Chapter 418: Chapter Two Hundred Seventy-Eight: Trio
Chen Ze was a bit excited as he popped his head out to take a look, and then he indeed saw that trio, including the cat among them.
"It really is these three," Chen Ze couldn’t help but smack his lips; these three were certainly the Team Rocket trio that followed Ash.
Of course, this Team Rocket has nothing to do with the Houston Rockets; they’re the villainous trio from the anime Pokémon.
However, Chen Ze felt that if there was a ranking for embarrassing villains from each world, this Team Rocket trio would definitely make the list.
After all, as villains, their charm was basically non-existent, and going against Ash seemed more like handing out experience gift packs.
What’s more, they often ended up helping Ash and his friends, then were moved by morality, becoming more and more likely to turn over a new leaf.
"Tsk tsk, I really don’t know how your Boss Sakaki can put up with it," Chen Ze shook his head; being able to tolerate these few disasters tarnishing Team Rocket’s reputation, Boss Sakaki could be said to have a great amount of tolerance.
"So, what would the three guests like to eat?" Betty asked, looking at the guys who had begun pointing fingers at each other, feeling a bit of a headache, and asked again.
"Shall we eat something then? Please bring a bowl of milk for Meowth," Musashi deliberated for a moment as she looked at her companions.
"I will not! I want to eat fish, preferably cooked fish!" Meowth immediately protested.
"Then why don’t we all have curry pork cutlet rice? I see they have that dish here," James also shared his idea, but for some reason, Chen Ze always felt there was something odd about his voice.
It wasn’t that James’s voice was unpleasant, rather, his accent sounded like a regional dialect.
"No! Curry fish rice is the tastiest!" Meowth contended strongly, trying to convince his companions of this point.
"Why don’t the three guests try today’s special recommendation?" Chen Ze walked out with a smile.
"Today’s special recommendation? That sounds good; it’s better than constantly arguing with you guys," James readily agreed, as such debates within Team Rocket usually took a long time to resolve.
"I agree too," Meowth also nodded firmly in agreement.
Only Musashi looked dejectedly at her companions; she actually enjoyed arguing with them. Moreover, the result of such debates usually ended up following her lead.
"I still think Meowth is suited for drinking milk," Musashi was a bit discontented.
Chen Ze’s mouth twitched. In cartoons, cats are often seen drinking milk, like Tom from Tom and Jerry, which gave young Chen Ze an impression.
That was, cats like milk, until Chen Ze grew up and learned that cats are lactose intolerant and drinking milk could actually lead to diarrhea; this is true for most cats.
Chen Ze didn’t continue to bother with these goofballs but went back to the kitchen to start preparing their special recommendation for today.
"For Musashi, I think a Chestnut Rice from the Cold Seas would be a very good choice; it should be able to hit her preferences," Chen Ze pondered for a moment, although such a scenario sounded a bit like a Minotaur theme.
"Then, pairing it with a portion of sweet and sour pork ribs should achieve a nice balance," Chen Ze nodded, thinking this idea was pretty good as well.
Next, Chen Ze prepared a Suan Cai Yu (Sour Vegetable Fish) for Meowth, with plenty of fish, quite large, and not a small amount of pickled vegetables, tasting very rich and aromatic.
As for James, Chen Ze prepared curry, as James had suggested eating curry earlier.
So, Chen Ze made James a special curry pork cutlet rice from the Curry World.
Paired with a delicious chicken soup, that was the special recommendation Chen Ze prepared for James today.
"Huh? Betty, you don’t know who we are?" Chen Ze was cooking when he heard Musashi’s voice from outside. It seemed they had already become friends.
"I don’t know, who are you guys?" Betty shook her head and then petted Meowth again.
Here it comes, the classic line.
"Since you asked so sincerely!" In an instant, Musashi ran to the middle of the restaurant and struck a pose.
"I will tell you out of great compassion!" James somehow got to Musashi’s side without anyone noticing. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!" Betty noticed that Meowth had also run over without anyone realizing.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!" James was already getting ready to strike a pose.
"Um... I wanted to ask, if you guys are villains, then why do you want to protect the world from destruction and ensure world peace?" Betty quietly interjected, abruptly interrupting the two and the cat who were about to deliver their final lines.
"Oh... right, we’re villains. Shouldn’t we be trying to destroy the world?" James looked utterly puzzled, his accent as heavy as ever.
"Sigh... I am Musashi of Team Rocket." Musashi was listlessly defeated.
"I am James..."
"Pfft..." Chen Ze almost died laughing. What the heck is James?
James’s accent was so thick! This was the first time Chen Ze had heard such an obviously incorrect translation in this context.
"Betty, come in and serve the dishes." Chen Ze clapped his hands; the dishes were ready.
Looking at the fish in front of it, Meowth swallowed hard. Yet, the strong aroma was relentless, making it salivate even more.
"I can’t take it anymore, meow!" Meowth immediately picked up the chopsticks, skillfully grabbed a piece of fish, and stuffed it into its mouth.
The sour and spicy flavor, and the tenderness with which Chen Ze had cooked the fish, was just perfect, not too soft nor too firm. One bite brought a mouthful of happiness, making Meowth unable to stop eating.
"My goodness! Is this chestnut rice really so delicious? I feel like all the chestnut rice I had before was fake!" Musashi covered her mouth, the flavor of the polar sea chestnut rice was just too good.
"Mmm-hmm!" James was equally satisfied; this curry pork cutlet rice was the best curry he had ever tasted.
Chen Ze was quite pleased watching his guests from Team Rocket. He was somewhat looking forward to what James... Ah, not Sting, James and the others would prepare to pay for the meal.
Chen Ze remembered from playing the games that he had seen a Pokedex entry describing Farfetch’d as a very delicious duck, which, paired with the large leek it carried, would taste even better.
"Tsk tsk, but that doesn’t seem too good either, after all, it’s a Pokémon nearly extinct from being eaten. How about trying to swap for some Magikarp?" Chen Ze thought this was a good idea.
He wondered if a Magikarp might leap over the Dragon Gate and transform into a ferocious Gyarados while he was cooking.
Would that turn into a situation of cooking Gyarados in an iron pot? That’s the wrong vibe.
