"I’m asking you, what are you doing here?" Jennie questioned out loud when Erika didn’t answer her question. It had been a few days since she’d had been waiting for Erika to barge into her office and question her about her last interaction with Ethan which she’d witnessed, but never in her wildest dreams did she expect Erika to come to her house.
Especially since she doesn’t have her bodyguards who can help her. Her scalp still hurts a little from her hair being pulled so forcefully by Erika. freewebnσvel.cѳm
"I’m asking you a question," Jennie repeated when Erika still didn’t seem ready to answer her question. She was busy cracking her knuckles and the sound irked her.
"When you did your research, since you were so curious about my past, I’m sure you saw the part where I’ve beaten a particular person up, right Jennie?" Erika asked. "I don’t joke with my family members, Jennie, especially my husband."
Before Jennie could gulp down her saliva that seemed too heavy for her to gulp, Erika had already grabbed her by the hair and she made sure to pull hard.
"You had the guts to come back into my husband’s life and you also have the nerve to threaten him that you would kill me and my children all because of some stupid property. You got guts," said Erika as she pulled Jennie out of the house she was sneaking her body in.
"I’ve beaten up a few people like you people, you husband snatcher, and I can still beat more of you if you dare cause trouble for my family."
Jennie yelped in pain but as always, Erika didn’t pay any attention to her before she elbowed her back and Jennie winced in pain.
Having had enough, Jennie twisted her body so that she could get out of Erika’s grip. The both of them finally got separated.
Erika smiled when she saw Jennie’s new look after she’d dragged her head. She looked like a mad woman while the red lipstick she wore on her lips added a touch.
"I was supposed to be Ethan’s wife before he left me in Spain just to come back for a low piece of shit like you," Jennie mocked as she tried catching her breath. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"What did you just call me?" Erika questioned Jennie, her tone low and demanding and it sent chills down Jennie’s spine. "Repeat yourself," Erika ordered but Jennie couldn’t bring herself to repeat that. She was simply shaken out of fear.
"Just leave me alone, Erika. If I can’t have Ethan since he doesn’t want me, I will make him a poor man," Jennie promised.
"Go ahead," said Erika. Jennie stared at Jennie in shock. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. "You want to make him poor? Then go ahead. I will make him rich."
"You are a nobody Erika, if not for your family, you would’ve been stuck with your in-laws. Oh, what was their name again? The Hart, right? You would have been stuck with Adrain Hart, the man you deserve because you don’t deserve Ethan at all!" Jennie spat out with all her might, her lungs nearly falling out of her mouth because of how loudly she’d yelled.
But unfortunately for her, she didn’t get the kind of reaction she’d expected from Erika. She was simply calm and cool as if she didn’t just pick one sensitive topic of her life.
"Are you done barking? Because I almost mistook you for a dog but it seems you are one," Erika mocked. "In case you are wondering why I’m not affected by your words, it’s simply because I’ve been told similar things by my so-called ex-in-laws. But you know what, Jennie, I didn’t come here to talk at all, I came here to fight and I won’t leave until I’ve scratched that face of yours," Erika promised before she charged at Jennie, who didn’t know where to run off too.
Erika had never been the one to instigate a fight and she was never the one to entertain a fight but since it seems all her enemies want her to change her taste, she was going to do exactly that.
It also felt good since she’d not fought with anyone since the last time she found her sons who were both kidnapped by Adrain and Felicia. She felt her blood boil in anticipation as she kicked Jennie in the stomach.
"After I’m done with you, you will never be able to show your face in front of my husband again."
Jennie tried to escape from Erika’s grip again but Erika didn’t let her to.
"You dare to come back into his life after so many years but I will be the one to take care of you since you can’t stay put," Erika said before her long nails made contact with Jennie’s face. But since she had to hold Jennie with just one hand, the latter made her escape before Erika couldn’t completely scratch her face as she had promised.
"You are a crazy woman," Jennie commented.
The only reason she was at home was because things weren’t going well with her company. Someone, another company was aiming at her investors, and for the past three days, she’d already lost two top investors. They decided to go back to Anderson’s company without batting an eyelash.
Jennie had done her research and found out that the owner of the company was a friend of Ethan’s. The company was just as large as the Anderson’s and they somehow managed to pull the investors out and offer them a much bigger deal.
"Those greedy fools!" Jennie slammed the files on her desk when she saw the report. "They are going to pay for this."
She decided to take a break and simply stay at home for the day to calm her brain cells. But she didn’t know that she wouldn’t have any peace in her own home.
Unbeknownst to her, the wife of the man whom she was trying to destroy had come to cause her more trouble.
