The fucking audacity of the Luna still doesn’t sit well with me a couple of hours later, but there is not much I can do other than what I did when we were outside. She has been screaming about the unfairness of it all, but luckily it seems that everyone knows who she is and how she is. I already dread the BBQ later as I’ll have to actually socialize with her again. Maze comforts me as best as he can. He knows I don’t like to be a bitch to people, but he also knows neither Winter nor I are pushovers, especially when it comes to our mate.
As we are conversing with some of the Alpha and Luna’s in the living room someone walks in and bows to us.
"My King, my Queen. If I may have a word with you both?" He asks politely, and we excuse ourselves to the others. If my memory serves me right his name is Alpha Hunter, and he is ruling without a Luna after he lost her in a rogue attack a couple of years back. He never took a chosen mate after her, and never met a second chance either.
"What can we do for you, Alpha Hunter?" Maze asks, and I do a small victory dance in my head. I actually remembered correctly, and that is not an easy feat with all the new people.
"Well, I am going to be completely honest with you; I met my second chance mate, but I am inclined to reject her." My mouth opens in surprise and sadness. Why would he want to reject her? Then I think about it and the expression in his face tells me everything I need to know.
"No?!" I say, my hand in front of my mouth. Alpha Hunter hangs his head.

"But... Why in the seven hells would you be mated to her?" I ask, looking at him hoping he’ll tell me he is joking in a second. Maze looks between us with a confused look on his face.
"What’s wrong?" He asks, and I mindlink who I think is Alpha Hunter’s mate. Maze makes a disgusted face.
"No way Selene would give her you as her second chance." He says. "You are an actual good person, and she is... Not." I snicker at his apt description of her.
"I’m afraid there is no mistake.. What am I going to do? The Moon Goddess would never give me a third chance if I reject her." He says, his eyes showing so much pain. I just shake my head and pop myself down into a dining chair. Maze and Alpha Hunter follow suit.
"Well, we could ask her ourselves?!" I say, looking at Maze for his input. He smirks.
"That would for sure be interesting. Maybe we could start with speaking to Kendra?" He says, and I groan. I so hoped he wouldn’t suggest that.
"Do we really have to?" I ask, and he laughs while his eyes cloud over. A couple of minutes later Kristian walks in with a fuming Kendra. She stops dead in her tracks and glares at me.
"What the fuck is the meaning of dragging me in here?" She asks with venom dripping from her voice. I roll my eyes. She still hasn’t learned any manners it seems, but Maze mindlinks me to play nice for now. I can’t promise anything, which I tell him and he only smirks.
"We need to speak to you, Kendra, please sit down." She crosses her arms and shakes her head.
"I don’t want to speak to you." She says defiantly. Her eyes drift to Maze, drinking him in and a sultry smile appears on her face. "The handsome King on the other hand. Are you serious about being with a fat creature like her, when you can have someone like me?" She asks, licking her lips. Alpha Hunter’s face falls.
’She is impure, and needs to be punished. I have plans for the Alpha, don’t worry.’ Selene’s voice says in my head and I snicker. Oh this is going to be so much fun.
"Oh, so you want my mate, Kendra? You think you are better than me?" She rolls her eyes.
"Of course I am better than you. You’re nothing but an abomination." She says, raising an eyebrow. "What? You wanna fight me, little Queen? I’ll kill you within the first second." I laughed, a real laughter. The sound makes her take a step back.
"And while you are hitting on the King, did you even notice your mate sitting right there?" I ask, gauging her reaction. She looks at Alpha Hunter and snorts.
"Please! I can have anyone and everyone I want, and I always get my way." She replies with a wave of her hand.
"How many mated males have you forced to bed you because you can’t get off unless it’s against their will?" She growls.
"HOW DARE YOU?!" She screams and I smirk. Gotcha.
"That many, huh?" Red spots of anger cover her cheeks, and I continue. "Alpha Hunter, you are free to reject this Omega." Kendra glares at me. "Rogue Omega. And I, Queen Kiara of werewolves and foxes, herby merge the Blue Mist pack with Crescent Moon. "You are now the Alpha of all." Maze squeezed my hand.
"I agree with my Queen. Miss Kendra, you are a disgusting disgrace to our race. You have 20 minutes to get your things and get out of our pack lands. Feel free to join the enemy, but get in line to want to kill us. We already have a number aiming for exactly that." Maze says nochantlanthly. Kendra screams and stomps outside. I follow her with the others hot on my heel.
"Kendra?" Alpha Hunter calls after her, and she turns around. "I, Alpha Hunter of the Blue Crescent Moon pack, reject you, Kendra Smith as my mate and Luna." He says and that is the last straw it seems. She perhaps tried to run away before he was able to reject her, so she still had a tie to him, but when the mate bond breaks for her, she loses all sense and control over her wolf. She shifts. Luckily I anticipated this move, and Winter shifts a split second later.
Kendra jumps us with her teeth bared, but Winter is faster and more agile. She dodged the attack. Out of the corner of our eye I mentally notice Maze shaking his head at Alpha Hunter, keeping his hand on the other man. He probably wanted to shift and protect me. People are filing out of the door to see what is happening and Maze orders them leave us be. I need to do this myself.
My focus zones back in on the outraged she-wolf in front of me. Her eyes are feral and I know her wolf has completely taken control now. There is no way back. I either kill her or get killed by her, and I have no intention of dying today.
Kendra’s wolf jumps forward again in a skin attack, and Winter just slides to the side only to duck and grab the wolf when she tries the real maneuver. We shake her like we would with a prey. The wolf howls in pain, but I have no sympathy for her anymore. She had her warning and she chose to not heed it. Now she will reap the consequences.
Winter lets go after she has swung the wolf away from her. She has a giant gash in her right hind leg, which must hurt like hell. She gets to her feet without putting a lot of pressure on the injured leg. Winter swiftly moves in, grabs her by the neck and bites down suffocating her enemy in her own blood. The wolf whines in pain, gurgling in her death cramps. Look at that even her skill of combat was overrated. Maze walks over to us, scratching Winter behind the ear and smiling at her with pride. Kendra shifts back to her human self as Jon and Jasper remove her body to burn her. She doesn’t deserve a proper burial.
The other Alpha’s and Luna’s approach with caution at first, looking at Winter with expressions varying from curiosity to hostility. It only lasts until Winter plops down and rolls around so Maze can do a belly rub. Laughter spreads through the crowd and people start asking curious questions about her. Why does she have so many tails, her coloring, her size etc.
"That is one fine Luna you got there, and we are lucky to have her as our Queen. Did y’all see how well she fought? And she didn’t use her abilities. She defeated her enemy with power, agility and smartness." Alpha Daemon says with pride in his dark eyes. He nods to Winter, and I shift back. freewebnovel.cσ๓

"Alright, who is ready for some food? I know I am." Someone from the crowd says, earning laughter and everyone follows us around the pack house to get the BBQ going.
