Chapter 127: Time Skip
The next day, Friday.
I spent all day removing the drop ceiling from the other wing.
As you would have guessed the interior walls did not go to the roof. They stopped at the organic tree trunks that topped the interior walls.
...
The weekend was spent shopping for various things, like tools and supplies.
...
Monday was an eventful day. It started with a message from Kitsumi Kiyo that they had finished work on the office spaces and storage facilities. Also that it would only take another week for them to finish the factory.
She mentioned that the machinery would be delivered and put together shortly after.
The factory would be up and running in around a month.
Which was great news.
Kitsumi Kiyo also apologized for it taking longer than planned. Because of Christmas and the New Years they had a few delays.
Though it seemed the workers were happy for the bonuses.
I was stunned for a moment because I had completely forgotten about that. Both Christmas and the New Years had come and gone without me even noticing.
While Christmas was being celebrated I was held up at home installing windows. That weekend I spent with Xue Qing was right in between the two holidays. I just happened to miss the decorations and festivities.
I mean there were festivals and we even went to one, but I didn’t realize what they were for.
Sometimes I can be way too stuck in my own head. I really need to pay more attention to the wider world.
Anyway, the permit for building was granted for my inn.
Great, now I can focus on finishing the building I had planned.
But, first I had to apologize to some people. Namely, my family and Layla. For not paying attention to their messages.
I had seen the text but I figured I would look at them later then I would forget I had even gotten a message. That’s normal for me but I still feel bad for having missed such a major holiday.
My family accepted my apology but I could tell they were still disappointed.
Layla didn’t respond to my message until a few hours later, when she said she also forgot so I shouldn’t worry about it.
She has been too busy to worry about anything else.
...
A month later.
February 5, 2026. Thursday.
The factory was ready for its first day of operation.
But before that what I have accomplished in the past month.
I managed to complete the library, but the home theater is still a work in progress.
For the library I got the interior walls out and the exterior wall has had the accordion door put in. The perimeter walls have book shelves and where the windows are I have cut out to allow for natural light.
The cut out also allows for a shelf to put things or trinkets on. I can collect those throughout my life. Just like the books. I will not be buying fake or bundles of books just to fill the shelves.
The last room on the other side has also gotten its accordion doors installed.
For the home theater I have taken the interior walls out and have installed all of the electronics. But, the seating is still being decided upon. We can’t decide if movie theater seats, a large couch, or large recliners are the way to go.
The home theater also has way more space than I was intending for it to have. We are only using like a third of the room. So I may bring in a whole bunch more computers into this room and have them hidden in the parts we aren’t using.
Maybe making it a LAN area or something? I think that would be cool. Or it could be a VR area? I’m open to a lot of ideas.
The last thing I should mention is that I made use of the computers. I got a developmental AI to run tests and experiments to develop new RAM.
I mainly did this to create a patented new type of RAM. The idea is to create the same thing with a different formula. So the connection points that make the RAM function should be done in a more efficient way that the other producers haven’t done yet.
Which I managed to do by having Layla scan one of my computers a whole bunch of times. Because even though it can’t fully scan the micro parts of RAM, it can get small parts of it. So, if I just scan it a bunch of times, eventually I will have a full picture.
A very pixilated and inaccurate picture. But, that is something I can give to the AI to problem solve.
What’s cool is that as the computer and therefore the RAM was upgraded it actually had developed differences that would be outside of patent protection. Which was a good thing, because the improvements made by the AI were minor at best.
Now when it comes to making my own RAM there is a little problem. That would be that I can’t make the new RAM type for my own patent. I have already registered my new RAM designs, but they are considered designs of the future.
Because we don’t have the technology to make it yet. The current photolithography machines can print at 3 nanometers, but my RAM needs to be printed at, at least 1 nm.
The photolithography machines of the next generation can print from 1.4 nm to 2nm. So, still not enough. Which is why my designs have been accepted so easily. It’s because people don’t think they will be produced for another decade.
The machine I have can print at 3 nm. However, after a few upgrades I wonder how precise I can get it?
Now that I have reflected carefully, it’s time to get to work upgrading things again. I have been very negligent with my ability and have been wasting its potential. But, I hope people can see that it was all for a bigger project.
