No," Harold Chapman shook his head, "Titus Quinn lost contact ages ago. We’re unable to locate him at the moment."
