Chapter 413: THE END
Felicia could only stare at Erika, too stunned to speak. She had hoped that the bullet would finish her off but it seemed that Erika had already predicted her actions.
"What happened, Felicia? Are you speechless?" Erika taunted.
Felicia gritted her teeth until she managed to force words to come out of her mouth.
"Is this how it’s going to end, Erika? Are you sure you want to stain your hands with my blood? You are too good for this so just give me back the gun and we will call it a truce."
Erika stared at Felicia for a few seconds before laughing out loud. She laughed so hard that Felicia ended up feeling embarrassed.
"What are you laughing about?" Felicia questioned through gritted teeth.
"Do you think I’m a fool, Felicia? You didn’t bat an eyelash before you shot me and now that the roles are reversed, you want to call it a truce?" Erika laughed again, hitting her knees. "Aren’t you just shameless?"
Felicia opened her mouth, intending to retort but she felt a sharp pain in her arms.
When she looked over her shoulder, she saw a crocodile. The crocodile released her hand before its jaws clamped down on her arm again, earning a scream of terror from Felicia.
Erika didn’t intervene but when she saw another crocodile crawling towards her, she shot a bullet on the ground, scaring it and it went back to Felicia, clamping its jaws on her legs.
"What are you standing there looking at? Can’t you see I’m about to get eaten by these crocodiles? Get over here and help me," Felicia ordered through gritted teeth. She couldn’t fight them off.
"Isn’t this what you wanted to happen to me? Seems the heavens are not on your side," Erika mocked.
Felicia screamed in pain when the crocodile that was biting her arm twisted, directly twisting her arm along with it.
"Just help me you bitch," Felicia cursed.

Suddenly Erika was pulled back to the Hart’s mansion, many years ago, when she was still their precious and timid daughter-in-law.
It was the first time she met Felicia. It was a week after she’d gotten married to Adrian. Felicia didn’t attend their wedding because Grandma Elizabeth had forbidden her from coming but she didn’t seem to want to come either.
Erika was busy cleaning the living room, while the maids gossiped behind her with a hushed tone but she could still hear them.
Sighing, she continued to do what she was doing without paying them any attention.
Mary strode down the stairs, clad in the fanciest attires she had, even though she was just staying at home.
"Erika, hurry up and go make us lunch," Mary ordered. She glared at the maids who were busy whispering and yelling. "And what are you two doing here? Don’t you have your work to do? Come on, leave this instant. Peasants," she spat out bitterly.
The living room doors opened and Felicia walked in, dressed in a short tight red gown that stopped below her knees.
Once Mary saw her, her smile stretched naturally on her cheeks as she welcomed Felicia into the mansion.
"Felicia, my dear, it’s so good to see you here today," Mary said before the both of them exchanged a kiss on the cheeks.
Erika paused her cleaning.
’I’ve heard that name before,’ she thought.
"I’m so sorry that you had to miss the wedding," she apologized.
"It’s good I missed it. I wouldn’t want to see the man I loved marry another, it would break my heart," Felicia replied. She looked over Mary’s shoulder and saw whom she already presumed to be her boyfriend snatcher.
"What can I say? Sometimes, people are just too blind to read between the lines. But anyway, you will be a part of this family soon enough. That, I promise," said Mary.
Her statement made Erika turn to look at Felicia and the latter’s eyes were already on her.
’She’s so beautiful and her shape is to die for,’ Erika thought to herself.
Felicia walked towards her with her heels clicking on the floor. She sized her Erika up before she spoke,
"So, you are the one? Not bad but I wished Grandma Elizabeth would have picked someone worthy of being my rival. I’ve already won without even lifting a finger."
Felicia waited for Erika to retort but the latter only kept quiet.
"Aunty, don’t tell me she’s deaf and dumb."
Mary smiled, "It’s not that. I’ve taught her not to speak when important people are speaking."
"Oh, I see. Well then, I better go meet my sweet Adrian."
Felicia didn’t waste any more time with Erika and went upstairs, shaking her hips left and right.
"Now you know why I’m never going to accept you as my daughter-in-law. I mean, look at her. She’s perfect for Adrian and perfect for this family. You are completely worthless," Mary spat before she left.
**
Erika stared at the current Felicia. She looked nothing like in the past anymore. She didn’t wear trending clothes or have anyone by her side.
"You bitch! What are you thinking of?" Felicia questioned with tears in her eyes this time.
If Erika refused to help her, she knew she was done for. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
She’d never imagined that the tables would turn in such a way that she would get eaten by a crocodile. It was the worst way she’d imagined herself to die.
"Please," she pleaded this time, with a gentle tone.
Erika pointed the gun at her before a single tear dropped from her eyes.
"I will help you, Felicia. You will die without feeling any pain," Erika pulled the trigger, shooting Felicia in the head and the latter’s body dropped.
The crocodiles pulled Felicia’s body to the river and feasted on it, a dark crimson swiftly spreading over the water.
"This war is finally over. May you rest in peace, Felicia."
She stared at the river where several other crocodiles came and feasted on her leftover body parts. Erika closed her eyes before exhaustion hit her.
"Ethan, she’s gone." She mumbled before she fell.

"Mummy, I want to go to the pool," a voice called out while the short legs ran towards Erika, who was seated beside the pool, her hands on her belly, rubbing her baby bump. She was pregnant again.
"Luca, I told you already," said John, stopping him right off his tracks before he could reach Erika. "If you want to go to the pool, you must wear a safety jacket."
"But I can already swim."
"You still need a safety jacket," John argued.
Luca tilted his head at Erika who nodded at him. "You need a safety jacket, Luca. John and Jake are already wearing theirs, you need to wear yours too," said Erika with a smile on her lips.
Luca pouted before he finally agreed.
"Alright."
He went with John to get his safety jacket.
Erika engrossed herself by watching everyone in the pool enjoying themselves. Michael had forbidden her from getting into the pool due to the chemicals in it, so she could only watch from the outside. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Daniel was with his wife, Allison and their baby girl who was playing with Jake and Stella, Felix’ and Monica’s daughter. Gaulia, Andrew and Jasmine’s daughter were fast asleep as she hugged her mother, missing out on the fun.
Suddenly, a drink was placed in front of her. She looked up at the arm and smiled at him.
"Thank you," she said, grabbing the mango juice. She had been graving mango since she got pregnant. The pregnancy was already 8 months old which means it’s already been 8 months since Felicia died.
They didn’t tell Jake exactly how she died, but they did mention her getting eaten by crocodiles.
"How’s Martina?" Ethan asked, petting Erika’s baby bump while she sipped from her glass.
"She has been thirsty," Erika replied before she resumed her sipping.
Ethan could only chuckle. Eight months ago, when she confronted felicia, she didn’t tell him about it which only left him worried when he saw her state that day. But she did send him a text about her location.
Erika sighted John pulling Luca by his safety jacket.
"Don’t you dare drown," said John, seriousness evident in his tone. Luca could only mumble som inaudible words.
They got inside the pool while John kept a close eye on his younger brother.
This was the family Erika wished and it was the kind of family she got. She heaved a sigh of relief.
She turned to look at Ethan and asked, "Are you happy?"
"I am happy," he replied.
Erika smiled. "I love you."
"I love you more."
