Chapter 38: Weiss
"Why me?"
That was the question Weiss asked her kidnapper when that woman was breathing her last.
"Why you...?" The previous Witch Queen chuckled. "It’s because you’re the scariest being I have seen in my life."

Everything in the world turned black. Every single thing disappeared.
A white, almost chalk-like outline made out the figures of everything else, while the color of mana in everything revealed itself to her. Weiss’ purple eyes widened, seeing the ’true’ nature of the world.
Mana was every where. In swords and blades, in the air, and most importantly, in people.
"DIE EVIL WITCH—"
"WEISS GET OUT—"
Weiss snapped her fingers.
The magic fireball forming near her Butler’s palm disappeared first. It was her mana in the first place. How it was there, and how he had managed to make a spell out of it despite having not the smallest drop of mana in his body was very puzzling.
She’ll deal with that later.
First...
She looked at the man reaching for her neck with a sword of divine mana.
The man stopped.
No.
All mana in the entire room stopped completely.
"[Halt]" Weiss muttered. Her purple eyes glanced down at her butler again.
Like a drawing on a blackboard she saw his blood scratchily pour out of his body. Even if she wanted to stop the bleeding it was impossible. That bastard had no mana in his body.
Rage.
Rage started to fill her.
The tips of her hair stood at the end.
Mana inside a person was a subject to their ’will.’ Just like the CEF’s Retribution allowed them to hijack the will of another.
The Witch Queen could completely overpower them too.
She snapped her fingers again.
"Huh...?"
The Bishop let out the echo of a voice.
This bastard. This bastard had dared to step into her home, and then hurt her butler under her nose. Whatever sorcery he was using to hide himself from her detection. She cared little.
"Move."
The bishop’s body flew. The very mana inside his veins pulled his muscles along. He slammed into the walls first.
Back into the air, then again.
A wet sound came as his body smashed into the walls of the room over and over.
She swung her hand ahead. The Grim Palace started to shift, the ceiling and the cut walls opened up with another wave of her palm.
The Bishop flew high into the sky. She could see beyond the Palace, in all directions.
There was more than a single of these assholes. The mana of everyone around her registered directly. All the mana around, it was all hers to control.
Mana Magic. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
If all magic came from Mana, then Weiss was the owner of all magic.
The controller, the owner, the overseer of mana.
One of these bastards had gone toward the other side of the building, Delka, the little beastkin was being brutally beaten up, but he put his all in and tried to come this way.
At the ground, the Living Armors and the Golems were also fighting, and on the lower floor Treska.
All their mana, she could see directly. All of them were worryingly trying to come here.
It pissed her off.
With another wave of her hands, the top of the Grim Palace fully opened up.
"AAAH! AAAAAAAAH!"
The Bishop flew high into the sky, his screams stopping all the CEF members on the ground. All of them heard the screams.
"[Twist]" she said.
It started.
Like a fan, slowly, the Bishop’s hands moved. From left to right, then behind, his entire torso turned.
Over.
Then again.
Like a ragged cloth, in all 360 degrees, one loop.
"AHhhh...!!!"
Then a second. A third. Fourth... Fifth Sixth Seventh tenth... twenty... 100...
His body twisted on itself more than hundreds of time, the legs moving left and the torso moving right. Blood squeezed out of him, every single inch of his skin and muscles first tore open, then merged with his organs as a rain of crimson blood fell from the skies.
Revival? Divinity? Those things didn’t even register.
Fear gripped the hearts of every member of the CEF as their leader turned into a blob of flesh.
Dawn had come.
The sun was rising.
Weiss stepped closer to the window and saw the sky. All fighting had stopped. Everyone’s eyes had come to the sky where the Bishop floated.
With another snap of her fingers, all the mana that came into the skies as sunlight coalesced for a second. A giant beam of sunlight formed.
And turned the blob of flesh into dust.
Forever gone.
Weiss took a deep breath. Softly.
"Kill them all," she said. Her voice was carried over by the mana, to everyone’s ears. Jake and John, the Golems, to Treska and Delka as well.
The little boy would need some help. That aide was nothing.
From this distance, she snapped her fingers again, and hijacked the mana running through his body.

His neck snapped backward. It was over.
Weiss’ hair returned to normal, and so did her vision. She pursed her lips and looked at her Butler.
’why me...?’ she had once asked.
From her real parents, to the woman who stole her away.
Everyone was scared of her.
If that was what her fate was, she was completely okay with it.
"Butler... you’ll live, right?" she leaned down in a rush and tried to place a hand on his wound, when he grabbed her palm with both his hands.
"Fuck... yeah! What the hell was that...?" He winced through the pain. "OOOH... Woah... you were so fucking cool!"
"C-c-cool? Is now the time? Will you be alive!?"
"Oh yeah... just another wound. Happens all the time..." Saying those words, the Butler’s head lost strength and he fell against the wall.
"Butler! Butler! Wake up!!" Weiss screamed. fгeewebnovёl.com
His head snapped back up and he looked around. "Fuccccccckkk!! Almost went into shock. Ouch ouch ouch. Actually, do you mind grabbing that cloth from there? I’ll tie it."
Weiss panicked and stood up, she moved over to the bed, then rushed back.
"Wait, I’ll get you a potion! Damn it, even that won’t work"
[It will!]
A book flew straight in front of her eyes, with those words etched on it. There was a hole in the middle of the book, just like in her butler’s stomach.
[You just need to kiss him while at it]
"What in the world is going on...?"
Even the Witch Queen was not free from such troubles.
The sun had risen.
Blood kept flying out in the Grim Palace’s garden as the CEF lost all its morale and the Grim Palace Residents, sure of their leader’s safety, focused on what they did best.
Killing.
A peaceful day was on the way.
