This is a feeble attempt to take Maze and me apart, and I will not stand for it! I look between them before speaking, trying to rein in my wolf, who is outraged by the sheer audacity of the two on the other side of the table.
The silence stretches on for another minute while I try and bite my tongue, but then I decide to just lay it on them. They started this themselves, and Maze already silently approved of me ripping them a new one.
Aunt Abby and Uncle Matt look on in slight amusement, but their eyes express worry and sadness as well. I think I know where the two last emotions come from. They are disappointed in Mira, and they know we must inform her parents of her whereabouts. They will insist that she stays here, and seeing as Maze never banned her from coming back, to my knowledge at least, then she has a right to be with her family. That is probably where the worry comes from.
Maybe they forgot what Maze told us in Luna’s office, but we (I) know what Mira is, and I will never let her get near my mate ever again! I do not care what status she had in the pack when they were growing up. She lost everything when she temporarily died and then never came back! She lost her wolf and she is human. I see through her. She wants Maze because of the position he can provide her. Well fuck that and fuck her!
"Mason, you stopped being my mate when you rejected me in front of the pack, making a fool out of me and laughing in my face, while standing there with your slutty girlfriend. Also, did you forget I denounced my claim to the Alpha position? I cannot be Luna of the pack, and you will never be Alpha." I ask, crossing my arms. Maze wraps his around me, and kisses my shoulder. The warmth from his actions makes Winter purr in my mind.
"It was a terrible mistake. I rescind my rejecting Kiara, and your father says he’ll accept us as the new Alpha couple. You need to come home. It’s not the same without your warm presence sweetheart." I roll my eyes at his attempt to sweet talk me. Had it been before Maze, then I would perhaps have forgiven him, but now? No way in hell I am coming with him back. That pack is beyond saving, and the members are even bigger idiots than Mason if they think I would come back to their bullying.

"You are not, and will never be, the Queen. You are not his mate. Your mate bond vanished when you died, and it didn’t come back from the dead - even though you did. I am his second chance and we have accepted each other." I turn my gaze from the seething girl to my ex mate.
"And now you are both excused. Mason I don’t want to ever see you here again. You are not welcomed. I don’t know what you are playing at, but my father will never accept you as Alpha of his pack. My brother will be the next Alpha when he is of age." Mason growls, but my word is final. I am not crowned yet, but Maze has already announced me as his mate, Luna, and Queen, so what I say goes.
Mason forgets I know more about our laws than he ever will. I had to know them, so I had the laws on my side every time I reported abuse from the pack. "And Mira, although nothing would bring me more pleasure than to throw your sorry excuse of a human ass out from our pack, I can’t. You are still a member, however unfortunate, and you have a right to see your parents. But do not be fooled. One step out of line and I will be banishing you before you can "parlay". I do not care who you think you are. You are nothing anymore. You threw away your status when you betrayed your pack and your mate."
"I never betrayed anyone." She says with a whine and I raise an eyebrow. Aunt Abby mind-links us that she has told Mira’s parents she’s here and they are outside wanting to come in. I smirk, standing from Maze’s lap and walking to open the door.
"Mason, you are free to leave. You will be escorted by our Beta’s, so we are sure you won’t come back." Maze’s eyes cloud over and a second later Leon and Kristian appear to do just that. I wave to the people standing outside, gesturing for them to enter the room.
The woman takes one look at Mira and breaks down in tears. She rushes to the girl, who awkwardly lets her mom embrace her. I go back to Maze, intending to stand behind him, but when I’m in reaching distance he grabs my hand and pulls me back into his lap. He hugs me close, and I can feel the conflicted emotions oozing from him.
"You are alive! Where have you been?" Mira’s mom asks, her eyes overswimming with tears of joy. Mira rolls her eyes at the display of emotions, but she hugs her mom back. I silently observe her interaction with her parents, who keep asking her where she has been? They also thank me and Maze for bringing their little girl back, to which Maze says we have nothing to do with her sudden appearance.
"Alpha, Luna, may she stay? You are not throwing her out, are you? We... We’ll leave with her if we have to." I sigh.
