Chapter 861: Chapter 861: There Might Be a Monster Inside

Going downstairs to eat fruit, Serena Sullivan deliberately asked about the Ford Family’s banquet.

The Ford Family’s banquet was not the same as before.

Without the Dowager Kane controlling the Ford Family, it was quieter than before, but its status among the major families in the Imperial Capital had plummeted. No matter how much Mrs. Kane socialized or how hard she managed the Kane Group in the future, losing the support of the Sterling Family, and without the Dowager’s prestige, the Ford Family was no longer what it used to be.

"Are you going to the Ford Family’s banquet?"

With Serena’s question, Simon Sterling immediately saw through her thoughts.

Both father and daughter were deep thinkers and could easily discern what others were thinking, unlike Claire Sullivan and Wyatt Sterling, who didn’t have as many twists in their minds.

"I designed a necklace for Miss Monroe, and I should attend as the designer to gain some reputation for myself."

With Serena saying this, Claire nodded, thinking it made some sense.

Wyatt was not too happy; he disliked the Kane Family greatly.

"Sister, there’s nothing worth going to at Miss Monroe’s birthday party. I’ll take you to other events to promote you next time."

As soon as he finished speaking, Simon calmly replied, "Alright."

"Hmm?" Wyatt looked at Simon puzzled, continuing to persuade, "You really can’t go to the Ford Family."

Serena had suffered at the hands of the Ford Family countless times; how could she still go?

"With my brother and father there, how could I suffer any loss?" Serena smiled and replied.

The Ford Family was throwing a birthday party for Nina Monroe. She hadn’t planned to go, but after seeing those photos, she changed her mind.

She had to go, she had to see for herself.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be with Serena all the time." Ethan Grant interjected. Serena clearly didn’t want to attend the Ford Family’s banquet, so her sudden change of heart surprised him.

But Ethan was willing to accompany her in whatever she wanted to do.

"Alright then."

Seeing Simon and Ethan agree, Wyatt didn’t have much else to say.

"Mom is coming too." Serena turned her head to look at Claire, saying.

"Hmm?" Claire was stunned. She was going too?

"I’ll take her with me then." Simon responded straightforwardly.

Serena must have her reasons for doing so, but Simon was very curious to find out.

Serena knew Simon would ask her, but she didn’t want to say anything too soon to Claire, and it didn’t mean much if Wyatt knew, but Simon!

She wanted to hear his thoughts.

Serena had Ethan use the excuse of discussing business to keep Simon, while Claire took the slightly tipsy Wyatt back home.

In the living room, only the three of them remained.

Serena took down the photos Wyatt had given her and handed them to Simon.

Simon took them out to look, and Ethan leaned over as well.

"Who is this?" Ethan didn’t have much impression of Nina Monroe, but Simon, who had met her a few times, recognized her.

Seeing the man in the photo wearing a hat and covered up, Ethan was stunned.

"This is..."

"It’s him." Serena answered, "This is also the reason I need to go to the Ford Family."

"Alright." Simon didn’t say much, various things quickly connecting in his mind.

"If you need my cooperation, just let me know." Simon said, "As for your mom, she can’t be kept in the dark."

Serena wasn’t planning on hiding it from the start. She even thought it would be better to cause a scene at Miss Monroe’s party, although not by her hand.

They had deceived everyone, and she feared there were still things she and others didn’t know about.

The Ford Family’s banquet initially didn’t have many attendees. The Ford Family was not as it was before, and it was just a niece’s birthday. They couldn’t be bothered to attend.

But when the day of the banquet arrived, and they got word that the Sterling Family would attend, their attitudes changed one by one.
