Chapter 1374: Chapter 1368: Never Let Her See Her Grandchild for Life

As Juliana Lancaster’s words fell, the air seemed to freeze, and Evander Lancaster stared blankly at his mother-in-law, momentarily unsure how to "explain".

"Why aren’t you speaking? Are you afraid to say something or is it just unspeakable?" Juliana’s attitude was firm, showing no intention of letting it go easily.

Evander pursed his lips, ready to say that his mother had troubled Sophia Hamilton again, but just as he was about to speak, Sophia pushed open the bedroom door.

"Mom, make him leave! I don’t want to see him!"

"Sophia, what’s going on? Tell mom, and mom will stand up for you!" Juliana turned to her daughter; Sophia’s thoughts mirrored Evander’s, fearing that if her mother knew the truth, she would never agree for them to be together.

Walking with a swollen belly, she impatiently pushed Evander away, "Go, go, I don’t want to see you,"

"Alright, alright, calm down, I’ll leave. Isn’t that good enough?" Evander understood Sophia’s intentions and cooperated by being pushed to the door. Before leaving, he said, "Have something to eat and rest early. I’ll call Second Brother, and you won’t be working as his secretary anymore; just focus on a peaceful pregnancy at home."

"Hurry up and leave, stop dawdling!" Sophia was worried her mother would call him back, impatiently rebuking him before pushing Evander out and slamming the door shut.

"Sophia, what’s going on?" Juliana asked coldly. Did they think she was too old and blind to see through their act?

"Mom, please don’t ask."

"No way! You have to make things clear for me today! Otherwise, I’ll call that scoundrel back!"

Juliana slapped the sofa, raising her voice and pointing towards the door, harshly staring at her daughter. It was evident she meant business this time; otherwise, the kind old woman wouldn’t use such harsh words to refer to Evander.

Sophia slowly shuffled over and sat down on the corner of the sofa, hesitantly saying.

"Today... I had a stomach ache, and my mood followed suit. I stirred up Evander for some recognition... He promised to hold a wedding after the baby is born, but... I want his family to acknowledge it too..."

"Hmph! Just now you’re thinking about being recognized by Evander’s family, what were you thinking before?"

Juliana sternly reprimanded, "I told you long ago that we and Evander are not the same people. Did you listen to me? I told you to abort the child, and you accused me of being heartless. Now the die is cast, and only now are you thinking of this, isn’t it too late?"

Sophia, let me tell you, regardless of what happens between you and Evander in the future, you must focus on nurturing the child and give birth to it now.

If the Lancaster Family still won’t acknowledge it, I’ll take care of it myself, never letting that snobbish old woman see my grandchild for life!"

Juliana, too, had been holding back her emotions for a while, leading to such words. Sophia pursed her lips and said, "Mom, I’m hungry."

Though saying this now might seem inappropriate, the baby in her belly was truly hungry, waving its tiny hands and protesting.

Juliana...

Silently glared at her daughter for several seconds before abruptly standing up, heading to the kitchen while saying, "You, as always, have a heart only for eating!"

Watching her mother’s figure head into the kitchen, Sophia breathed a sigh of relief, grateful her mother hadn’t suspected anything.

After leaving his mother-in-law’s house, Evander drove to a store and bought numerous prenatal supplements beneficial for the fetus, even purchasing Fetus Protective Medicine.

Then he went to the supermarket, buying plenty of groceries before driving back, leaving everything behind without lingering.

While descending the stairs, he called his mother, "Mom, I’ll come back this weekend, let’s have a good talk."
