Chapter 1376: Chapter 1370: You Handle Responsibility, I’ll Handle Comfort
"How is that possible? I’ve already promised Vivi that I’ll call her later and invite her to visit us tomorrow."
"You’re really just like a moth to a flame," Joseph Lancaster chuckled helplessly, with a tone full of affection, "Do you think that rebellious son will give in? He certainly isn’t the same as you were in those days."
"I don’t care, he’s my son, so he has to listen to me!" Violet Zimmerman insisted, her face showing a touch of a stubborn little woman’s irrationality.
The warmth in Joseph Lancaster’s foxy eyes grew even stronger, as if he was taken back to over thirty years ago. Back then, she looked just like this, making his heart skip a beat, and he unconsciously held Violet Zimmerman’s hand.
"Alright, I’ll do as you say. Just don’t come looking for me for comfort after running into a wall."
"You’re my man, if I don’t come to you, who else would I go to?" Violet lifted her chin, showing the stubbornness of a little woman.
"Alright, alright, you be responsible, and I’ll be responsible for soothing you," Joseph conceded, putting his arm around Violet to pull her close.
Even though they couldn’t be together every night, they were still a real couple at heart.
The next day, Sophia Hamilton didn’t go to work, partly to rest up more and partly because she didn’t want to see Evander Lancaster’s mother.
Evander had originally arranged to go home in the evening to negotiate with his mother, but he received a call from Nathan Moore at noon, telling him that he was successful in creating life.
Such a "universal celebration" was of course something Nathan Moore wanted to celebrate.
He also invited Nicholas Croft and Felix Shaw and their wives, planning for the group of brothers to have a good gathering.
Evander called Sophia in advance, insisting that he had to bring his woman to a gathering of brothers. Although Sophia refused over the phone, when Evander showed up at her doorstep, she still went with him.
Just yesterday, Nathan Moore and his wife had helped her, so she definitely needed to thank them in person.
When Evander and his wife arrived, Felix and his wife were already at Nathan’s house. Seeing Mia Foster being treated like a queen by Titus Zane, she felt envious and turned her head to coax Felix, "Honey, I want to have a baby too."
"Alright, I’ll do my best tonight," Felix agreed with a smile.
Titus Zane was sitting on the couch, surrounded like a star among moons, with both Nathan Moore and Mia Foster attending to him. Felix leaned on one side wanting to smoke a cigarette, but Nathan shot him a sharp look, "If you’ve got the craving, go outside to smoke!"
Felix wordlessly glanced at his second brother, tossed the cigarette onto the coffee table, and secretly thought to himself, when his wife gets pregnant, he’d also become a wife-doting maniac. By then, not to mention smoking, if anyone raised their voice slightly in front of his wife, he’d put a stop to it!
Sophia followed behind Evander as they walked in. The two were still bickering, and Sophia was ignoring him despite Evander talking to her along the way.
Knowing Sophia had difficulty moving around, after Evander changed into his slippers, he knelt down to help Sophia switch hers. But Sophia pushed him away, and with so many people around, the self-conscious man cursed unhappy, "Stubborn mule, you’re just asking for it!"
Sophia glared at him but still cooperated by sticking her foot out.
"Congrats, Sis Leigh."
Supported by Evander, Sophia walked over while Titus Zane gave Nathan a nudge, "You guys find your own place!"
With his wife’s belly carrying his own flesh and blood, Titus was willing to do anything. So he immediately got up and moved to another couch.
"Come sit, Sophia," Titus Zane waved to Sophia, guiding her to sit down, and Evander also took a seat beside Nathan.
"How are you? Feeling any discomfort?" Titus was still concerned about yesterday’s events.
