Chapter 560: Chapter Four Hundred and Twenty Happy Mid-Autumn Festival
"It seems like the manager’s mood has lightened up all of a sudden," Betty said, puzzled as she watched Chen Ze. Ever since Lady Lafra spoke a few words, Chen Ze’s mood had been incredibly upbeat.
"Mm-hmm, that’s right..." Lindsay yawned, having pulled another all-nighter writing code.
"How strange..." Betty said with a look of confusion, her curiosity at its peak.
Chen Ze hummed a tune, today was truly a cause for triple celebration, for one, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival, then there was National Day, and on top of that, the news from Lafra put Chen Ze in a state of ecstatic excitement. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Manager, do you have black tea today? If so, I’ll have the same one as yesterday," came a voice as the door opened, and Chen Ze heard Professor Moriarty’s voice.
"Professor Moriarty~ Welcome to Dream Restaurant~" Betty immediately went to greet him, Professor Moriarty had been a frequent visitor recently, and she had grown accustomed to seeing him around.
"Ah, Miss Betty, you’re as beautiful as ever today," Moriarty said with a smile as he looked at Betty and then found a seat to settle into.
"Professor Moriarty, happy Mid-Autumn Festival, what would you like to eat today?" Chen Ze smiled as he came out and handed a mooncake to Moriarty.
"Mid... Mid-Autumn? That’s a festival from your Huaxia, right? Alright, thank you, Manager, happy Mid-Autumn to you," Moriarty replied in his somewhat awkward Chinese.
"So, what would you like to eat today, Mr. Moriarty?" Chen Ze asked with a smile, his Eight Treasures Mooncake still baking, so it would take a moment.
"Well... I’ll go with whatever you recommend, Manager," Moriarty pondered for a while, then decided on what he wanted to eat today.
"Alright, you’ll have to wait a bit then," Chen Ze nodded and then went back to the kitchen to start preparing the necessary items for today.
Chen Ze planned to make a dish of steamed crab, paired with some rice wine, which should taste quite nice, especially since crabs themselves could be prepared in many ways, but Chen Ze still preferred the simple method. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
The highest quality ingredients often only need the simplest preparation, like truffles and matsutake mushrooms, which are usually just sliced and grilled.
It was the same for the crab. While there were many recipes, like spicy crab, Chen Ze still planned to steam this crab plainly.
"Steamed crab... This should do for preparation, and let me think, what about the dipping sauce?" Chen Ze stroked his chin, contemplating the many available dipping sauce recipes before choosing a popular one.
"Miss Betty, who is that?" Moriarty asked curiously as he watched Lindsay nodding off.
"Professor Moriarty, this is my colleague, Lindsay," Betty said with a smile, placing a pot of black tea on the table and answering Moriarty’s question.
"Alright," Moriarty nodded, then continued to enjoy his tea.
"Betty, come in and serve the dish," Chen Ze clapped his hands, the steamed crab was ready, and then he had to deal with a few other matters—and also take out the crab-eating tools that came with the crab he had bought earlier.
"What is this?" Moriarty asked, puzzled as he looked at the steamed crab in front of him. He obviously knew what a crab was.
But the question was, what in the world were all these things placed by the side.
"Professor Moriarty, these are tools for eating crabs; you can give them a try first," Chen Ze smiled and then sat next to Moriarty to explain how to use these tools.
"You Easterners really do have a refined way of eating," Moriarty laughed, finding the method of eating somewhat similar to that of the nobility.
But it was also different, while it seemed somewhat complicated, it was elegant and, most importantly, extremely practical.
Following that, Moriarty began eating the hairy crab according to Chen Ze’s method, and once the crab meat was dipped in the sauce, the flavor of the entire dish climbed to another level.
"Very good," Moriarty was extremely satisfied; the taste of the dish was excellent, and it was delicious to eat, suiting his palate very well.
"I’m glad you like it, Professor," Chen Ze smiled and then returned to the kitchen.
His Eight Treasures Mooncakes were almost ready; it was time to take them out and prepare them for his customers.
"Manager! Give me ten servings of barbecue!" No sooner had Chen Ze returned to the kitchen than he heard Sebastian’s loud voice.
"I’ll still have the spicy hot pot," followed by Riesel.
"As for me, I’ll continue with the Ice Sea Chestnut Rice and add one portion of leek boxes," Dragone said as he walked in.
"Welcome, welcome, Sebastian, Riesel, Dragone, happy Mid-Autumn Festival. Try the special foods for the Mid-Autumn Festival," Chen Ze came out with a smile and took out twelve mooncakes.
"Happy Mid-Autumn Festival? Manager, is this a special holiday for you?" Dragone was a bit curious.
"Yes, Dragone, it’s a day for family reunions," Chen Ze was happy. The more guests he had today, the happier he felt.
However...
Chen Ze glanced at Sebastian, who seemed perfectly normal, but hadn’t he just encountered a cross-dressing expert last time?
"Manager, you don’t have to worry about me; I have decided to be together with—well, her," Sebastian, sensing Chen Ze’s confusion, quickly explained.
"???" Chen Ze was utterly befuddled. What kind of magic trick was this? How did they suddenly become a couple? Weren’t they previously distraught upon learning the other was male and feeling that Dragon wasn’t deserving?
"That guy has offered all his wealth and received divine grace, transforming into a complete female," explained Riesel, with heavy dark circles under his eyes.
Chen Ze glanced at Riesel, the corners of his mouth twitching. What was the deal with those dark circles?
"Please don’t mind it; my little dragon has been a bit troublesome lately," Riesel said with a forced smile.
"Uh...oh right, you guys sit for a while; I’ll go make your dishes," Chen Ze smiled awkwardly.
But with this conversation, Chen Ze suddenly became curious. If he and Lafra had a child, what would the child be like?
Chen Ze was a bit distracted, and the consequence was that the Eight Treasures Mooncakes came out a bit charred.
"Ah, my heavens, I shouldn’t have been distracted," Chen Ze scratched his head in irritation and then went to wash his hands again.
"Forget it; let’s start with cooking. Hopefully, we’ll get more customers today," Chen Ze wiped his hands and then began preparing the items needed for the day.
Suddenly, Chen Ze remembered that his phone had vibrated while he was looking up recipes.
Chen Ze took out his phone and glanced at it.
