Chapter 1146: Chapter 1146: Awakening Some of Your Memories

As soon as she walked out of the elevator, Janelle Tollman saw Arthur Sutton leaning against the car.

When she got close to him, Janelle slowed her pace, feeling a bit awkward as she opened her mouth to greet, "...Hi, good morning."

Arthur Sutton curved his lips into a light smile and replied, "Good morning. Coming over so early, did I disturb your rest?"

"No, my mom’s not around to watch the kids, so I’ve had to get up at this time these days."

Arthur Sutton turned around to take out a small cage from the trunk, which contained a kitten. The kitten’s eyes were wide, and it looked around with a frightened and uneasy expression.

Janelle immediately stepped forward and bent over to look at the kitten, "It’s so cute."

Arthur Sutton smiled, "It’s my brother’s cat, he calls it Mochi, a name my sister gave it."

Janelle looked at the chubby head of the white kitten and said with a smile, "The name suits it perfectly. Can we let it out?"

Arthur Sutton nodded and reached in to carefully take the kitten out of the cage, then handed it to Janelle, who cradled it carefully in her hands, "Noah will definitely be very happy to see it."

"There are more pet supplies in the car; let me help you carry them up."

"Thank you."

"Meow~"

In the elevator, the kitten struggled anxiously, and Arthur Sutton softly reminded, "Be careful it might scratch you. Don’t be fooled by its small size; it can still scratch pretty hard when it gets upset."

Janelle gently patted the kitten’s head to calm it down, feeling a natural familiarity as she did so, "I think maybe I used to have a cat."

"If it can evoke some memories for you, that would be a good thing."

"Ding-dong—"

The elevator arrived at the floor and slowly opened. Arthur Sutton followed behind Janelle until they reached the door.

After Janelle opened the door, she saw the kids’ shoes piled messily by the door, and feeling slightly embarrassed, she nudged the shoes behind the cabinet with her foot. But it was clear Arthur Sutton had already seen them from where he stood by the door.

"... The house is a bit messy, please don’t mind."

Arthur Sutton smiled and shook his head, "I don’t mind, you’re handling work and looking after the kids all by yourself, you’ve got a lot on your plate."

Janelle pressed her lips into a smile and bent down to put the kitten on the floor, "Well... make yourself comfortable, I’ll go wake up the kids."

"Alright."

Just as Janelle reached her son’s bedroom door, Chase opened it himself, "Who’s here?"

"Uncle Sutton is here. Did he wake you up?"

Chase shook his head, then walked into the living room like a little adult and asked Arthur Sutton, "What are you doing here?"

Arthur Sutton joked, "To see if you and your sister are up yet."

When Chase saw the kitten on the floor and the pet supplies Arthur Sutton was arranging, he seemed to understand the purpose of his visit.

So he didn’t say anything else, just squatted down to watch the kitten who was still unfamiliar with its surroundings.

Seeing that the interaction between the children and Arthur was harmonious, Janelle smiled and turned around to wake Noah.

Little Noah was normally a child who loved to sleep in, but upon hearing that Uncle Sutton brought over a kitten, she immediately woke up.

She threw off the covers, slid on her slippers, and rushed out of the room.

"Uncle Sutton!"

Arthur Sutton smiled and nodded, "Good morning."

"The kitten!" Noah squatted next to her brother, both fearful and curious of the little kitten, carefully reaching out to touch it.

"Mom, look! Isn’t it cute?"

Watching the children’s excited faces, Janelle couldn’t help but smile too.

Even though she and the kids had always had a happy life, this moment of harmony and happiness was something she had never felt before.
