Chapter 143: Chapter 3 Lafra: Bluntly Spouting the Truth
The Third Hokage couldn’t help but think of an old friend, an ambitious old companion.
"Danzo, is it you?" the Third Hokage pondered to himself.
After all, avoiding the detection of Konoha’s magic circles was no easy feat, let alone this time it was the restaurant, what about next time?
Would he open the door to see the Raikage inside, preparing to strike with his Lightning Plough Hot Sword?
Would the shadows from other villages along with their elites come to visit Konoha for sightseeing?
Moreover, such incidents, such space-time ninjutsu, the Third did not believe that Danzo would remain indifferent.
Yet there has been no action from Akatsuki up until now.
The Third Hokage silently took a puff of his cigarette and then, hands behind his back, returned to his room.
Meanwhile, Lady Lafra was in a very bad mood. Resting her chin on her hands, she watched the two fellows in front of her, feeling a strong impulse to beat them to death.
"Rock-paper-scissors... Scissors!" x2
"Rock-paper-scissors... Rock!" x2
"You damn old fool, why do you always pick the same as me?" Duke Raphael roared in anger, wishing he could use a forbidden spell to kill this old bastard.
"Heh, I just predicted your thoughts, that’s all," Prince Burvare said as he flicked his nails, mocking his old companion before him.
"It’s not like I didn’t predict that you’d predict my prediction," Raphael retorted with a cold laugh.
"You mean I wouldn’t predict you predicting my prediction of your prediction?" Burvare stood up, his bat wings flapping behind him.
"I’m saying, stop bothering me with these tedious matters in the future," Lady Lafra frowned as she addressed the Necromancer beside her. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"Sovereign, today we must decide on the ownership of the newly discovered Abyssal Grind Iron Mine..." The Necromancer wiped his skull, though there was no sweat on it.
He missed the days when the Governor was around. The Governor was a bit frivolous, but he was reliable in handling matters.
Whether it was Lady Lafra or Lord Stan, both stood at the pinnacle of power, yet they were very nonchalant about affairs.
Chest, duels, races—they had used them all to solve problems, and now they resorted to playing rock-paper-scissors.
The Necromancer looked at Duke Raphael and Prince Burvare in the duel arena with sympathy, wondering where Lady Lafra had learned such a thing.
Both were figures of high authority and influence, yet now they behaved like children, no wonder they were adamant about not bringing attendants with them.
Turns out they were afraid of losing their dignity.
"Haven’t you two made a decision yet?" Lafra glanced at the time; Chen Ze should have already opened the restaurant by now.
"Sovereign, I am diligently trying to predict his prediction of my prediction..." Raphael gasped for breath, finding this game of rock-paper-scissors too difficult, his brain cells burning out in the process.
Lafra tapped her foot in irritation, suddenly flying into the middle of the dueling field.
"Now, I’ll toss a Gold Coin. Heads, it goes to Raphael; tails, it goes to Burvare." Lafra produced a coin from her bosom.
"Sovereign, this..." Burvare was slightly troubled, wasn’t this a bit too childish?
An Abyssal Grind Iron Mine was worth at least tens of millions of Gold Coins, not to mention its use in forging weapons.
"Sovereign, indeed this..." Raphael also stepped forward.
"Do you have objections?" Lafra frowned at the two Vampires.
"No, no, Lady Lafra is wise and powerful, truly a role model for us Vampires!"
"Of course, we have no objections. Lady Lafra’s decision is so innovative, I am utterly convinced!"
Lady Lafra nodded in satisfaction, then flipped a Gold Coin, waiting for it to land...
"Chen Ze, I’m here~" Lafra pushed open the door cheerfully and sat down on the chair opposite the kitchen.
"Lady Lafra, welcome to the Dream Restaurant... ah..." Betty rubbed her eyes and placed a chilled cola on the table for Lafra.
"Betty, are you very sleepy today?" Lafra looked at Betty, puzzled.
"Mhm, the earl of the territory where I stayed last night was killed by an Aristocratic Assassin, I was woken up from bed and dragged out for questioning..." Betty said, looking very weary.
"Lafra, here’s your cola," Chen Ze brought out the cola.
"Would you like to try a new flavor?" Chen Ze remembered seeing some new flavors when he bought the cola.
"New flavor?" Lafra seemed interested.
"Yes, cherry and coffee flavored," Chen Ze nodded, not very fond of these two flavors, he could even say he felt indifferent about them.
The cherry flavor was specifically used by Chen Ze to prank his roommate. Chen Ze had tried it once and deeply regretted not heeding the convenience store owner’s advice.
"Many people say it doesn’t taste good."
"No problem, I just want to try it."
As it turned out, Chen Ze wasn’t one of the few people who liked it.
However, Lafra was a Vampire, and who knows if she would like these two flavors or not.
"Bring me a bottle next time, I’ll give it a try," Lafra nodded.
"Betty, what’s this about an Aristocratic Assassin?" Lafra asked curiously, looking at Betty, very interested in such incidents.
Then Chen Ze listened as Betty dramatized the story once more.
"It sounds a bit like the work of Destiny," Lafra mused.
"Destiny?" Betty hadn’t heard this name before.
"Yes, a person who causes headaches for the Pope, and is also Transcendent in strength, although not as much as us," Lafra nodded.
She had heard about it while playing cards with the Pope, and then that shameless Pope secretly switched a card, but luckily it was discovered by Stan.
"Then he must be a good person," Lafra assumed anyone who killed nobles was a good person.
"Good person?" Lafra chuckled. How could someone who methodically cut up his enemies, eating their flesh and drinking their blood, look anything other than a psychopath?
Moreover, that guy had used Magic to keep his heart beating and his brain alive. The Pope said, in the past, the clergy who witnessed that scene, even the most steadfast Knights, had their complexions change dramatically.
"You take this, although that guy probably won’t target you, you’re a Succubus after all," Lafra took out a Protective Charm from her bosom and handed it to Betty.
"Thank you, Boss Lady~" Betty murmured.
"What are you talking about!" Lafra looked at Betty with flushed cheeks.
"Hehe~" Betty grinned and ran off, she had long noticed Lafra’s feelings for the manager.
"I don’t want to be any Boss Lady!" Lafra muttered softly to herself.
Then she took out a Protective Charm from her bosom, looked at the photo she took with Chen Ze, and smiled sweetly.
"Boss Lady, huh... that title doesn’t seem too bad..."
