Chapter 1730: Chapter 1280: She’s Depressed
Sonia came out of the bathroom after freshening up and saw Diya sitting in front of the floor mirror with her legs spread. She opened the fridge, saw it was crammed full of pineapple juice, casually took out a bottle, drank it, and then karate-chopped Diya on the head.
"Ah! Sword Maiden, what are you doing this early in the morning?!"
"I should be the one asking that! Even if you’re feeling frisky in the morning, you should go back to your room, why are you doing it in front of the mirror here? You pervert Witch!"
"You misunderstood!" The Witch sighed, with a look of ’I forgive your ignorance,’ explained, "I wasn’t in heat, I just wanted to take a look at myself!"
Sonia looked speechless, "Isn’t that even more perverted? And why did you suddenly want to look? Have you finally become so narcissistic that you think every part of your body is flawless?"
"I’ve always been a beautiful girl from every angle!" Diya proclaimed proudly, "I just wanted to check if it was an illusion..."
Sonia: "What illusion?"
"Well... I felt so comfortable last night as if I had made a Puff pastry." Diya closed her eyes, her pretty face gradually turning rosy, "I can still recall that warm flow..."
"And you say you’re not in heat in the morning!" Sonia gave her a hard knock on the head, annoyed, "And don’t bring dream elements into reality. Even if you wanted to make Puff pastries, there’s no one here who can provide cream for you. Seriously... How can someone become dumber after becoming a Demigod..."
Diya rubbed her head, looked at Sonia with a subtle gaze, her lips curled up into a smug smile. Sonia felt a bit uneasy with her look, "What now?"
"Nothing, I only feel that the idea of Puff is something I figured out with difficulty, yet Sword Maiden, you immediately grasped my meaning." Diya cradled her face with her hands, gazing charmingly at Sonia, "We’re truly such good teammates who can please each other."
"Liss hasn’t woken up yet?"
"She’s awake, listening intently to our conversation."
"And you dare to speak!" Sonia couldn’t help pinching her cheek, "On other occasions, fine, but when Liss is around, at least behave and don’t lead the kid astray!"
"Got it, got it," Diya whimpered for mercy, and after Sonia loosened her grip, she rubbed her cheek and muttered, "Geez, more concerned about Liss than I am... Are you her mom?"
"Get up and change clothes, Silver Lamp and Ghost are waiting." Sonia kicked the Witch’s butt with her stockinged foot, "You don’t intend to train in that Bride outfit, do you?"
Diya stood up and hugged the Sword Maiden coquettishly, "Help me change clothes! Today I want to wear the Ye Kai Demon-set!"
"Alright." Sonia relented, lovingly ruffling the Witch’s hair, "You’re the one treating me like a mom..."
They changed into their clothes and went to the dining room, where Weiser, Vishi, Felix, and Dedarose were already having breakfast. They sat down, and Sonia asked, "Did Siflin find a training ground for us?"
"Miss Siflin found an undeveloped wilderness 50 kilometers outside the city," Dedarose said, "Yesterday she handled the paperwork to put it under her name. As long as no natural disasters occur, the Honorable Seats can freely study Magic in that wilderness."
"With such restrictions, it’s hardly ’freely’..." Vishi spun pasta on her fork, bored, "And if my Soul faction wants to study freely, this city is the best venue—"
"Ghost." Sonia glanced at her.
"I’m just saying." Vishi spread her hands, "Master, you’ve got me locked here."
"But indeed, we cannot exert ourselves fully." Weiser said, "With our current power, even unintentionally, we could easily cause meteorological changes and geological disasters. Vacation recovery under the Blood Moon is one thing, but if we want to train freely..."
"We can only return to Senluo." Sonia pondered, "Only absolute wilderness can withstand the aftermath of our cultivation. We already have a massive gap with the four Divine Lords due to their millennia of accumulation. We can only rely on cultivation to catch up. If even cultivation is restricted, our growth efficiency might be slower than their accumulation."
"And it has to be fast." Vishi also revived her spirit a bit, "Nobody knows when Supreme Star will fully grasp the seventh layer of the Void Realm. Once her attention shifts from it, that’s when the endgame of conflicts begins... We must seize this time to ascend to a Divine Lord and pull the old-world Divine Lords off their thrones, enter Heaven, and become the new-world Divine Lords, only then can we negotiate with Supreme Star in the endgame."
"The power of a single Divine Lord can never match a Supreme, even if united the hope is slim... But if we fail to ascend before the endgame, then this era will likely be unable to progress past the Five-winged stage. Given Supreme Star’s present strength, if she aims to seal Heaven, no one would dare to touch the throne."
"The most extreme scenario would be only the Supreme and no Divine Lords." Vishi’s voice turned chill, "As long as there’s no Six-winged Mage, no one can threaten the absolute domination of the Seven-winged Supreme!"
The atmosphere fell silent for a moment, Diya munched on an egg, chewing and speaking, "Do you really have to discuss grand schemes so early in the morning? Doesn’t it spoil your appetite?"
