The Third Person’s POV
As everything progress in the conference room, Matthew can’t help the burst of pride swelling in him. Both he and Blade are so proud of how their Luna handles herself.
She is a natural leader, and doesn’t take any of the men’s shit. He would have intervened, but didn’t feel it was necessary. She got this, and when she created the barrier between a clearly distressed Laurel and her father, he was chuckling inside.
This was his badass mate, and she was handling everything like a queen. Little did Matthew know just how accurate that description of Abby indeed was. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Alpha Matthew, do you not have anything to say about the way your mate is behaving?" Leo asks and forces Matt back from his daydreams of his mate.
"No." was the simple answer. "
She is correct and has my full support. Everything said and done here is done a little unorthodox, but that does not mean wrong. Quiet the opposite." He continues with a bright smile.
Leo’s face is turning bead red in frustration. This was not meant to happen. He was used to getting his way, and now that irksome little Luna had to meddle in things she didn’t need to. He had to think of a way to get rid of her and her Alpha. Maybe he could expand his own lands and take over Silver Mist. This needed some thinking over.
"Ahem. So if we can get back on track. It has been a long day, and time is flying by. It’s getting pretty late, and we need to discuss what is going to happen to Maria." Abby interrupts, and Matthew smiles down at her, taking in her beauty, elegance and grace. She is a sight to behold, being in full Luna mode, and this was only her first day. She would help lead them to prosperity and make their pack better. He just knew it.
Abby can’t help but feel proud of herself. Just this morning, she only had Galaxy. But now she has a mate that wants her, a pack who seems to accept her and a position where she can make a difference in the realm. Yes, everything was turning out to be good and bright for Abby. She was home!
"Yes. Seeing as Maria..." Leo starts.
"I am sorry, Leo, but seeing as you are the former Alpha of your pack, I don’t want your opinion on this. I would much rather hear from Alpha Jason. But I suggest we stop for the night and come back tomorrow to make a final decision on this matter. It is late, as my mate said, and we are all tired." Matthew stats calmly and looked at Jason.
He nods.
"I will come back in the morning, and we can discuss what happens to my sister. I think it is best if I just come by myself. He is right dad, you need to step away now! You are not the Alpha of our pack anymore, and this is a pack matter. She lied to all of us, and we have a lot to make up for." He looks at his sister on the other side of the table.
"I hope you can one day forgive me, Laurel. I am so sorry for everything, and will forever, from now on, be the big brother you deserve. Beta Kaiden, please take good care of my sister. She is special to me." He gives them a small smile, and Laurel sobs into Kaiden’s chest.
She stands from Kaiden’s embrace, much to his chagrin, and goes around the table into the arms of her brother.
"I have always wanted us to be close. Like when we were little, but Maria always got her way. She kept telling me I was a mistake, and she was the princess of the family." Laurel confesses in her brother’s arms. Kaiden’s heart bleeds for his sweet and beautiful mate.
She has always craved a family that wanted her, and they never gave her that. He would give her the world if she asked. She was the most precious thing to him, and she was his! And his alone.
"I will say this onetime, Alpha Jason. Your beta got to be staying away from my mate. She is MINE, and I will tolerate no one touching her."
Jason understood where he was coming from.
"I promise that my beta will not go near my sister ever again." He shoots his seething beta a look. When Carls feels the burning eyes of his Alpha, it forces him to comply and lowers his head in submission.
Laurel visibly relaxes in her brother’s arms, and Jason’s heart breaks for her. He should have protected her, but he believed all the crap his father had filled him with. Not anymore!
Luna Abigail had opened his eyes tonight, and for that he was forever grateful.
"Alpha Matthew..."
"It is just Matt or Matthew." Matt replies, and Jason smile.
"Matt, I will come back around 9 am, and we can discuss further. I hope your Luna will join us. This all happened because my sister tried to take something that wasn’t hers by force. And we will, of course, not go to war over something like this."
Matthew smiles at Jason, who stands up. Laurel walks into Kaiden’s outstretched arms, and watches her parents, brother, and that awful beta leave. Feeling more free than she ever thought was possible.
"Well, this has been interesting. Mind if we go to bed? We can get your things in the morning, my love." Kaiden says and looks at Laurel with adoration. Matt nod, and they leave. Brandon, who has been silently observing, gives a smile before leaving as well. It had indeed been a long and eventful day and night.
