Chapter 261: Chapter 261 Guest For Willow And Jax
Kiara
It’s been a week since Maze and I were crowned by Selene and Inari, and it really has changed some things, while others are as they always were. One of the first things I noticed was how everyone bowed whenever one of us came into their presence. It irked me more than I let on, and I asked Maze in privacy if we could do something about that, and he luckily agreed with me. So we started to tell people to stop bowing, and that was easier than to get them to stop calling us your Grace, my Queen or my King. We agreed silently to let them do whatever they needed in that regard.
Then we had a pack meeting where the entire pack was invited, and we told them that we might get new pack members, and we are not only going to have wolves in our pack in the future.
"I’m a fox shifter, and therefore we will maybe get more foxes who will join us. We need everyone to be open and welcoming. Our pack is an example for everyone else to follow, and we need to be on our best behavior." I told them, but it did not fall well with the elderly members, not until Morgan and Brandon stepped up front and faced all of them. Maze had told me they were back, but they had kept to themselves and his parents for the most part. Something about having to process what the discovered about their daughter.
"We need to be a united pack. We cannot keep going against our leaders. Maze and Kiara are doing one hell of a job here, and they are working so hard for all of us. We all know a war is coming. Worse than the one we already fought. We need to stand with them, work with them and respect them. If our Queen says we need to welcome the foxes into our pack, our heart and our lives, then I for one will be the first smiling face they meet." Morgan said, linking hands with her husband.
"My wife is right. Our King and Queen have been nothing but hard working ever since they met. It has not been easy for them. I have been a personal factor in that hardship, which I want to formally apologize for." He bowed his head in respect to me. "My Queen, I am sorry for the way I have treated you. I thought Maze, King Maze, was making a mistake and throwing away his chances with my daughter for someone who wasn’t worthy of him, but I was sorely mistaken. Mira Rose is a lost cause, and I regret ever thinking such thoughts of you. You are everything and more our pack and our King needs. I am honored to serve you, and I will as Morgan stated be by her side and welcome anyone into our pack that you deem worthy to be here." I had to blink several times after his speech. It hit home so much. It had hurt more than I was willing to admit that Brandon didn’t approve of me for Maze. But to hear him say he was wrong made me emotional in seconds.
After that things fell into place. People slowly committed to letting us lead. Some were still skeptical, but I didn’t want to force them to accept the changes either. They have to see for themselves that we mean well, and want what is best for everyone.
Brandon and Morgan began to come more to the packhouse, and slowly but surely it felt like things fell into place. I talked to Maze and the other ranked members about the fact that we were not going to be able to hide the fact that we were already crowned. Not with the way the pack had acted right after.
"Every subject of a Royal, no matter the species, will know them by their aura. They are recognizable so mistakes cannot happen." Abby told us, and we nodded. With that came the realization that Magoth, Mira and their crew also must know or at least get to know within the foreseeable future.
Today I have been working in my office with James to get the last of our White Mountain people situated. Willow, Jax, Amber and her family have been living here since the coronation. They all say they are not going back until this is over now. We’re so close to the final battle. We can all feel it in our hearts. Amber’s mates take turns to be in the Dragon Kingdom, but luckily for them they have such a good support system, so they can be here most of the time. Amber has adamantly refused to go anywhere. She, her mates and her kids are residing in a bigger townhome just besides the packhouse, as they are quite the few people, while Willow and Jax are in their own room on the Alpha floor. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Maze took all of the guys, minus Jax, who is not leaving his mates side, with him to the firm today. Amber and Willow planned to do something together, while Jax tagged along, and I just heard them come back a few minutes ago. I asked Maze what that was about and he told me Jax is not leaving Willow more than a few minutes at a time or if he is completely sure she is safe, because he almost lost her a couple of times, and then she discovered he was her mate before time and that he already knew, which lead her to almost rejecting him. But he also knows if she faces Narine, she will fight her until one of them is dead and he is not letting her fight that war alone. He hates Narine almost as much as Willow and Abby, but also just almost. Those two really have a grudge against the woman.
’My Queen, we have someone seeking access to the backgrounds.’ A warrior mindlinks me, and I am pushed out of my train of thoughts. James looks at me, but I hold up a finger.
’Male or female?’
’Female, my Queen. She says her name is Lillith and she has to speak with King Jax and Queen Willow about a woman named Narine. She has information. She’s a demon, but I cannot get a read on her otherwise.’
’I’m on my way. Get more warriors into the premises, and as a female warrior to search her.’
’Yes, my Queen.’ I close the link.
"James, find Abby and Matthew. They should be in the clearing out back, but they put up a block because they wanted mate time. I don’t care what they are doing, I need them." He nods and leaves my office.
’Babe?’
’Kiara? Is everything alright?’
’I’m not sure. You guys probably need to come home. A female demon is seeking access to the grounds. She wants to speak to Willow and Jax about Narine.’
’Be careful, use the special conference room and take Willow and Jax with you out. We’re on our way, baby.’ I close that link as well, already knocking on their door. Amber opens with a laugh that soon disappears when she sees my face.
"What’s up, Kiara?" She asks, and I explain what’s happening. All three of them follow me out of the packhouse. Callie, Elena and Frida join us silently outside. I nod to them, as we make our way to where the warrior is stationed.
When we reach the border a beautiful woman with long dark red hair, warm brown eyes and dark skin is waiting for us. She is sitting cross legged on the ground, her eyes closed. She is radiating beauty and she knows it. I instantly want to dislike her, but something in her aura makes me second guess my feelings. Her eyes snap open when we halt on the inside of the border. She quickly stands and courtesy to all of us.
"My King, My Queens." She says with a low melodic voice. Willow squeals, while Jax visibly relaxes.
"Lillith! What the hell are you doing here?" Willow asks, gesturing for me to let her cross. I nod to the guards without saying a word. They let her move, and when she’s over the border she’s snatched up in a giant hug. "You could be killed, what the fuck?" Willow says again, holding the woman in arms length now. Jax clasps a hand on her shoulder.
"Were you made?" He asks and she shakes her head. I raise an eyebrow, sharing a look with Amber. I am utterly confused now.
"How about we move this party to the packhouse, guys. Maze just crossed the pack border with the others. I think we all want to know what is going on." Willow leads the woman on the way talking quietly with her, and I mindlink Maze with this surprising twist of events.
Back in the packhouse we gather in the special conference room, which has magical enforcements and other useful stuff.
"So what in the seven hells is going on?" Maze asks, looking between his aunt, uncle and their guest.
"Maze, Kiara, this is Lillith. She is our spy amongst Magoth and his crowd of misfits." Willow says with a no nonsense tone. Well I’ll be fucking dammed.
