Chapter 435: Chapter 139: The World Is a Prison (Part 3)
He didn’t like to speculate on Xu Xingguang’s thoughts in his heart.
When she was discovered, Xu Xingguang didn’t hide it either. She said, "I found something that shocked me." Without giving Huo Wen’an the chance to ask for specifics, Xu Xingguang suggested, "Brother A Zui, let’s go stargazing tonight."
The air quality on Divine Concealment Island is good, and at night you can see the vast starry sky just by looking up.
Upon hearing this, Huo Wen’an proposed, "We can go to the observation platform on the trail behind the Pilot Mansion, it’s the best viewing spot." After a pause, Huo Wen’an added, "If you want to drink, we can bring some alcohol."
"Okay."
Andariel and Huo Canghai had already had lunch, but to accompany the two children, they still sat at the dining table and took a couple of bites.
Huo Canghai was getting older and couldn’t eat much, so he only tried a bit of soup and didn’t touch the dishes on the table further. But he didn’t leave, sitting at the table the whole time, listening to Huo Wen’an and Andariel talk.
It was obvious that he cared a lot for his youngest son, Huo Wen’an, yet transitioning from the role of a grandfather to a father suddenly made him a bit unaccustomed.
As a grandfather, he could always rely on the authority of a ’grandfather’ to bicker with Huo Wen’an. Now that he was a father, he felt a sense of guilt towards Huo Wen’an, making his speech more cautious.
Huo Wen’an was listening attentively to Andariel share the happy times when Huo Canghai pursued her, when suddenly a piece of stir-fried tripe was added to his plate.
The atmosphere at the table became mysteriously silent.
Huo Wen’an looked up at Huo Canghai.
Huo Canghai’s chopsticks hadn’t been put down yet, and noticing both Huo Wen’an and Andariel looking at him, he appeared slightly awkward but pretended to ask nonchalantly, "I remember you like eating tripe."
Huo Wen’an did indeed like this dish.
But it had been ten years since he returned to Divine Concealment Island, and this was the first time Huo Canghai had picked up food for him.
Seeing Huo Canghai’s awkwardness, Huo Wen’an nodded and said lightly, "I really like it."
Huo Canghai quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Huo Wen’an also picked up the serving chopsticks and placed some vegetables onto Huo Canghai’s plate, "These vegetables are sweet and crispy. Try some." He placed the greens in Huo Canghai’s bowl.
Huo Canghai was both shocked and flattered.
Despite having not eaten much earlier, he picked up the chopsticks and ate the bit of green vegetables thoroughly.
Andariel watched their interaction with warmth in her heart.
Xu Xingguang also lowered her head, smiling slightly with pursed lips.
At this moment, Belial approached with quick yet graceful steps, bending down to say to Huo Canghai, "Sir, Huo Wei has already landed on the island."
Huo Canghai put down the chopsticks, a murderous intent quickly covered his aged face, he said, "Wen’an, little girl, you continue eating. Lili, you stay with them."
Andariel frowned and said to him, "Huo Jingchen only has this one child. Old Huo, if you can spare his life, please do so."
Although her son Huo Wen’an was still alive and his illness had been cured, Andariel was deeply aggrieved by what Huo Wei had done, but she didn’t wish for Huo Canghai to take Huo Wei’s life.
After all, Huo Wei was Huo Canghai’s nephew.
Upon hearing this, a trace of hostility faded from Huo Canghai’s eyes, he said, "I know."
Huo Wen’an suddenly said, "Bring him to the Moon Palace. I also want to see him."
Huo Canghai hesitated for a moment, then said to Belial, "Inform them to take Huo Wei to the ’Snake Cave.’"
"Yes, sir."
Huo Wei was soon brought over. The Moon Palace had a dedicated interrogation room. Huo Canghai asked Belial to accompany Andariel for a walk in the back mountain; he was going to the interrogation room to question Huo Wei.
Huo Wen’an asked Xu Xingguang, "Xingguang, are you coming with me to the interrogation room, or are you going for a walk in the back mountain with Mom?"
Xu Xingguang said, "I’ll go to the back mountain with Her Highness."
"Alright."
Watching Xu Xingguang and Andariel walking the hunting dog to the back mountain, Huo Wen’an then went with Huo Canghai to the interrogation room.
The interrogation room was no longer underground; it was behind the warehouse, an independent interrogation building.
Huo Wei was taken to the second floor of the interrogation building, to the room on the far left. The walls of the room had many thumb-thick holes, and behind the openings was a wall made of pure iron. Behind the iron wall, countless venomous snakes were kept.
Huo Wei was most afraid of snakes.
He was bound to an iron chair, his arms tied behind his back and fixed to the chair. His legs were spread apart and bound to either side of the chair legs.
Huo Wei was awakened by a basin of ice water being poured over him.
He shivered in shock, opening his eyes to see the coldly indifferent Huo Canghai sitting in a wheelchair.
Seeing Huo Canghai, Huo Wei’s pupils trembled faintly.
Upon clearly seeing Huo Wen’an, who was sitting in a wheelchair next to Huo Canghai, Huo Wei’s body involuntarily shuddered, a boundless fear rising in his heart.
Huo Wen’an!
It seemed that the rumors weren’t wrong, and this Yama, Huo Wen’an, was indeed brought back.
Who had such great capability?