Sonia indicated to wrap it up, focusing on tackling the fiery La La Fat. Although having such a hearty breakfast seems unhealthy, given how much energy she expended last night, Sonia felt a bit sore in the lower back upon waking up, urging her to eat something good.
"Is your target the four Divine Lords?"
At that moment, Felix puzzledly asked, "Shouldn’t it be Supreme Star?"
The group was taken aback for a moment, exchanged looks, then Sonia said, "Our ultimate goal is, of course, Supreme of Magic, but none of us have Supreme Void Wings, lacking even the qualification to challenge Supreme Star. Only after dealing with the Divine Lords, entering Heaven, and finding a way to consolidate Supreme Void Wings, can we vie for the power of Supreme of Magic."
"Hmm..." Felix bit the fork and nodded, "That makes sense..."
"Ah~~~" The Witch said lazily, "If we’re really going to start cultivation, I don’t want to! Can’t we extend the vacation a bit!"
"You’re not tired of it yet." Sonia laughed. "I’ve been cooped up for days; don’t you think practicing magic is more interesting?"
"It is interesting, but it’d be even better if I could boost my skills without having to do anything!"
Weiser propped her chin up with a smile. "At least yesterday you wore a wedding dress and had a blast all day. Maybe work a little today?"
"Alright." Diya reluctantly patted her face to perk up, looked at Sonia, and said, "Speaking of which, Sword Maiden, the bridal dress you prepared was perfect for me. Where did you get it made? I want to buy a few sets."
Sonia, amused and exasperated, replied, "You want to buy a few wedding dresses? Planning on that many weddings?"
"They can be battle attire, pretty and charming is a great advantage!" Diya giggled.
Sonia thought for a moment, "I think it’s a treasure from the Void Realm and not bought."
"Think?" Diya blinked.
But she didn’t ask further, and after breakfast, they went downstairs, ready to take the floating car for a wild ride in the wilderness. Though they could fly there, after days of top-notch pampering, they were still in a lazy vacation mood. Taking a car was easier than moving themselves, and they’d need a few days of training to get back to their usual high-efficiency style.
Sonia got in first and sat in the middle, while Weiser and Vishi sat on either side of her. Without a spot, Diya had to sit opposite, irritably munching the snacks on the table.
"Actually, this seat is quite spacious." Sonia casually remarked.
"Yeah." Weiser said. "The Witch could sit over here too; it’s only five people that would feel crowded. Since we have time, Sword Maiden, why don’t you lie down?"
"Huh?"
A moment later, Sonia lay sideways on Weiser’s silk-clad lap, as Weiser used a silver ear pick to clean her ears. Her legs rested on Vishi’s maid skirt while Vishi removed her short boots and socks, massaging her feet.
"Vishi."
"Hmm?"
"Actually, I wanted to ask earlier," Sonia inquired, "Why are you wearing a maid outfit?"
Vishi looked at her somewhat oddly. "Haven’t I always worn maid outfits?"
"So why do you always wear maid outfits?"
"Obviously, because I’m a pervert who likes wearing maid outfits, definitely not because I’m a maid." Vishi paused. "I must declare, even I wouldn’t wear a wedding dress all the time in daily life, no matter how beautiful it is."
"I wasn’t asking you to change clothes..."
Sonia suddenly sat up, leaving Weiser and Vishi puzzled as she waved her hand. "I’m not used to this... Is this how we interacted before?"
"That depends on how long ago you’re referring to." Vishi said. "Since the developers’ conference at Senluo, we’ve been pretty much like this, haven’t we?"
Sonia murmured, "Seems so..."
"Actually, touching you both revived Sword Maiden’s memories from last night." Diya giggled. "Sword Maiden, you’re not unaccustomed; you’re shy. Now’s the time to revisit old memories, seize the moment, break through embarrassment, and the floating car space is just right—"
Buzz—
The sunroof suddenly opened, and a small bat flew in from outside and transformed into a black-haired red-eyed girl, her breathing quick and cheeks flushed, obviously having rushed all the way here. "Sorry, something urgent happened this morning, so I’m late."
"It’s okay; we’re not in a hurry." Sonia asked, "What was the emergency? Where’s Freyja?"
"It was Freyja’s urgent matter." Siflin sat down, poured herself a glass of wine, and drank it all, saying gradually, "I live with Freyja now. This morning, I finished freshening up, and she still hadn’t come out. When I went in, I found her..."
Everyone immediately tensed up. "What happened to her?"
"She’s fine, just sitting quietly by her bed, and still capable of communicating with me." Siflin explained, "But you all know, for her, ’quiet’ is the biggest anomaly, so I thoroughly checked her out and found she had a mental issue."
"What issue?" the most authoritative mental health expert Vishi asked. "Was she hit mentally in the Void Realm last night, had her soul injured, or was her mind polluted? Or did her Spirit Mage cultivation have a mishap? Since it’s a faction that seeks inwardly, Spirit Mages have a higher risk of unintentionally harming themselves..."
"It’s not as serious as that. Her specific symptoms are low mood, slow thinking, reduced will activity, cognitive function impairment."
"In simple terms," Siflin said, "she’s depressed."
