"You didn’t think we could find our way?" I ask with a laugh when I get out of the car after parking where Maze points. They shake their heads and go to their respective mates. I tell them to keep it down a notch as not all of our mates are here and they actually listen for a change.
They grab the food out of the trunk, all of them moaning in appreciation of the smell of cheese and bread. Maze leads us inside to an elevator. We can’t all fit, so he has me and Ryan with him. We enter the level where we are getting off, and there are different people standing in the hallway. All of them look at us, bow to Maze and eyes me and Ryan. Some of the females almost growls with jealousy when Maze possessively takes my hand and leads me to the end of the hallway.
"This is the level under where I have my office, but we have our conference rooms here, and it’s a better fit when we have this many." I nod with a smile, looking around. The floor has cubicles with people working, and three small closed offices at the other end. Down where we are there are four conference rooms, and the one we are in has an oval table fitting 20 people easily, and equipment for video conferences or presentations as well.
A couple of minutes later the rest of the gang walks in with an unfamiliar sour looking woman. When she sees Maze her eyes ease up a bit, and her smile is suggestive and sultry. She completely ignores me and the other girls.
"You ask me to come, Mr. Blue?" She says with a lick on the lips. I raise an eyebrow at her. Seriously?! She doesn’t even try to hide the arousal oozing from her. Maze puts his hand on the small of my back, taking my hand with his free one. He can probably feel my irritation with this slut.
"Yes, Kristina, I want you to make sure my wife and sister-in-laws have all access passes made for them today." Her eyes slid down to his hands on me, to mine on top of his and finally landed on my face. Her expression turns darker and darker the more she looks at us. I make a little movement with my fingers, raising an eyebrow to challenge her to say anything.
"They will need to come down and get a finger and retina scan." She declares with the most shitty attitude ever. I roll my eyes, kiss Maze good and do a gesture for her to lead the way.
"Want me to come with you, baby?" Maze asks. Awe! I shake my head and waves at the girls to come with me as well.
"No, eat, babe! You must be hungry. We’ll be right back!" I told him. He does a love tap on mu butt, which practically has smoke coming out of Kristina’s ears.
’Can I fire her?’ I ask in a mind-link, earning a chuckle on my way out.
’As long as you make sure to hire someone else instead I don’t really care. She hits on all of us, and I am tired of her. But she’s effective.’ I mind-link this information to the other girls, who clearly didn’t like her either.
The elevator ride down to the main hall is awkward and quiet. I make small talk with Callie and Elena, Kristina completely ignoring us. She walks out ahead of us and around the reception table.
"Wow, rude much?!" Elena mutters under her breath, and I snort in agreement.
"Right hand. Thumb. Left hand. Thumb. Look in here. The other eye. If you lose this card you will have to pay for a new one and have this process made again. If you misuse it, you will have the right of a new card taken away and arrested." I’ve about had it with this bitch when she does the same rude routine with Callie and Elena.
"Listen Kristina, I do not care that you clearly don’t like." She snorts. "But hit on my husband in front of me again and I will have your ass thrown from this property and make sure you will never have work here or anywhere in this city again." I lean forward, snatching the cards, making sure she knows I’m serious. She’s a wolf, so she knows who I am to Maze, and I’m really fucking pissed off. The fucking audacity.
We’re walking back to the elevator when she retorts.
"Like he would ever allow our kind to be ruled by someone like you. You are not even a wolf, just some shitty wannabe shifter." Winter takes over in a second, grabbing the cunt by her throat. She tosses her through the entrance hall, stalking to her with our aura on full blast. No one disrespects us ever again! Kristina is on the floor, her eyes wide and tears in her eyes. I can feel our eyes are glowing, and Winter is two seconds from killing the woman in front of us, just to set an example.
"We might not be a wolf, but we are your Queen and you will show us respect! YOU ARE FIRED!" Winter and I roar together, shaking the entire complex. People around us are looking on in awe and fear. "No one hits on our mate and gets away with it! Be happy we didn’t kill your sorry ass for your disrespect!" We continue, and she is shaking when security comes along and drags her off. Someone spins me around, and presses our head to their hard chest. The sparks tell me who it is, but I don’t know how he came here so fast. I inhale his scent, calming me and my agitated fox.
"I fucking love you woman!" He says, and I look into his eyes. He is looking at me with pride and amusement. Everyone else in the entrance hall is bowing to us, and I am hyper aware of their presence now. Maze kisses my forehead and leads me back towards the elevator. Not until we move again does people stop bowing.
