Chapter 390: Chapter 392: 6 Minutes Left
[What’s up with the Host? Everything seems perfectly normal!]
[Don’t tell me there’s a fugitive on the bus?]
[As crazy as it sounds, for this channel, it almost seems normal.]
[Talk about bad luck! But everyone looks perfectly ordinary to me.]
I Love Work was confused. She tilted her head and looked around. A downpour had started outside, but the people inside the bus were all quiet. ’How could there be a fugitive here?’
She was a bit dismissive, but then she recalled an ironclad rule: whoever won the Host’s lucky draw was usually a jinx.
She was happy she had won, which proved she had stood out among hundreds of thousands of people. She had the best luck! But as for being a jinx, she was both wary of the idea and starting to believe it.
Her expression grew a little strange after she glanced around the bus.
"Don’t be ridiculous, you guys. Most of the people on this bus are just like me—commuters who just got off work. There’s no one strange here."
She lifted her phone, holding it close to her mouth as she whispered.
Su Nian watched the screen, her expression placid, as if her emotions hadn’t wavered in the slightest. Her eyes were so deep and serene they seemed capable of pulling a person right in.
"Everyone on this bus will be dead in ten minutes."
Su Nian’s tone was flat, but her words landed like a bombshell, instantly causing a massive stir.
There were quite a few commuters on the bus, two of whom were standing right next to the young woman.
Though they had been dozing, they snapped their heads up the moment they heard her words.
They glared menacingly at I Love Work, but at that moment, she didn’t notice in the slightest.
She covered her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Is this for real? It can’t be... I take this bus every time I work overtime. Nothing has ever gone wrong, and there’s hardly ever any traffic on this route!"
She rambled incoherently, more out of disbelief than anything else.
At the same time, she noticed the looks she was getting from the people around her.
Hearing such a curse out of the blue, the other passengers’ faces all turned grim.
I Love Work was embarrassed, but her heart was pounding.
She had been watching Su Nian’s streams for some time now. Though not a long-time fan, she liked to watch whenever she had a free moment.
She knew Su Nian had never been wrong before. Her heart was racing. Even as she tried to argue, deep down, she already believed most of it.
Su Nian glanced at the clock on her screen, her eyes on the ticking hands. Her tone grew even colder.
"Another three minutes have passed. In seven minutes, there will be an accident up ahead."
"N-N-No way! Host?"
I Love Work started to panic. As a commuter, being exhausted after a long day was one thing. Working overtime until midnight was another. But hearing something like this on the bus was just too much.
Sweat beaded on her forehead, her vision began to blur, and even her calves started to tremble uncontrollably.
’Should I tell the driver to stop? What reason could I possibly give?’
’I can’t just say I was watching a fortune-telling streamer who said the bus would crash and everyone would die, so he has to stop the bus!’
’That’s not right, either.’ She was overcome with anxiety, her forehead covered in sweat. Her lips turned pale and began to tremble.
[No way. Could she be wrong?]
[The Host has never been wrong. We have to figure out a way to make the bus stop.]
[What about calling the police?!]
[I’m used to this stream. My go-to is to call the police whenever something bad is about to happen. I just called them, but they told me to stop causing trouble!]
[Sigh, so it’s completely useless!]
Su Nian’s voice was firm, ringing with a dread that made one’s heart tremble.
"In one minute, a black car will approach from ahead. The bus will be driving onto an overpass. The driver of the black car will suddenly pass out, and their vehicle will go out of control, crashing into your bus. The bus will swerve to avoid the collision, but with the road slick from the rain, it will fall off the side through the guardrail."
The moment Su Nian mentioned the overpass, the young woman believed her completely.
She remembered clearly that the bus was, in fact, about to get on the overpass.
It was her favorite view on the whole bus route, a scene she always appreciated. The bridge was high, and below it lay a beautiful little park.
If she was ever lucky enough to get a window seat, she would put on her headphones and savor this rare moment of peace and relaxation. Now, however, the color drained from her face.
She knew the road was indeed very slippery after the rain, and the bus was driving close to the edge. If a car really were to crash into them, the driver would instinctively swerve.
Any miscalculation while swerving, and they would very likely plunge off the overpass!
Her face was ashen. She fought the urge to rush forward and grab the driver’s steering wheel.
"Pfft!"
"That’s a pretty exciting story you’ve made up!"
The young man standing next to I Love Work scoffed.
"What a load of crap. All you know is how to talk out of your ass! It’s just raining a little harder, and here you are, spouting nonsense about the lives of everyone on this bus."
But Su Nian merely gave him an indifferent glance, her lips barely moving. "There are now five minutes left."
