Chapter 75: Chapter 75 New Enemies

The Third Person’s POV

Ellie closes the door to Abby’s room, hastening to the crowd gathered further ahead in the hallway. She put her hands on her hips.

"You, you, you, you and you. My office. Now!" She growls at them, not giving any openings for argument. Jason lifts an eyebrow at her demeanor. Ellie only looks back, daring him to say anything on the matter.

"I am coming too." Willow says, walking towards the stairs before Ellie can protest. Jax follows her closely, and Jasper gives a salute before joining them. She knows they will want to be there, but she had hoped they could solve this with only the mate pairs.

Her hands caress her stomach tenderly before she looks at the other pack members present. They all tell her it’s good to have her back, and then hurry down the stairs to join in on the commotion downstairs. Ellie recognizes the new pack house and concludes they were moving in. She sighs.

Jason has stayed behind the others. He is worried about his mate. She is a trooper, but he can see the events have taken their toll on her. When her hands reach for her beautifully swollen stomach, he reaches out to her.

"Ellie, this can wait. We need to keep them away from each other for a while, and then Jonathan and his crazy mate need to figure things out. They can just rejc."

"One more word out of your mouth and you are staying in the old packhouse without me!" Ellies says with narrow eyes. Jasmin is not crazy, and if she reacted strongly to someone, then there has to be a reason.

Willow has been filling Ellie in on her new family from down below, via their sibling mind-link. Their mother created it when they were little, so they could always communicate with each other. Even over distance.

"But Adriana is a sweet girl. She is innocent in whatever that demon girl thinks she’s done." Jason knew the moment he stopped talking, he had made a huge mistake. Ellie’s eyes glowed with anger as she swirled around on him.

"So, just because she is from the underworld, she is ’that demon girl?’ How dare you judge her like that? Huh? How long have you known that Adriana? You know so much about her that she is innocent without question? Well, newsflash Mr. Alpha. I will not let her off the hook, just because she has a pretty face and doe eyes. You can come with me, or not. I don’t care. But you are not to come anyway near me! I am also ’just a demon girl’ after all." Her finger poking in his chest, tears streaming down her cheeks, she makes him feel smaller and smaller with every word.

Her words sting like a knife to the heart. He should never had called the unfamiliar woman ’that demon girl’ it was so damn stupid on his part. And of course she was right. He didn’t really know Adriana all that well, having only met her that day, but he was so sure she was innocent in the accusations made against her. Jonathan thought the same thing and was already protective of his best friend’s mate. Hell, he even protected her over his own mate.

Jason contemplated these things while following behind Ellie to the elevator. When he made to go in after her, she stopped him and the doors closed in his face. It took him a full 10 seconds to comprehend what had happened, before he chuckled and walked to the stairs. Damn. He had really royally fucked up this time.

As he walked to Ellie’s office, he could hear raised voices. People were shouting at each other in there, and he sighed before entering. This was not what he wanted to do now that his mate was finally back.

"What the fuck is happening in here?" He yells, his voice mixing with Draco’s. Both his beta and gamma look down in shame when his stare turns to them.

The unfamiliar woman rolls her eyes.

"First. We need names. I can’t keep calling you the unfamiliar woman in my head. And who is the guy beside you?" Jason asks, as he drags a chair to sit down beside Ellie. But she is not having any of it, moving her own chair away from him.

’Angel, I am so sorry! I never meant to offend you or your heritage. It was a slip of the tongue, and it will never happen again. Please, Ellie. I am so, so sorry!’ If he had to beg for her forgiveness, or at least just to be close to her, he would do it any day, any time.

’You are not forgiven so easily, but okay,’ she replies while moving a little closer to him. Jason, not satisfied, grabs her chair and moves it the rest of the way towards him.

"My name is Jasmin. This is my brother Jasper and my other brother Maximillian, known as Jax. We are the royal siblings of the King of Deam Inferna." Jasmin says in a matter-of-fact way. Her eyes never leaving Adriana.

Jason nods. Okay, so this explains a lot. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"What is your issue with Adriana? If I may ask?" Everyone watches as Jasmin’s eyes turn golden yellow before she closes them. When she opens them again, they are back to ice-blue.

"She is the one responsible for my first mate to reject me." Jasmins says, venom dripping from her voice as she spits the bitter words out.

Adriana shakes her head, her body juddering.

"No! I. I. I didn’t. She said. But I didn’t know. I. Jasmin, I’m so sorry. Had I known, I would never. I felt it too. She said you were stealing him. And I believed her. I felt the sparks.. I felt them too." Adriana had started to cry so loud her words drowned out.

Jasmin looked at the crying girl. Dread spreading through her veins. Had she been played too?

"Who told you what, Adriana?" She asks as kindly as she can. She needs answers and closure. But in some part of her, she knows. Adriana was a victim. As much as her.
