Chapter 406: RAN OFF
Felicia checked the pulse of the warden until she finally took her last breath.
Dropping the baton, Felicia took a backwards step, as if she was in a trance. She’d just killed two people in less than an hour.
"I had to do this to save myself, else, she would have ratted out about what I did to Juliet," she said, trying to justify her actions.
She didn’t bother hiding the body but instead, she stepped over it, reaching for the bunches of keys that she saw the first time she’d sneaked into the building.
Felicia grabbed the same key she took the first time she had sneaked inside the office.
Felicia typed a few keys on the keyboard.
Glaring at her inmate uniform which was a bright orange color while a bold INMATE was written at the back, Felicia glanced at the warden’s uniform before she dropped the key to one side and changed their uniforms.
People would call the police if they found an inmate on the street, especially when news would be released and it would circulate the entire city.
Staring at her shorts, Felicia decided to change them to the wardens’. When she was finally done, she walked right out of the office, grabbing the keys.
She headed towards the back gate of the prison without minding the CCTV cameras because she’d already turned them off. Felicia also didn’t bother to carry any weapon while heading towards the back gate because she was assured that no warden usually stayed there at night.
That was what the warden she had just killed told her and she had already confirmed it.
Using the keys to unlock the gate, Felicia stepped out as if she were stepping out of her house.
’This is what I had to do, but it’s not my fault. It’s all Erika’s fault. She was the one who turned me into a murderer. She was the one who made me kill both Juliet and the warden.’ She thought to herself.
"Oh Mary, I wonder how she will react when she wakes up but there’s no Juliet beside her. And worst of all, she won’t know where her body is. Unless they dig the ground around the prison, that’s only when they will find her," she said to herself as a smirk pulled up on her lips.
Suddenly, she saw a red light piercing through the night.
"Oh, they have already raised an alarm, I better get going," she added before she started running in any direction.
They’d never been allowed outside of the prison before and since New York wasn’t her hometown, she was completely lost but she didn’t seem bothered by it. It was better to be lost than to be killed or locked up in prison.
Felicia ran until she saw the sunrise on the horizon. She didn’t know if she ran long enough or not. Since the police would be using the police car to chase after her, she decided to run despite how tired she was. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Slumming her body on a tree, she devoured the oxygen as if she’d been devoured of it.
"What’s this?" Felicia asked herself when she felt something on the back pocket of the warden’s uniform jeans she’d stolen.
Digging her palm into the pocket, she found some cash, keys, and most importantly, a small cell phone.
"Looks like I’ve struck some kind of luck," she said to herself. Felicia searched some more but only found weed. She threw it away since the weed didn’t have any kind of importance.
Bringing the keys to her face, Felicia examined them. "Could this be the keys to her house?" She wondered.
Frowning, she tried to open the cell phone and luckily, it wasn’t password guarded. She tried to search for any kind of information on the phone, like the address of her house.
Scrolling through her messages, Felicia finally found an address that the warden had sent to someone.
"Could this be her house address?" Felicia wondered. She closed the cell phone and kept it back in her pocket. "I have to be careful. I can’t wander around, else I will be caught."
Feeling even more exhausted, all she could do was just stare at the sun that was starting to rise.
"I bet Erika is still sound asleep. God is on my side in this mission. Now, how am I going to torture Erika for everything that she has done to me?" She asked herself before laughing like a psychopath.
"And Ethan, I wonder whether he will be able to tell who his wife is after I show up at his doorstep." She imagined before a smile crept up on her face. "Maybe I can try stealing him from Erika just the way Erika stole Adrian from me," she added, her smile stretching even more on her lips.
"Oh, and Mary. She must have found out that Juliet is dead or probably, she thinks that Juliet escaped with me since she won’t be able to find her," she thought to herself, swinging the keys in her hand.
"I finally have my freedom now and I will make sure to put it to good use. And what other good use if not making Erika’s life a living hell for her? I’m going to kill Erika," she promised, an evil glint flashing in her eyes.
When Felicia was finally done having her pet talk and in between, having her rest, she finally decided to get going.
Standing up, she patted her buttocks before she put the keys back inside her pocket.
Meanwhile, at the prison, Mary was screaming, looking for Juliet everywhere but she couldn’t. The wardens had to lock her up since she was still an inmate and wasn’t allowed to wander everywhere around the prison.
"Please look for my daughter," she pleaded.
Her thoughts were only telling her one thing but she didn’t want to believe that her daughter had ended up that way.
"Juliet can’t be dead. She can’t be dead!" She declared, shaking her head as if she could shake off the thoughts as well.
