Chapter 417: Chapter Two Hundred Seventy-Seven New Guests and History

"Eh? A book from Professor Moriarty for me?" It was obvious that Ronna had no idea why Professor Moriarty would give her a book, so now her entire expression was one of clueless surprise.

"Anyway, you can still take a look. That’s what I think," Chen Ze nodded. He could have spoiled the history for Ronna, but he wasn’t confident that he could give her a better ending. Therefore, he felt quite relieved that Professor Moriarty was willing to help and guide Ronna.

"Is that so... Then, Mr. Manager, has that gentleman from last time still not come?" Ronna looked up with a face full of expectation, which made the corner of Chen Ze’s mouth twitch, and he mentally retracted his previous assessment of Ronna as a well-behaved child.

Chen Ze now felt that Ronna was a particularly troublesome child, especially given her expression and demeanor, which made him feel like he could read minds.

So, out of so many nice customers you could like, why are you so infatuated with Nyarlathotep? Chen Ze was a bit baffled.

"Ronna, that guest is very busy, and may not always have the time to come often," Chen Ze explained as he rubbed Ronna’s head with a smile.

"Is that so..." Ronna’s face fell with disappointment, making Chen Ze feel a surge of frustration.

"So, Ronna, what would you like to eat?" Chen Ze smiled at Ronna, trying to change the subject.

"Mr. Manager, this is a doll I made out of my new... old clothes. I hope you like it." However, Ronna didn’t immediately respond to Chen Ze’s question and instead took out a doll from her embrace and handed it to Chen Ze.

Chen Ze curiously took a look at it. It was a very ordinary cloth doll with seemingly golden hair tied into twin ponytails, each ending with red thread wound around them. He wondered why she had chosen this particular style.

"Thank you, Ronna. I really like it," Chen Ze smiled insincerely, knowing that in reality, a man receiving a doll wouldn’t have much of a reaction—unless, of course, it were a different kind of doll.

"Mhm~ I’m glad you like it, Mr. Manager. I’ve given the doll a name," Ronna said with undeniable joy, oblivious to the fleeting tone of dislike in Chen Ze’s voice. Children are really adorable.

"Oh? What name is that?" Betty asked, standing silently behind Ronna, observing.

Chen Ze was also curious, but didn’t pay much attention, assuming the child would likely name it something like Ronna Dake’s little brother or sister, or perhaps after her own parents. Still, Chen Ze was quite keen to hear what name this little one would come up with.

"I’ve named her Annabelle! How’s that, isn’t it a lovely name?" Ronna beamed proudly, while Chen Ze nearly ruined the dough in his hands.

Annabelle? Annabelle!

As a horror movie enthusiast, Chen Ze had seen a fair share of horror films and knew Annabelle as a fairly famous doll from those movies. He just didn’t expect Ronna to choose that name for the doll. freewebnovёl.ƈom

For some reason, Chen Ze felt the doll’s appearance shifted slightly, as if there was a flicker of light in its eyes, but he knew it must be his imagination.

After all, Annabelle wasn’t the style of this doll, and the doll Ronna had given him was purely fabric, soft to the touch, with an unknown stuffing inside.

"I think it’s quite nice," Chen Ze said, unable to bring himself to disappoint Ronna by criticizing the name.

"Ronna, here’s your pizza. Come grab it," Chen Ze said, holding a large bag. He had just finished making the pizza in the kitchen, and he also stowed away the Annabelle that Ronna had given him, placing it inside the cabinet.

As long as he was at his own restaurant, Chen Ze felt that Annabelle couldn’t cause any trouble, so he was very much at ease.

"Mr. Manager, could I trouble you for a favor?" Ronna, holding her pizza, didn’t leave right away, but turned and looked at Chen Ze with hesitation.

"What is it?" Chen Ze was somewhat speechless as he had a rough idea of what Ronna might want his help with. After all, the thoughts of a little girl were fairly easy to guess.

"It’s just... around what time does that gentleman usually come by?" Ronna cautiously asked, which made the corner of Chen Ze’s mouth twitch. Although it wasn’t about bringing her to meet Nyarlathotep, it definitely related to Nyarlathotep.

"Well... he usually comes by more often in the afternoon," Chen Ze thought for a moment but still answered Ronna’s question.

Although Chen Ze himself didn’t know the exact timing of Nyarlathotep’s visits, he had roughly tallied it, and Nyarlathotep’s most frequent visits were indeed in the afternoon.

"Thank you, Mr. Manager!" After sending off the young girl Ronna Dake, who was prematurely in love, Chen Ze’s restaurant once again returned to calm. However, this time Chen Ze didn’t immediately go out to buy the ingredients needed for Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. He decided not to purchase anything else until the wine pot arrived.

"Manager, what are we eating today?" Betty looked at Chen Ze with hopeful eyes, her stomach obviously growling again.

"Didn’t you just have Goubuli buns?" Chen Ze glanced at Betty. Her appetite was becoming more terrifying by the day, yet no matter how much she ate, she never gained weight, which was enviable.

Unlike Chen Ze, if he ate too much, he would start to round out. To maintain a healthy body, he had to get up early for a run every day, which was very much a reality.

"Hehe, but the Goubuli buns are just too delicious, so I really couldn’t help myself~," Betty tried to flatter him, but it was not very effective.

"Darling~ I’m hungry~" Lafra came downstairs from the second floor, covering her belly.

Lafra used the charm offensive, and it was super effective!

"Alright, I’ll get right on it!" Chen Ze nodded immediately and began pondering what to cook for lunch.

"Meowth, are you sure you saw Ash coming out of this wooden door?" Before Chen Ze could start cooking, he heard the sound of wind chimes and a man’s voice.

"Yes!" Another voice followed.

"Welcome to Dream Restaurant, dear customers. May I ask what would you like to eat?" Betty promptly went out to greet them.

"Meowth! I’ve been saying this is definitely just an ordinary restaurant. Even though we’re here to catch Pikachu, there’s no need to keep fixating on where Ash comes from," a female voice spoke, and Chen Ze immediately knew who these new customers were.
