Chapter 1160: Chapter 1160: Is It Just Because the Kids Like You?

Realizing that she had let something slip, Janelle Tollman froze, her cheeks turning bright red.

Seeing her embarrassment, Arthur Sutton didn’t tease her further. He gently tucked her wind-blown hair behind her ear, "Thank you for having the courage to come to me. I promise you, none of the things you’re worried about will happen."

Janelle looked up at him, her thoughts and gaze slightly scattered.

She nodded, watching Arthur Sutton’s face slowly approach her.

Fully aware of what was about to happen, she didn’t struggle to escape, she merely closed her eyes tremblingly.

As their lips were about to meet, Janelle, due to her nervousness, tightly clasped the fabric of Arthur Sutton’s coat with her hands resting on his back.

The sunrise’s glow fell on them, as if the beach at this moment only belonged to the two of them.

The whole day, Arthur Sutton stayed by Janelle Tollman’s side, aside from occasionally answering calls to deal with work matters, his mind was entirely on Janelle.

The distance between them became invisibly closer.

Janelle thought it would take a long time for them to get closer, but unexpectedly, in just two days from confessing their feelings to being together, their relationship became this intimate.

Concerned about the children, Janelle decided to return the next day.

With Janelle leaving, Arthur Sutton naturally couldn’t focus on work either. Originally planning to stay here for a week, he now finished coordinating work matters with colleagues ahead of schedule, deciding to return with Janelle the next day.

In the morning, after Arthur gathered his subordinates for a brief meeting and they had breakfast, the two went directly to the station.

When Janelle arrived, she was alone, full of nervousness and anxiety.

Now, accompanied by Arthur Sutton, she felt relaxed and carefree, in a completely different state.

"I told my mom." Janelle put down her phone, turned to Arthur Sutton, "She said... you’re welcome to join us for lunch."

As if afraid of making things difficult for him, Janelle didn’t wait for his answer before saying, "If it’s inconvenient for you, in a couple of days is fine."

Arthur Sutton chuckled, "So it’s settled. Let’s do it today. Tell Mom she doesn’t need to prepare anything, it’s too tiring. I’ll book a restaurant, what would you like to eat?"

Mom...

His casual address briefly left Janelle in a daze.

Soon, she found it a bit amusing. She had always thought Arthur Sutton was the slow-going type.

Now, he seemed not as calm as he appeared, perhaps more eager than her.

"She’s already at the supermarket buying groceries, and she usually doesn’t like us going out to eat."

Arthur Sutton nodded with a light laugh, then she saw him visibly take a deep breath.

Janelle laughed, "Nervous?"

Arthur Sutton didn’t hide it, "Of course, mainly... I’m not sure how to interact with the children when we meet."

Janelle, "You’re all so familiar, just be how you usually are."

Arthur Sutton, "But I don’t want them to call me ’Uncle Sutton’ anymore."

Janelle looked at him seriously and said, "I’ll explain it to them properly, plus Noah has already said before that she wanted you to be her dad."

"Really?"

"Mm. Actually, the decision I made was largely because the kids like you."

Arthur Sutton reached out and held her hand, his tone slightly dissatisfied as he asked, "Just because the kids like me? What about you?"

Such a straightforward expression still made Janelle a little overwhelmed, her cheeks flushed slightly as she said, "...half and half."
