Chapter 403: DESTROYED

Jennie walked into Wilson’s building, her 3-inch heels clicking on the clean marble floor, while her employees greeted her with a curious stare as to why she was wearing a scarf across her face with sunglasses indoors.

Getting to the meeting room, Jennie tossed away her bag and banged her fist hard on the table.

"Don’t tell me you have another bad news because I’m sick of it," said Jennie. She removed her glasses and glared at her shareholders. "What is it this time?" She questioned.

A young man in his late twenties stood up and spoke,

"We have already lost two of our investors. They intend to go back to the Anderson corporation but I doubt Ethan Anderson will take them back. We have lost a total of 65% of our stock market," he dropped the bomb without batting an eyelash.

Jennie could only stare at him as the entire room fell into silence. She wanted to spew insults but she’d suddenly run out of them.

She could only stare at the young man who had just spoken. He didn’t wear a good expression when he was making the announcement which could only mean that they have reached their last bus stop.

"What do we do?" Jennie managed to ask, staring at her other investors who also didn’t wear a good expression.

...

Silence filled the room once more before one of the female investors spoke up.

"As you can see Miss Wilson, the Thompson corporation is working hand in hand with the Anderson’s corporation and the Wilson is nothing compared to those two. We’ve already lost 65% of our stock market and 4 top investors. I don’t know about the others here, but I’m going to sell my shares and invest in another company, maybe the Thompson or the Anderson. Besides, they have more potential than Wilson."

Jennie felt a thunder strike above her head as a dark cloud hovered on top of her.

Not once had she ever thought that something like this could happen.

First, Erika barged into her house and beat her up, and now, her company was about to go bankrupt. She was going to lose her shareholders and her employees. Worst of all, she could lose the company. freeweɓnovel.cøm

Things weren’t going exactly as she’d planned them to. Not at all. Everything had happened so suddenly that she didn’t have the time to come up with a plan B.

"S-so, what are you saying?" Jennie questioned, about losing her composure.

The female investor raised her chin proudly before she replied.

"It’s obvious you have lost in this war even before you began, Miss Jennie. I don’t want to be part of your games so I’m going to sell my shares and leave."

The female investor stood up from her chair, pushed it back, and stepped out.

"This has been a game go you anyway," she said before giving them her back as she exited the meeting room, not wanting to be part of their plans anymore.

"She’s right! What’s the point of being in partnership with you when you don’t even take good care of the company? In just a week, we’ve already lost 65% of the company’s stock market, just like that. Where did they disappear to?" Another investor questioned, demanding an answer immediately.

Jennie opened her mouth but when words couldn’t fall out, she closed them immediately.

"We are doomed! The company won’t last for another week or even a day. You made the biggest mistake by looking for trouble from one of the top companies in New York, Miss Jennie. Now, you want to drag us down with you," another investor said.

There are a total of 6 investors remaining but their shares held little to no value for the company.

"It was my biggest mistake to partner with you, Jennie Wilson."

As the investors gave their remarks about their current situation, they exited the meeting room right after.

Jennie didn’t need to ask where they were going because she was sure they were going to sell their shares as well.

One by one, each investor left, leaving only Jennie with the young man who spoke earlier. The meeting room became even more quiet than it was earlier.

"Just shut down the company. You stand no chance against the Anderson corporation. All in the name of revenge, you’ve ruined your own company," said the man.

"Richard, you shouldn’t be saying that to me. You were involved in this too. You were the one who gave me the go signal and now you are blaming everything on me? What did I ever do?" She questioned the man in front of her as tears flowed from her eyes.

"You said you wanted to make Ethan regret doing what he did to you back then, not to lead the company into its downfall. I completely regret coming back here with you. I’m going back to Spain," said Richard.

"You are my brother, you are supposed to be with me in these kinds of situations and you plan on leaving me?" Jennie questioned. "I just need a few days, I can fix this," she pleaded.

"Yes, you are my sister, but you should have known that the people you were dealing with were no ordinary people. The other day, you said the wife of Ethan attacked you in your house, and now these? Nothing can be done, Jennie. We’ve lost. Shut down the company and use the remaining money to settle the employees. We wouldn’t want to reach the bottom where we won’t be able to pay their salaries anymore. Just shut down the company, Jennie. It’s over." Richard said before he got up from his seat and left the meeting room as well.

Jennie grabbed her hair in frustration. She was so focused on her revenge that she focused on whom she was messing with. She had believed that Ethan had a soft spot for her but he destroyed her completely without living a trail.

She was destroyed and left with no strength to fight again.
