Chapter 98: The World Domination Plan
The prisoner cried out to Amara, saying,
"No, please don’t give me any more chocolate chip cookies! They are not supposed to have nightshade in them!"
Amara nodded her head and made notes, crossing out the nightshade from her cookie recipe. Then Amara moved to the next prisoner as she said to him,
"Now, go ahead and eat this cookie. I need to know if it tastes better. The main ingredients are love and arsenic."
The prisoner looked half-dead from eating sweets, and this was not far from the truth. He foolishly bit into the cookie and swallowed it, then he responded to his captor,
"The taste is good, but the arsenic will probably kill me. But hey, at least I don’t have to eat your terrible cooking anymore."
Amara heard this and crossed out arsenic as an ingredient—not that it could even harm Fate since he is an immortal god. But it still never hurts to become a better cook by admitting your faults and then correcting them.
Amara looked at Ruby as she made her own efforts at making the perfect food for her husband.
The food that Ruby was currently playing around with was brownies—a chocolate treat that Fate could not wait to eat. Ruby’s only problem is that every time she makes them, they somehow turn her taste testers insane. All they talk about is the horror of how good her food tastes.
Ruby was just glad that she was able to get ahold of so many of Count Victor Dupont’s soldiers so that she could test her various food creations on them. But Ruby always kept a log of their reactions to her food.
Ruby could already imagine a future of executing an enemy to death by a thousand cakes. The thought made her truly appreciate the art of cooking and how it can destroy a grown man’s body or save it, depending on her mood.
Looking at her current taste tester, Ruby asked him,
"So, Taste Tester #1221, what are your thoughts on my recent attempts at making brownies for my husband?"
The man looked at Ruby with a stupefied expression and said to her,
"The horror! The horror! I saw things in those brownies, lady—chocolatey abominations that are as delicious as they are deadly. These foul food abominations will destroy the world—mark my words, lady!"
Ruby pursed her lips as she said to Taste Tester #1221,
"#1221, there is no reason to sound so doom and gloom. I already killed all of the abominations that those brownies created. Honestly, I’m not that bad at cooking just because a few of my baked goods can summon some brownie eldritch horror from the eternal plane of chocolatey sweetness."
The Taste Tester only continued to tremble from the psychological trauma of eating Ruby’s food.
Ruby made her notes on this result and crossed out adding demon blood to her brownie mix. In fact, she decided some of her leftovers could be fed to her growing army of living plants in Chaos Infernum, the hell dimension she took control of a while back and where a growing city is being built for the Faithful.
With her research for the day done, Ruby looked to Amara and asked her,
"Amara, how did your research on chocolate chip cookies go?"
Amara stood up proudly and said with pride in her voice to Ruby,
"Ruby, I managed to complete my goal of making chocolate chip cookies that are not only delicious but don’t kill someone when they eat them. All I had to do was remove the arsenic and deadly nightshade. Who knew it would be so simple to make these cookies? I only lost fifty-three test subjects from this new food, unlike last time when we lost over four hundred while developing the cheeseburgers from Fate’s original world. We have come a long way, but still, I think the day we don’t kill someone with our first attempt at cooking is a long way off."
Ruby only pursed her lips at this statement as she admitted her own faults to Amara.
"Well, my brownies have a ways to go, but while exploring this new world of culinary delight, I have discovered that making food and feeding it to our enemies has proven to be a very effective way to torture our enemies. Not only do they tell us their secrets, but we get to give them painful tooth decay in the process. Never mind about the zero percent survival rate—after all, we can’t get lost in the minor details. With this new culinary path unlocked, a whole new avenue of baking warfare is before us now, Amara."
Amara was taking notes on Ruby’s evil tirade so that she could improve her own evil boasting and self-justification for the needless torture of others without the need to feel any guilt at all by justifying it with a vague reason that may never be realized.
Ruby and Amara changed out of their mad scientist coats covered in sugar and blood and dressed back in their normal clothing.
Walking through the grand halls of the Infernal Palace, Ruby looked at the cult she built with her own hands as a smile of pride showed on her face.
In only a few months’ time, she and Amara had created a cult that has spread to every town and city in the province of the Southern Hampshire Plains.
Located under every town in Fate’s territory is a temple dedicated to Fate’s glory and tended to by the Faithful. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Each temple has in charge of it a Sunfire Magistrate, the person in charge of the administration of these smaller worship sites.
Ruby and Amara exited their food testing area and once again sat on their own thrones with the giant idol of Fate behind them. This time, instead of facing each other, Ruby and Amara agreed that their personal thrones needed to face the massive sea of Faithful worshipers at their feet.
Looking to her left, Ruby saw all of the empty thrones and smiled, knowing soon they would be filled with her fellow Sisters of Sorrow.
Ruby looked at Amara and said to her,
"Amara, the preparations for the meeting of the lords are now complete. The food is ready, and the poison is prepared. The fire legion, along with your undead legions led by the dark paladins, are ready to move to wipe out Count Victor Dupont’s army as well as the other nobles’ forces that are currently being gathered by him to stage a rebellion against Fate and his rather relaxed rule of this territory. But our husband leaves these minor details to us to deal with, Amara, so deal with it we shall. I can’t wait to add that idiot’s forces to our undead army."
Amara nodded at this information as she said to Ruby,
"My dark paladins are all skilled necromancers and field commanders capable of controlling vast hordes of undead. Not only are my undead soldiers ready to move, but so is the undead monster legion. We will keep the living monster legion in reserve as well as our own personal forces since they will not be needed to deal with such weaklings. The devils you seized control of in Chaos Infernum have proven to be very capable and powerful cannon fodder for our various labor needs. Since they require no rest, those devils work nonstop. It is little surprise that the City of Sin, as we have named it, is already almost done being built. Its remote location is perfect to allow us to make our next move when we invade the rest of the Kingdom of Westridge and seize control of it from King Samuel Bloodsworn. Our first step toward total world domination."
Ruby nodded in agreement as she said to Amara,
"That’s right. If we want to stop all of these threats against Fate, we will need to conquer the world, either by force or by alliance. Either way, Amara, anyone who refuses to join us will quickly find that they only have a one-way ticket to the executioner’s block waiting for them."
