Chapter 411: Chapter 413: Holding the Door

Now came the nerve-wracking part. The ghost on the Ferris wheel was slowly descending. He looked down at Su Nian with a superior air, as if victory was already in his grasp.

He was utterly brazen, thinking his little snack had arrived. He completely failed to notice the Ferris wheel was slowly descending, but Su Nian was already waiting for him down below.

She wasn’t afraid. She wouldn’t run.

The ghost was high up. Standing there, he let out a cold smile. He was getting way too into character; right now, he felt like a reborn, domineering CEO.

Even though he was pitch-black all over, he thought he looked pretty cool.

He hadn’t seen the scene of Su Nian beating up the other ghosts. He was too far away. In life, he’d been nearsighted.

His vision hadn’t improved in death. He stood there, a hint of superiority in his expression.

’Is this the delicious morsel they sent for me today?’

’She looks pretty good!’

Things were blurry. All he could see was a pale blob that looked like a woman standing there.

He didn’t notice the ghost-kebab Su Nian was holding up.

He was too busy rubbing his hands in anticipation, his cool and aloof ’domineering CEO’ facade almost crumbling as he carefully swallowed his saliva.

As the Ferris wheel slowly descended with a CREAK... CREAK... he let out an eager, savage grin.

The first thing he saw was an unnaturally pale little face.

It was very pretty, and her smile seemed gentle.

’Why isn’t she afraid of me?’

But then his gaze shifted, and he saw the giant skewer she was holding. It wasn’t skewered meat—it was skewered ghosts.

They were ghosts, impaled one after another on the same stick.

It was incredibly crowded. Two Little Ghosts on it were sobbing uncontrollably, crying for their mommy.

Su Nian still had that same smile on her face, but to the ghost, the feeling it gave off was now completely different.

’Why is her smile so damned terrifying?’

He cautiously glanced again at the huge skewer in her hand, and his heart sank.

’This is bad!’

’I have to run!’

He spun around and tried to flee, wanting to get back into the Ferris wheel car.

His reaction was extremely fast. He bolted in just a few seconds.

But the next car hadn’t stopped yet. He grew frantic, watching her get closer and closer, as if she was about to skewer him, too, in the next second.

The ghost’s face was still black, but now you could faintly see it had turned a little pale.

But it seemed he had a sliver of luck. The next Ferris wheel car SQUEAKED to a stop beside him.

He scrambled aboard, and Su Nian picked up her pace. She still looked benevolent and innocent.

Her impossibly beautiful eyes watched him, a smile dancing within them.

The ghost relaxed a little. ’I’ve made it this far... I should be safe now, right?’

He muttered to himself, unable to stop shivering.

A wave of joy from his successful escape washed over him, and he couldn’t help but start cursing.

’What kind of demon is she?! Why would they send something like this? She doesn’t look like she eats people, but she definitely eats ghosts!’

He thought he’d narrowly escaped disaster and smugly praised himself.

"Good thing I’m fast!"

’That demon can’t possibly wait here for me forever.’

But to his horror, he suddenly realized his car wasn’t moving an inch. There was no sign of it turning at all.

Even more bizarrely, it seemed the entire Ferris wheel had stopped.

He stiffly turned his head and saw a slender, pale hand gripping the door handle.

Su Nian, with her own strength, was holding the door shut.

Sweat poured frantically from the ghost’s forehead.

The scene was absolutely mind-blowing.

It was completely unexpected. To put it crudely, it was like seeing a delicate, fragile little girl suddenly pull something out, only to find it’s bigger than yours.

In that moment, this was exactly the image of Su Nian in the ghost’s eyes.
