’Allison are you alright?’ I mind link her, trying to reach her, but our bond is not very strong and I can’t feel her. I panic. What if she died? What if she fought for someone and gave her life thinking that was what we wanted from her? We haven’t exactly been forthcoming. We have been clipped, cold and distant.
A lightning penetrates the clear sky, slamming down into the ground on the far side of the pack house. Dark grey, almost black, clouds gather quickly, thunder rolls. The night is coming, but this has nothing to do with that. I reach again for my mate, but the mate bond is just fragile and small in my mind.
’We need to rectify it, Ethan. Make it better. You need to name her in the right room. Claim her!’ Blake demands, and this time I reluctantly agree with him.
’There will be consequences.’ I warn and he snorts, as another lightning, dark purple this time, slams the ground from the sky.
’Do you really want to be the leader of a pack that is as ignorant as ours? Or do you think they are merely afraid of father still because neither of you have stood up to him.’ That is the most my wolf has ever spoken. I’m speechless. Speechless, terrified for Allison, and angry that he is absolutely right about father and the pack. For fuck sake. Great, now even I’m cursing.
We round the pack house at the same time as my brothers, all of their wolves exuding the same panic as Blake. Loki keeps running, while Damon slows down and Blake completely stops for a second. The scene in front of us taking our breath away, and making dread run down our spine.
Ruby and a male are righting two females. Ruby’s tails are glowing, and she is hovering in the air. Her paws glow as one of the females scream in agony. The male called forth another lightning. Running feet behind me has Blake looking over his shoulder. Daniel. He is staring at the scene in front of us, his hand over his mouth, his eyes wide with fascination and fear.
"No! Mateo... How?" He says, his hands trembling. I recognize the response and look at the male by Ruby’s side with another light. He is hovering about the ground right next to Ruby, his eye glowing dark grey, his white hair tossing too and fro in the wind he is creating.
"You are not coming into this pack, Adalia." He says, conversing as if they were at a picnic. "Neither are you Cordelia."
"That pack is free for anyone to take it, Mateo. Move." One of the women says, sneering at him. He shakes his head.
"Can’t. Princess Allison of the Foxes says you are denied access to the Silver Moon pack by her word. Now leave before this gets more ugly than it has to be."
"She is no.." Ruby growls, and a fifth tail grows out right in front of our eyes. She snaps her jaws at the women, silently threatening them. Then the new tail glows bright orange and the women disappear in a swirl of scream, curses and promises of death.
Ruby and the guy land safely on the ground, Blake, Damon and Loki moving as one to Ruby’s side. They sniff her, making sure she is okay. Daniel is with us, taking the guy into his arms and looking him over as our wolves were doing with Ruby.
"Hi darling. You didn’t really think I was going to stay away when I promised to come, did you?" The guy, Mateo, asks. He smiles dazzlingly at Daniel, making our Beta blush. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"I.. You could understand Ruby’s mindvoice?" Daniel asks, ignoring his question. That was a thing I wondered about as well.
"Of course. I have always been able to understand the mindvoice of all creatures." Mateo answers, bowing his head to us. "And yes, Alpha’s, I am the mate of your Beta. And no, I do not even in the least want to reject him. Neither should he reject me. Neither should you be ashamed of your mate. You have been acting foolish."
"Mateo!" Daniel scolds.
"They have! And I will not be a Beta partner who is silenced just because those three are afraid of their daddy. He needs a kick to his balls and a smack to his head. More than one, I think." Daniel is hiding his head now, while Ruby is snickering.

"No, the situation in your pack is hopeless until the day you actually start acting like a damn Alpha in power, Alpha Ethan. It’s that simple, and with Adalia and Cordelia out and about, knowing about the Princess, I will advise you to get your big boy panties on soon."
’I like him.’ Allison’s quiet, amused, voice sounds in my mind. She would. Mateo grins at her.
"Likewise, chick. And it’s an honor to be in the presence of the Princess." He bows to her. Someone howls from the other side of the pack house and we are reminded of the right yet to be won.
’We’ll discuss this later.’ I tell them. Blake looks at everyone, gestures with his head that we need to go back, and Daniel decides to join us and shifts on the spot ripping his clothes. He kneels down to his mate so he can climb on.
