"What the hell do you mean she is your spy?! She works for Magoth." I say, looking at Lillith with utter suspicion. "You have been spying on our pack down by the stream, yes or no?" Her mouth opens, but then she just grins.
"Damn, I didn’t think anyone had noticed me. Yes, I have kept an eye on you from the stream. And yes, I have given information to Magoth, but only things he would have found out anyway. And mostly things to piss off your ex mate as much as possible. She is batshit crazy that one." Lillith says, leaning forward. "I have kept an eye on you so no one else would have to do it, and I have had an eye on the others who were assigned to do the same as me. We work in shifts." She says, looking at Willow and Jax, they both nod and she sighs.
"You all owe us some answers." I tell them, as Kiara takes my hand and quietly shakes her head.
"Lillith, how long have you been spying?" Kiara asks, and the woman focuses on her.
"Since the beginning, Queen Kiara. I was planted by my King and Queen when we first got word about this high ranking demon lord with ambitions. They sent me to be his confidant, and it rolled from there. When he sought permission and blessing for his endeavors King Jax and Queen Willow had been ruling for some time, but he had not noticed because of his own selfish priorities. He thought he was meeting King Jax’s father, who was killed in the great war. He was not happy when he came back. He took me and the others who he thought were loyal to him and got out of the underworld. He thought no one could reach him there."
"So, you’re saying you’re loyal to my aunt and uncle?" I ask, raising an eyebrow. She nods, meeting my eyes straight on.
"I would never betray either of them." She says calmly but sternly.
"And why is that?" I ask, and this time it’s my aunt who answers.
"Other than that I can read her every thought of course, right? Let me show you, Maze." She says, placing a crystal phial on the table. "I’ll need a drop of blood from all of you." She says, telling me to ask my mom if I am unsure. I do and mom mindlinks back that it’s safe and they have used it before. I let her poke my finger and let a drop of blood fall. She goes around the room and does this to everyone.
"Alright, everyone hold hands now." She instructs, and we do as she says. She chants something in a language I do know and I feel a woosh, like the ground was pulled from underneath me.
"Are you sure about this, Lilith?" Aunt Willow asks, and Lillith nods. She looks at Jax.
"It’s the least I can do. He.. I have to do something." Uncle Jax puts his hand on her shoulders.
"You can get out whenever you want to, and you cannot be forced to do anything against your will. We have made sure that your mind is shielded, but you still have to be careful." Lilith swallows and nods. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"I know, but I need to feel useful, Jax. Jasper would have wanted me to make use of my gifts." They both nod, and I feel like I have more questions than answers at this point. Someone moves out of the shadows.
"Jasper would have been so proud and angry with you for volunteering, sis." The girl says, and I look closer at her. She seems familiar, but then again not.

"I know you did, and that is what counts. We all tried. My father will burn in the worst hell for what he did, but we all know how much our brother loved you, and you are family to us. You saved all of us that day. And now you are saving us again." She hugs Lillith close.
The scene changes. Lilith is in a dark room, Magoth is on the bed.
"What is the matter, Lilith my dear?" He asks in a taunting voice. "Did I not satisfy you enough?" She gives him a small smile.
"I was amazing, Master, but I fear about this strange girl you have taken in. Why her?" Magoth laughs.
"Fearing for my safety, little one? How sweet and incredibly unnecessary." He gets out of bed, naked and I want to gauge my eyes out. "She will serve her purpose one day. I have plans for her. Long term plans." He runs a finger down her cheek, making her shiver. "Now, how about you go back to bed, and I will see you tomorrow. I have a special task for you, little one."
