Chapter 68: Chapter 68 Preparation
Matt’s POV
The girls have been away for days now. All of us are going slightly stir crazy. Benjamin and Daemon have both gone home to their own packs to prepare for the Alpha gathering.
I have buried myself into pack work that needed to be done and have been overdue because of certain circumstances. I have slept little since they took Abby and Ellie. Not being able to sleep beside my mate has been giving me many nightmares.
Blade has been on edge as well. He woke just enough for the two of us to be able to communicate, but will not be awakened fully before Abby is back with us.
Holding on the little thread of connection with Galaxy. He has been feeling what Galaxy has been feeling. And we keep assuring one another that they are not in any danger for the moment. Mostly Abby feels annoyed, which I can’t blame her for.
On the fourth day of them being in the underworld, I am talking to the contractor about the new pack house. It has been underway for four months now, and with the help of Morgan’s witch coven, they have finished it already. I call for Jason to come to the site and inspect it with me.
It might seem pointless and trivial, but I can’t just sit around in my room, waiting for my mate to come back. And I can’t travel to where she is either. This is the best way to keep myself from going total bonkers.
I have also upped my training. Every day, I spar with Jason, my father and Kennock. We have been sparing in both human and wolf form. Getting to know Jason’s wolf Draco more. We then eat a hearty breakfast, and Jason and I go our separate way to do pack stuff.
We still have much to do before the packs are fully united, but we are under way. The council has accepted the name change and added it to the pack books. Not that they had any choice once they realised who Abby, and I were, but it was funny to see them argue and then submit grudgingly. I have my suspicions we will have trouble with them in the future. They have been the ultimate power, judge and jury for over a century and now they will have to consult with us before a sentence or decision is made. Nope, we are definitely going to have trouble with them.
Jason came to the pack house, grinning like a fool. I had to ask.
"Care to share the joke, bro?" Jason looks at me, his eyes dancing in joy. It’s the most lively I’ve seen him since the girls disappeared.
"We can have this finished before the girls come back, maybe. Aaaaaand. I uhm. I have something to share with you, but you’ll have to keep your mouth shut about it. Well, your sister will have to know, cus you know they will have more of a clue of what to do in this situation. But you have to keep it from Ellie. I want it to be a surprise for her. Something less to stress about." Jason rambles on and on. His posture and facial expression suddenly worried, anxious and. Joyous?
I hold up a hand, silencing him. I must have looked comical because the dude just burst out laughing.
"What the hell.. Bro, what are you rambling about?" I ask in confusion and a little annoyed. Jason keeps smiling like a loon, and then his eyes widen.
"Oh right. We didn’t get to tell you before the girls were taken. Well, we were supposed to tell on that day, but with everything going on and.." I hold up my hand again.
"Stop with the rambling, man! Please tell me the big news already." I say as I cross my arms.
"Well, uhm. Ellie and I are going to be parents too.." Jason says with a big ’tadaa’ hand gesture. I roll my eyes in amusement.
"Oh that. Galaxy taddled about that weeks ago, but please don’t tell Abby I said so." I say with a laugh. Jason’s face falls a little.
"I mean... CONGRATULATIONS PAPPA!" I yell in excitement. Maybe I should have started with that looking back. Well, no backies, I guess. I give him an apologetic smile as we bro hug.
"Sorry, should have started with the congratulation." I say, hanging my head.
"Nah. It’s alright. But how did Galaxy tell you? Jason ponders. We look at each other while the truth dawns on us both.
"Vega!" we say in unison.
"It must have been Vega who told Galaxy." Jason says, as I nod. I give him a sly smile.
"Then it must have been Antares who told her Morgan is pregnant, too." Jason burst out laughing.
"Damn, we are going to have out hand full becoming parents and uncles at the same time. I know Ellie want’s to ask Abby if she wants to be godmother, and I guess Morgan is going to ask her as well." I groan.
"I need to get back to work.. Not just pack work, but proper work if I’m ever going to afford that." I say in defeat. I know Abby is going to spoil those two kiddos rotten.
Jason pads my back in response, but can’t help the big smile to form on his face.
"Well, I know Abby is going to ask Ellie the same thing, so that means one thing and one thing only. She is going to use a lot of money on the twins as well." Jason pales at the revelation and then curses like a sailor. I can’t help but chuckle.
With that out of the way, we move around the new pack house. It is gorgeous, spacious and everything the girls wanted. We made sure it can hold our entire family, extension and all. We have room for all of us.
On the sixth floor is me, Abby, the twins, and my parents. We each have a side of the floor. In the middle are our offices and a family room. Fifth floor is Jason, Ellie, their child and his parents. Also, with offices and a family room in the middle.
The fourth and third floor is for the betas and gammas respectively, and for their family. It also holds offices in the middle, so it is easily accessible. Second floor was where we put conference room, spa area and games room, making it a fun floor, as Abby and Laurel put it.
On every floor, except for the fifth and sixth, there were single or double rooms for pack members. High-ranking omegas, etc. First floor was reserved to be the nanny’s floor. There they would have living quarters, nursery’s, playing area and so on. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Ground floor was diningroom next to the kitchen, livingroom, pantry, etc.
