Chapter 106: Karma Never leaves you

The morning sun shone through the large glass windows of Nathan Industries. Employees moved through the building as usual.

Computers clicked, phones rang. Meetings continued.

Everything looked perfectly normal.

Inside the executive office, Aiden sat behind his desk reviewing company reports. Stacks of documents covered the table. His expression remained calm and professional.

A knock came from the door.

"Come in."

The door opened.

A man wearing glasses entered while carrying several files.

The employee approached respectfully. "Sir, these are the reports you requested."

Aiden accepted the files and began reviewing them. After several moments, he nodded. "Good work."

The employee smiled politely. "Thank you, sir."

Aiden looked at him. "You’ve become more diligent day by day."

The employee lowered his head modestly. "Sir, you flatter me. I’m not that great."

Aiden chuckled. "Humility is good in some cases. But don’t underestimate your own efforts."

The employee continued smiling. Outwardly he looked like the perfect worker. Loyal, reliable and trustworthy. freewēbnoveℓ.com

But both we and fate knew the truth. Behind those glasses hid the architect of the conspiracy against Aiden.

The man who had leaked information, the man who had manipulated financial records and the man who had secretly worked with Kuruda.

Yet Aiden continued praising him without knowing the truth hidden beneath the loyal employee’s mask.

The employee bowed. "I’ll return to work now, sir."

Aiden nodded. "Keep it up."

The employee left the office. The door closed behind him.

Aiden quietly looked toward the door. He was thinking," Such a good employee."

Then his phone suddenly rang.

Aiden looked at the caller ID. "Toma?" He immediately answered. "Hello?" His voice softened. "How are you? Are you okay?"

On the other side, Toma spoke quickly. "Forget about me."

Aiden blinked. "Huh?"

Toma continued. "I have something much more important to tell you."

Aiden leaned forward. "What happened?"

Several minutes passed as Toma explained everything.

The warehouse, the evidence. The money laundering scheme, the fake files and the conspiracy. The traitor inside Nathan Industries.

The more Aiden listened, the darker his expression became. His hand slowly tightened around the phone. His knuckles turned white.

By the time the call ended his eyes no longer held warmth. Only anger. Cold, controlled anger remained.

Aiden lowered the phone. Then looked toward the city outside his window. "Kuruda..." His voice was barely above a whisper. "And you." His gaze shifted toward the office floor below. "The traitor."

Meanwhile...

The employee with glasses sat comfortably at his desk. A huge smile rested on his face. He spun slightly in his chair. His imagination had already taken over.

He imagined stacks of cash, luxury cars, expensive suits, private villas. A life of wealth.

He laughed quietly. "I just can’t wait." His grin widened. "Soon Nathan Industries will fall. And I’ll finally get my share."

In his imagination he was already rich. He imagined himself driving a Ferrari. He imagined reporters praising him. He imagined Aiden being arrested.

The employee leaned back. "What a beautiful future."

Then...his office phone rang.

He answered immediately. "Hello?"

Aiden’s voice came from the other side. "Come to my office."

The employee smiled. "Of course, sir."

After ending the call, he stood up. His confidence grew. "Maybe Kuruda had already begun moving. Maybe Aiden’s downfall was finally starting."

The employee adjusted his glasses. Then headed toward the executive office.

A few minutes later....he entered Aiden’s office. "You called for me, sir?" To his surprise, Aiden was smiling. The employee became confused.

Aiden stood up. "Actually, yes."

The employee tilted his head.

Aiden folded his arms. "I’ve made a decision."

"What decision, sir?"

Aiden smiled. "Today, I’m giving you a promotion."

The employee nearly laughed. "Really?!"

Aiden nodded. "You’ve worked hard. I think you’ve earned it."

The employee pretended to look grateful. "Sir...Thank you so much." But inside his mind..he was laughing hysterically. "Promotion? Forget the promotion. You’ll be behind bars soon. And I’ll be riding a Ferrari. Keep smiling while you can, idiot." The employee almost felt sorry for Aiden.

Then...

Faint sounds echoed from outside.

WEEEOOOO!!

WEEEOOOO!!

WEEEOOOO!!

Police sirens.

The employee looked toward the window. "Huh." He laughed. "There are so many crimes these days."

The sirens became louder.

"Maybe the police came nearby to catch someone."

Aiden remained silent.

The employee continued. "Poor guy. Must have made a huge mistake."

The sirens grew even louder.

WEEEOOOO!!

WEEEOOOO!!

The employee looked outside again.

Then froze. The police vehicles weren’t passing by. They were stopping. Directly outside Nathan Industries.

His smile faltered. "...That’s strange."

Aiden slowly stood up. His smile remained. But something about it felt very dangerous.

The employee suddenly felt uncomfortable.

Aiden walked around the desk.

Step.

Step.

Step.

The atmosphere inside the office changed.

The employee swallowed. "Sir?"

Aiden stopped directly in front of him. Then gave a calm smile. "Yeah. The police are here."

The employee forced a laugh. "Looks like they found some criminal."

Aiden nodded. "They did."

The employee’s stomach suddenly twisted.

Something felt very wrong.

Aiden’s eyes locked onto his. Then Aiden smiled. A smile filled with absolute rage hidden beneath perfect control. "You’re right."

The employee felt sweat forming on his forehead.

Aiden leaned slightly closer. And said: "Yeah..They’re here to catch a very traitor fish." freёwebnovel.com

The employee’s heart skipped a beat.

Outside...

The car doors opened.

Heavy footsteps approached the building.

And at that very moment....The traitor realized that something had gone horribly wrong.

The employee’s smile finally began cracking. A single drop of sweat rolled down the side of his face. His mind raced.

"Impossible...!Kuruda said everything was covered. The files were hidden. The evidence was destroyed. How did they find anything?"

He forced another nervous laugh. "Sir... traitor fish? That’s quite a funny joke."

Aiden didn’t laugh.

That scared him even more.

The office door suddenly opened. Two police officers entered. Behind them came several investigators carrying folders.

The employee’s face turned pale.

One investigator immediately placed a thick stack of documents on Aiden’s desk.

Aiden casually opened the folder.

Financial records, transaction histories, messages, warehouse reports. Every piece of evidence the traitor thought was safely hidden.

The employee stared at the files. His legs nearly gave out.

Aiden slowly looked up. "Funny thing." He tapped the evidence with a finger. "I was about to promote you." Then his smile vanished. "But prison seems more appropriate promotion for you backstabber as*hole."

The employee’s entire body froze as the officers began walking toward him.

Meanwhile, Nobody sat at a tea shop, sipping his tea. He glanced at us and said,

’Yeah, guys, that dude is cooked for real."
