Chapter 412: PLAYED LIKE A FOOL
"You are so wicked! How could you? You killed two people for your selfish goals!" Erika yelled, clenching her hands tightly, digging her nails into her skin.
"No, no, no, not for my selfish goals, Erika. They sacrificed their lives so that I could escape. Don’t complicate things," Felicia said, trying to justify her actions.
All of a sudden, Erika charged at Felicia, but the latter was quick enough to point the gun at her.
"If I were you, I would be careful. Don’t think I won’t pull the trigger, kill you, and dump you in this river for the crocodiles to feast on your body," Felicia threatened, and Erika halted her steps.
’I have to control my emotions before I lose it,’ Erika said to herself.
"You know, when I came here, I wanted to see if there was some sort of humanity in you, but it seems I was wrong. You are no longer a human, Felicia. You are a beast, an animal!"
"I love that. But if you look at it from a different angle, all this was meant to happen, Erika. Since the first day that you got married to Adrian. But you didn’t stop there, you went after Ethan Anderson! You always go after the people I love, and you think that I will let you be?!" Felicia questioned Erika through gritted teeth.
"What are you even talking about?"
"Don’t you get it?! You were never meant to live a peaceful life. You were supposed to lick my foot and drink the water because that’s where you belong, Erika. And because of you, I’ve been jailed twice already. I lost my family, and everyone loved you!"
Erika could only stare at Felicia, her blood boiling in anger, but she knew Felicia was just as angry too, but for different reasons.
"We both know you are wrong, Felicia. You lost everyone because you were too selfish and blind. You wanted everything for yourself. You took me for granted, but because of your actions, you lost the people you said you loved," Erika said, taking a step towards Felicia while the latter’s grip tightened on the gun. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"I wanted to make you pay for what you did to me, Felicia. That’s why I took my revenge on both your families. You reap what you sowed."
"Shut up!" Felicia yelled, clearly annoyed by Erika reminding her of things in the past, especially since she wanted to blame Erika for it all. "You’d better not take any more steps towards me, or I will blow your brains out," she threatened, but unfortunately for her, Erika didn’t seem affected by the threat.
"You are all alone now. Was this what you wanted? No husband, no child, no family, a runaway criminal, no property of your own."
"Shut up!" Felicia repeated.
Erika halted her steps before she tilted her head in pity.
"You look lonely, and the only way you want to beat this loneliness of yours is by killing me, isn’t that right? You are angry because you’ve lost in this war?" Erika asked, her voice as soft as the sunset that shone on her face. "Too bad I’m not going to pity you."
With that, Erika kicked Felicia in the stomach before the latter could predict her movement.
Felicia fell to the ground, gripping her stomach tightly in pain while the gun flew out of her hands.
Before Erika could land another kick, Felicia dodged it and pushed Erika away.
"You think that you can defeat me, Erika?" Felicia questioned.
Erika charged again at Felicia, and soon enough, the both of them engaged in a fierce brawl, with Erika giving the most punches while Felicia tried her best to dodge them.
Erika punched Felicia in the face, and the latter fell to the ground.
Felicia felt her hand touch an object, and she grabbed it immediately, hiding it behind her back. Her lips were bruised, and she couldn’t see properly with her left eye. Erika had beaten her up completely.
"You are so pathetic, do you know that?" she asked Erika, which took the latter by surprise. "I was thinking of killing your sons first but then decided to come after you. Besides, after you are dead, your sons are as good as dead too, aren’t they?" She smiled.
Erika gritted her teeth and launched at Felicia, but before she could hit Felicia again, the latter had already shot her.
"You think you are so smart, don’t you? Threatening me like that."
Felicia stood up from the ground and glared at Erika, whose eyes were wide open as she grabbed her stomach.
"When I said over the phone yesterday that we were going to finish this, I meant to finish you off, Erika," Felicia said, pointing the gun at Erika. "Any last words, Erika?"
Erika looked up at Felicia, who was ready to pull the trigger again.
"You know one thing that has led to your downfall? You celebrate too soon."
Felicia frowned, wondering why Erika would say that. She looked at Erika’s stomach but couldn’t find any bloodstains.
’What? I made sure to shoot her. Why isn’t her shirt stained with blood?’ she wondered.
Felicia attempted to pull the trigger, but Erika had already read her thoughts and pulled the gun away from her direction, aiming somewhere else just in time before Felicia pulled the trigger.
Twisting Felicia’s arm at an odd angle, Erika elbowed her chest, grabbed the gun from her hand, and pointed it at her instead.
Felicia coughed out blood from her mouth as she held her chest.
Something crawling from the corner of the river behind Felicia caught Erika’s eye.
"You disgusting bitch. Why are you not dead?" Felicia questioned, wiping the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand. Her chest hurts due to the elbowing.
"Did you think that I would come to meet a dangerous, psychotic criminal like you without ensuring my safety first?" Erika asked before pulling her shirt up, revealing a bulletproof vest.
