Chapter 56: Insane Family
The three members exchanged glances before opening the door and stepping inside.
The office was quiet and neatly organized.
Stacks of documents were perfectly arranged on the desk, and the atmosphere itself felt heavy. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Behind the desk sat Aron, calmly reading through a report.
He did not look up immediately and simply asked, "What happened?"
One of the members stepped forward and answered, "Something happened outside the Academy involving Cedric... and Asher."
At the mention of Asher’s name, Aron finally raised his eyes from the documents.
"Explain everything from the beginning," he said calmly.
The three members then started recounting everything that had happened without leaving out a single detail.
The moment they mentioned that Cedric had flipped the table full of food Asher had ordered, Aron let out a sigh.
"You guys should’ve stopped him before he did that. Fuck... now solving this mess is going to be troublesome," Aron said while rubbing his forehead. "I still don’t understand why trouble keeps finding him even though he just wants to enjoy his life peacefully. I guess he really is cursed."
All of them nodded at Aron’s words, agreeing with what he was saying.
Then Aron looked at them and asked, "So where is Cedric’s corpse? And where is Asher? Is he being interrogated by the professors for killing Cedric, or did that troublemaker already leave the Academy after causing this mess?"
All three of them were dumbfounded by Aron’s reaction, unable to understand a single thing he was saying or the reasoning behind it.
One of them finally spoke in disbelief.
"What are you talking about? Cedric is alive. He’s just unconscious right now. Asher only cut off his tongue."
The moment those words left his mouth, the entire office became silent.
Aron stared at the three of them for a few seconds with a strange expression.
Then he asked slowly, "He only cut off his tongue?"
The three members nodded in confusion.
Aron leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh of relief.
"Thank god..." he muttered under his breath.
The three members looked at him as if he had gone insane.
Aron then thought to himself, Did he change, or is it something else?
But he quickly shook his head.
"No way that guy could change this suddenly," he muttered.
Then he looked at the three of them and asked, "Was he in a good mood, or did he find some good dessert or something? Is that why he forgave Cedric by only cutting off his tongue?"
The Three of them looked at Aron like they were looking at some insane and thought "Is there whole family insane or something else".
Then one of them said in a low voice so that Aron could not hear it "I guess the rumour about him were not all false".
But none of them said anything and just stood there.
Then Aron looked at them and asked "So is it everything, or is there anything else you have left report about this"
Then one of them said in a trembling voice, "Also... Asher sent a message for you."
Aron frowned the moment he heard that there was a message from Asher.
"What is it?" he asked.
One of them then repeated Asher’s message to him.
After hearing it, Aron simply sighed and said, "Yeah, I should’ve expected that. There is no way that guy would ever be kind to anyone who gets in his way." Then he paused for a moment before continuing, "But I guess this is still better than what could’ve happened, knowing how he thinks."
Then he looked at the three of them and said, "Thanks. If you guys hadn’t intervened, that idiot might’ve actually ended up dead. But next time, try to make sure a situation like this doesn’t happen again."
The moment he mentioned "next time," all three of them hurriedly spoke at once.
"No way! We’re not doing this again."
"Forget it."
"We’re never going near that insane brother of yours again."
One of them then added with an exhausted expression, "We only got involved this time because you asked us as a favor."
Aron looked at their exhausted expressions and could not help but let out a small laugh.
"You guys are acting as if he personally hunted you down."
One of them immediately replied, "Because being anywhere near him feels dangerous."
Another member nodded quickly and added, "The worst part is that he always looks calm no matter what happens. Cedric was screaming like a madman, and Asher was just sitting there staring at him without changing his expression even once."
The third member shuddered slightly after remembering the scene.
"And after cutting off Cedric’s tongue, he simply stood up and left like nothing had happened."
Aron rubbed his forehead after hearing that.
"Yeah... that definitely sounds like him."
Then one of them asked, "What should we do about this incident?"
Aron looked at him and replied, "Nothing. Just treat it as if nothing happened today. No one died or suffered any permanent injury, so there is no need to take action against anyone."
Then he let out a sigh and continued, "I just need to inform the head of the Silvermere family about Asher’s message and the punishment his son received. That alone is definitely going to create problems for me."
One of the members hesitated for a moment before asking carefully, "Do you think the Silvermere family will accept this quietly?"
Aron looked at him as if he had asked something obvious.
"Of course not."
Then he let out another tired sigh and leaned back in his chair.
Then he said, "But they can’t simply influence the Academy, and Cedric was the one who started everything, so there is nothing to worry about."
One of the members nodded slowly after hearing Aron’s words.
"That’s true, but the Silvermere family still won’t stay quiet after this."
Aron gave a small nod in agreement.
Then he replied, "They won’t do much since it was only their second son, who already has a very bad public image. For someone like him, they wouldn’t dare risk angering one of the strongest families on the continent."
