Chapter 88: Chapter 88 SCP Foundation
"So, you’re an employee of a mysterious organization?" Chen Ze stroked his chin while sitting on the chair. Just moments ago, this idiot was really about to attack him, and then he was directly restrained by the Magic Circle.
As Chen Ze contemplated whether to silence the man, the latter declared himself to be an employee of a mysterious organization, stating that if Chen Ze didn’t release him, his organization would make Chen Ze regret being born in this world.
This piqued Chen Ze’s interest because the other party certainly didn’t look like a person from Earth, at least not like a citizen of Sun Moon City, since the individual was clearly a foreigner.
"Yes, you evil wizard, hurry up and let me go. You have no idea about the organization I’m with!" D-237 regretted his actions dearly. He had thought that with his strong build and muscular body, it would be easy to take down this skinny Asian man who resembled a monkey, but before he could even lift a hand, he was bound by this purple circle of light.
Could this be the mysterious power of the Orient? D-237 looked fearfully at the circles of light around him, feeling as though they were steel, leaving him completely powerless to resist.
"What organization are you with? What do you all do? Why come to my restaurant?" Chen Ze felt it was better to ask for clarity. Although he didn’t perceive any threat from the man, it was still best to be cautious.
"Our organization..." D-237 paused. How could he know what that organization behind him did?
All he did was sign an agreement and was fished out of death row by these people, and then he worked for them for a month to gain his freedom.
But considering the bizarre things he had encountered in the last few days, D-237 thought he might as well spin a yarn.
"Our organization was established by aliens, and we... we control things everyday that can easily destroy the whole Earth!" D-237 declared confidently, with a look of arrogance.
Chen Ze took a deep breath, not because he was scared. To him, this guy was the type with a lower intelligence than the average person.
What surprised Chen Ze was that the man seemed to actually be from Earth, at least Chen Ze was certain he had indeed heard the words "Earth" just now.
Chen Ze became somewhat anxious. If this person really was a human from Earth and there truly was a powerful organization behind him, did that mean his restaurant had been exposed?
"Why did you come to my restaurant?"
"We came to your restaurant... to eat..." D-237 watched as Chen Ze waved a cleaver in front of him, and he swallowed hard.
"I... We were here to investigate a wooden door that appeared out of nowhere, and then I pushed the door and came in..." Under the threat to his life, D-237 still revealed his purpose, though he didn’t mention that he was simply a test subject for the other party, but claimed he was an important research personnel.
"Alright then, you can go back." Chen Ze scratched his head. Although he owned the System, and was the System’s owner, the problem was he really couldn’t control that portal.
It was better to have good relations with a potentially existing mysterious organization rather than any enmity.
"You’re really letting me go?" D-237 was surprised, as he had expected to suffer a bit.
"Or did you plan to stay here and eat? And maybe discuss life with me while you’re at it?" Chen Ze said sarcastically, eyeing the visitor. He really did not wish to entertain such guests.
Watching D-237 run off, Chen Ze tapped the table with one hand, his mood somewhat complex. He was contemplating whether the man’s organization posed any influence on him.
"Forget it, I’m just a chef anyway, how could I be a threat to the world?" Chen Ze shook his head. He always felt that the mysterious organization mentioned by the other party was somewhat similar to a fictional entity he had heard about.
"Doctor, what do you think?" The special forces captain looked at the report submitted by D-237 with hesitation.
"We can’t retrieve any video of entering the Dream Restaurant from the built-in storage of the cameras. We are unable to verify the truthfulness of D-237’s words at the moment. Let’s send another D-class Personnel inside with a different identity," the Doctor said, making a decision while looking at the report in his hands.
Chen Ze looked at the cutting board; he nearly chopped off his own finger a moment ago, and the reason for that was the recent intruder. Chen Ze was now very concerned about his future.
"Whew... I remember my mom said, when you’re irritable, find something that requires focus to calm yourself down," Chen Ze glanced at his phone and decided to make a high-difficulty dessert to calm his nerves.
"So what should I make?" Chen Ze flipped through the cookbook in his hands. Many desserts were no longer challenging for him.
"Peach Pastry? This seems interesting," Chen Ze nodded. This fitted his criteria well, a dessert and more complicated than what he was used to.
Meanwhile, D-415, now dressed in a smart suit, was preparing to push open the wooden door in front of him when he saw the door flicker and then dissolve into foam, slowly disappearing before his eyes.
The Doctor glanced at the wooden door and then noted something on the computer. It seemed that either the owner of the restaurant inside had sensed danger and moved, or there was some time limit to the door’s existence. Careful observation was needed to determine which.
"We’ll just classify it as an object for observation," the Doctor shut down the computer, which bore an SCP logo on its casing.
Unaware that he was being watched, Chen Ze was fully focused on kneading the dough. The process for making Peach Pastry was indeed more complex than his previous endeavors, not just in terms of ingredients, but also the sequence of steps was quite intricate.
"First the oil dough, then the water dough... Now I have to refrigerate it for 20 minutes?" Chen Ze read through the recipe. The procedure for Peach Pastry filled an entire page, divided into twenty-five detailed steps. freēwebnovel.com
"This is unbelievable, I better prepare a few portions of dough in advance, just in case I fail and have to start over and refrigerate it for another twenty minutes," Chen Ze yawned and then heard the sound of a Wind Chime. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Another visitor?" Chen Ze took a deep breath, guessing the mysterious organization must have sent someone else to make contact.
"Is this a restaurant? How strange, why would there be a restaurant inside the body of a strange person?" The voice sounded very casual. Although the other party was posing a question, Chen Ze did not detect any sense of bewilderment in their tone.
Chen Ze quickly peeked out and caught sight of a bald head.
