Chapter 121: Chapter 121 The Dragon Lands

Blaze’s POV

Selene dumped us in the outskirts of the dragon lands, not bothering to say anything other than "now hurry on boys", before disappearing with a nervous glance at me. I rolled my eyes. I hate the divine with an even bigger passion than I hate that good-for-nothing weak ass crown prince. He’s the whole reason why I was cast out of my home and land, just because he had a grudge against my mother, who refused to marry his father. At least that’s what I was told as royal guards were throwing me, and whatever little belongings I managed to pack, out of my home and into a cruel and cold world beyond the barrier of the great dragon magic.

Flashback

There’s a knock on the door to my small room in the castle. I’ve been living here for as long as I can remember, being taken in out of pity by the late queen, when I was just a hatchling. My parents abandoned me as an infant, and I have never known why. I planned on going out into the world to find the truth when I came of age, but as if I wasn’t a freak enough, my beast came to me at the age of fifteen, instead of eighteen. I know the prince has his beast as well, but it’s being kept a secret - or as much as you can with taddle effective servers everywhere.

"Yes?" I question, as I open the door a smidge. Outside is the dragon wise, his eyes sad and looking nervous around.

"Young one, you need to pack immediately. I fear something dark is coming, and you will be the target." He says before going down the corridor in haste. I lift an eyebrow, but do as he says after closing and locking the door.

’Why would something happen to us? We are nobody. A pity case of the late queen.’ I ask Loch, while filling my backpack with clothes, my water bottle, some snacks and what little food I have in my room. Then some possessions I have from my birth parents, like a ring and a pedant - which I am determined to give to my mate when I meet her.

After a little while there hard knocks on the door again, and I take a deep breath, but before I can open the door myself a guard barges through it.

"Maze Waterborn, you are hereby sentenced to be cast out, due to treason towards the crown and seeking the life of his highness the crown prince. You are lucky you are only being banished tonight." The head of the royal guardsmen says in a threatening voice. He snaps his fingers and two of his men grab my arms. I decided to keep quiet and go along. I already packed. I owed the dragon wise a thank you, but I also needed to find out what happened.

"His majesty is casting me out?" I ask quietly, only wanting to know who my new enemy is. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"No! His highness crown prince Chase, is casting your sorry ass out!" The head man answers with disgust. I shake my head. And here I thought of him to be a decent guy. How he had fooled me.

Outside a dragon is waiting on us, and as we walk near it takes off to hover just above the ground. Then it grabs my shoulders harshly, and I would have screamed if I didn’t know it would satisfy them. But I knew, so I didn’t.

The dragon takes off to the borders, and the other shifts to follow. As I am thrown to the ground, at the border, the others land and start to shift. Instead of waiting I turn on my heel and go through the barrier before they can get the satisfaction of throwing me through that as well. I keep walking even when they start to cuss and yell at me. Not looking back, but keeping my head high and swearing to myself I would get revenge one day.

"So, half breed, where exactly are we?" Ezra, the always interrupting teddy, asks as he looks around the, to him, unfamiliar territory.

"We are in the dragon lands, but on the outskirts, near the mountain to the far west." I answer, just as the feeling of being watched washes over me. Ezra feels it too, because he swirls around, like a childrens toy, all of a sudden.

"Whoa there, Ezzy Boo, where’s the fire? I can put it out in a blink of an eye, ya know?" I ask, while smirking at the seething guardian.

"I thought... But that can’t be? Nevermind. Where are we going?" He says all cryptic and shit. Loch sneers at the delay in my mind, wanting to go to our mate and get her out of here.

I shake my head at my very confused looking companion and start walking. I know where we are, and we are not more than a couple of hours of brisk walk from the castle. We just need to lay low until then, rescue Amber and get the fuck out of here. I can’t take her back to that demented pack of hers either, not with her mother wanting to bind me there to never be with my destined princess. Ugh. Just the thought of what would have happened if princess Willow hadn’t showed up in time.

’But she did, so stop the whining and start walking faster!’ Loch growls. He’s impatient, as he can feel her near. I can too, and I start to wonder. Why would I feel the bond so strong, so far from the castle, unless she’s not in the castle?

Following the bond, and ignoring the complaints of my ever so annoying companion, I walk faster. Why would my mate be out here in the woods? Is she alone? Kidnapped maybe? Hurt or worse? My thoughts go from one awful scenario to the next, everything worse than the other. And then. My head snapped up, as the sweet scent of my woman overwhelmed me, and my eyes locked on hers. She’s standing between the trees, her mouth agape and her eyes widened in shock.

Loch takes over in my momentary stupor, and moves us to her. She smiles, and I feel everything melt inside of me. She’s smiling, and she is smiling at me. I grab her under her thighs and lift her into my arms, before inhaling her scent once again. She laughs, and I’m done for! I could die now and do it with a smile on my face.
