Chapter 115: Chapter 115 I’m Coming for You
Blaze’s POV
"I’m half demon, half dragon - full water elemental," I tell the room, not looking at anyone in particular. I’m square my shoulders, ready for the verbal and maybe physical attacks anytime now, but the room keeps being eerily silent. I look up and everyone is just staring at me.
"Uhm, guys?" I ask, not able to hide my insecurity. They are still just staring at me.
"Demon and dragon? Is that even legal for the dragon?" One of the guardian twins asks - I have yet to tell them apart but I think it is Ezra asking.
"It’s forbidden, Ez, and that is why they have been on the run for their entire life until me and Jax fell upon the couple hiding out in the outskirts of the underworld a few days ago. The woman told me about losing her son when he was kidnapped at birth, and that she had sensed him just on the other side of the barrier. When we went to investigate, because they don’t have permission, yet, to travel between the upper and lower world, Jax picked up on Blaze’s scent. We were led here, where I’ve been talking to my sisters. Abby told me he is Amber’s second mate." The strange woman, Willow, explains. And hey! I was right about the guardian, points for me then. I look around and everyone has a contemplative look on their faces, and I feel myself get angry for some reason.
"Eh! Hello to the room. I just revealed I am part DEMON? What is wrong with you people?" I ask out loud, my voice raising to a level of desperation.
"Meh! Our mother is part demon, part witch, and part werewolf - blessed by the moon goddess and a skilled assassin." The other guardian twin says with a shrug of his shoulder.
"Yeah, you seem like a cool guy, and besides; our parents would have sensed it if you were evil. Hell, we would have sensed it." The girl, Smilla, says with a smile. This statement earns a growl from the less sour twin - Joshua, who she swats with a hand.
"It’s called a compliment, dumbass, and I am giving such to anyone I like. Got it?" Smilla asks, her arms crossed and her eyes blazing. I like her. Joshua lowers his head. Damn, he’s whipped already.
"This is nice and all, but we really got to get going. Abby and Ellie agree there needs to be taken action toward you, Blaze. Especially Abby wants to find a way to keep you from Amber, because she, in her stubborn mind, believes her daughter is incapable of handling two mates." Willow rolls her eyes. "Besides, I want to take you to your parents." She smiles a radiant smile, her eyes telling me she is truthful. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Meet my parents? Do I even want to?
"You can meet them when you have found, Amber. We will keep them safe. There’s a war coming, and Laurus is scheming in the shadows. We need all of you young people to be on the same side." The guy suddenly speaks up, his expression is dark and threatening and I realize who he is. I almost slap myself for my stupidity and fall to my knees.
"Your Highness, I am so sorry. I didn’t..."
"Please stand up and stop stalling. We. Need. To. GO!" Willow says, grabbing my arm. The prince nods when I lock eyes with him. Alrighty then. These people are officially the weirdest bunch I’ve met in my entire life. Loch is laughing in my mind at my silliness.
"I’ll go with you! I need to get to Amber. Something is wrong and she is worried, but I can’t pinpoint it when we are so far apart. I should have done a better job at protecting her." Ezra the moody says, his voice does not invite discussion, but I don’t like it.
"Eh. I’d rather do this alone. I know where she is, and I can get there easily myself. Sneak in and get her out." I answer dismissively.
"I. Am. Going." Ezra says taking a step towards me. I roll my eyes.
"Suit yourself, but don’t say I didn’t warn you." I turn around, and walk out the office door. I hear Maze promise to look after things here, be careful and find Mira Rose, who the hell she is, as soon as possible.
Outside Willow tells me to take her hand and as I do I feel a rush of wind and then I’m knocked to the ground. Everything goes dark for a split second before returning to normal, and we are in the forest near a cave. I recognize it as the cave I hid in two days ago.
"What the hell?" I yell, stumbling back after getting off the ground. The others seem fine, and I see Ezra smirk in the corner of my eye.
"What the matter, half breed? Not used to teleporting?" He mocks, and I sent him a rude hand gesture.
"ENOUGH!" Willow shouts at us, while conjuring two backpacks.
"Here’s supplies for your journey. I have hidden you for now, but Abby is much stronger than me, so it will not last for long. You CANNOT shift while under the protection. The moment you do she will be able to find you. Please get along, don’t kill each other, and get my niece back." She waves us off, and the journey to the west dragon kingdom begins. With the worst traveling companion in a lifetime.
"Come on, pouty, we need to get going," I yell over my shoulder, my mood lightning with every step.
"I’m not pouting!" Ezra the moron yells back, and I laugh.
"Uhm, yeah. Keep telling yourself that, pouty." I answer, shaking my head.
"Listen, half breed, we are only together on this to save Amber and nothing more. I hope you die in the process, by the way." Ezra grumbles, and things are looking up.
"You know, Ezzy. I think we’ll get along just fine." I say as he looks at me in total unmasked horror.
"Don’t ever call me Ezzy again!" He yells, as he throws a stick at me.
Yeah, we’ll be just fine. I just need to ditch the bitch somewhere, and then the world will be right again. Don’t worry, my sweet princess, I am coming for you!
