Chapter 624: Chapter 484 Welcome to Dream Restaurant [Finale]

"Hey, have you guys heard? There’s this really magical restaurant in our Sun Moon City." Lin Sen lay his head on the desk, bored. He wasn’t particularly interested in gossip or urban myths, but he couldn’t stop others from constantly chattering in his ear.

"Yeah, I’ve heard too. It’s said that in the center of Sun Moon City, there’s a restaurant that always keeps its door shut, but this restaurant is strange; it suddenly opens sometimes, and some people go in to eat and drink. They say the food there is incredibly delicious, and the drinks are superb. But when people wake up, they find themselves at home, and that restaurant has never actually been open!" Another girl blabbered on, her voice loud, making Lin Sen feel the urge to cover his head with his backpack.

"And not even one person knows the name of that restaurant, it’s like everyone deliberately ignores it!" Another girl joined in the chat fray.

"Moreover, I heard the customers who went in say they met some really strange patrons there, and someone even saw Black and White Impermanence dining inside last time!" The voices grew louder.

"Hmph, I heard that someone went there before, and found Holmes and Professor Moriarty sitting inside!" Another boy joined the gossip group.

"Wow, Holmes, is it Benedict Cumberbatch? Does that restaurant attract big celebrities?" The incessant buzz, like ten thousand excavators working by his ear, made Lin Sen wonder if his eardrums would vibrate out.

"Enough already, what kind of restaurant is always closed? How can it operate without opening? And with Black and White Impermanence too, didn’t you learn anything from your books?" Lin Sen lost his patience, slapped the table, and stood up.

"Then how do you know that restaurant really doesn’t exist? What right do you have to say so?" The first boy who spoke looked down contemptuously at this top student favored by teachers.

"Heh, why should I prove it? If a restaurant is not open, then it’s not open. If it’s not open, how can you go in to eat? Are you dreaming?" Lin Sen couldn’t help but roll his eyes; he really couldn’t stand these guys anymore.

"Yo, you’re truly argumentative to the core. How do you know it doesn’t exist if you’ve never been?" Another boy mocked Lin Sen in a sarcastic tone.

"So, you’ve been there?" Lin Sen looked at the boy with half-closed eyes.

"I... I’ve definitely been there! I even saw a demon there!" The boy bellowed defensively.

"Wow, don’t you go straight home to play video games after school every day? You were still in the class group chat last night, posting about your gaming scores with girls. How did you manage to go there?" Lin Sen unhesitatingly pierced through the boy’s lie.

"You coward! If you dare, then go there, jerk!" Watching the two boys rage impotently, and the other girls’ look of spectators, Lin Sen suddenly felt foolish, wondering why he was bothering with these mindless monkeys.

"Only a ghost would go." Lin Sen laid his head back down on the desk. The next lesson was Math, and he needed to rest properly.

...

"So why do I come to this restaurant like an idiot..." At night, Lin Sen stood at the entrance of the mysterious restaurant, sighing.

An ordinary storefront, a plain wooden door with a closed sign hanging on it, and inside it was pitch-black, without even the lights turned on. It looked entirely unoccupied late at night.

And the weirdest part was, the restaurant didn’t even have a sign. Lin Sen didn’t even know its name.

"Without a sign and the lights off, it would really be a miracle if this restaurant could be entered..." Lin Sen shook his head as he looked at the dark restaurant before him, then reached out to push the restaurant’s door.

As long as the doors of the restaurant remained closed, Lin Sen could have gone back and declared that the restaurant was just a rumor, that no weird place actually existed. He could have told those fools to concentrate on their studies instead of spending all day gossiping about nonsense, wondering if those fools would ever get into their dream university.

"...done." Unexpectedly, the door opened, and Lin Sen, having just finished his sentence, stumbled inside.

It was a beautifully decorated restaurant, with opulent decor and wooden furniture that looked exceptionally unique.

But what was even more special were the people inside.

"Lift-off!" A little girl with black hair suddenly flew down from the second floor, hovering mid-air. This behavior that defied gravity made Lin Sen’s eyeballs almost pop out.

The girl looked at Lin Sen in surprise, and only then did he notice how exquisitely cute she was, appearing to be only three or four years old. However, her eyes, one black and one gold, left Lin Sen slightly dazed.

"Mom, Mom! We have a guest! Dad!" The girl shouted in a panic, then turned and disappeared into the restaurant.

Lin Sen rubbed his eyes.

"Did I just... have a hallucination? Or was the Unripe Cyan I had for dinner not cooked properly, causing me to have vision hallucinations?" Lin Sen started to analyze himself, suspecting he had gotten food poisoning from mushrooms.

"Yo, we’ve got a guest?" A man with some stubble peeked out from the kitchen, and then Lin Sen saw the man hiding the same timid girl behind him.

It’s not a hallucination?

Lin Sen was a bit flustered. He had never considered why the restaurant, which seemed completely dark from the outside, was lit up once he entered.

"Chen Fu, don’t scare the guest." Then another girl, dressed in a glamorous red outfit, walked down from the second floor, her face expressing annoyance at the mischievous little girl.

Lin Sen’s mouth twitched. This girl didn’t look much older either. She was already a mother? Was there something not quite right about this place?

"I’m sorry, guest, I’m the owner of the restaurant. If you’d like a cocktail, just let me know. This one’s on the house, as an apology for my daughter’s behavior." The girl turned to Lin Sen and nodded with a smile.

"Lafra, the child is a student, so he probably shouldn’t drink alcohol. Betty, go and pour the guest a glass of lemon water. We’ll have dinner later." The man sized up Lin Sen and then ruffled the head of the girl behind him.

"Wait for me... cough cough... to swallow!" A coughing sound came from the kitchen. frёeωebɳovel.com

Then Lin Sen saw a beautiful young lady with a pair of bat wings on her back come out, smiling at him.

"Welcome to Dream Restaurant~ esteemed guest!"
