Chapter 112: Chapter 112 Kidnapped
Amber’s POV
Everything went dark.
I don’t know how long I’ve been out for, but when I awake I’m hanging in midair. Panic is all I feel as I look down. The ground is just tiny spots, and my mind is all over the place. How, when, and where? What the hell happened?
The last thing I remember is standing with Chase in my pack. We were facing the adults, who were obviously not agreeing over anything. Then the King smirked, and something grabbed me... FUCK!
I look up, and right enough. There is a dragon holding onto me. Why? Why would they kidnap me? I was accepting their prince as my mate... Oh!
Suddenly the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I was accepting the heir to the throne as my mate. They don’t want me to accept him. Are they trying to scare me? Then they have another thing coming. I am not going to be some scared little damsel in distress. I am the next witch Queen, a fire elemental and daughter of Abigail and Mathew Blue for christ’s sake! I will not be scared away by some big lizard.
As I think things through, I look behind me. Something or someone is trying to speak to me in my mind.
’Amber?!’ A male voice calls out. It’s soothing and masculine.
’Chase?’ I ask, confused. If he can mind-link me... WAIT?! Can he mind-link me? How?
’Please calm down, my darling. I can feel you all the way down here.’ He says. Is he amused? What the fuck.
’This is NOT funny, Chase. Your people KIDNAPPED me! Kidnapped!’ I answer with a sneer. Ignis is not happy with my tone towards our mate. She feels it’s not his fault these primitive creatures resolved to such a low act to get their point through. I had to agree, but then again - what is there to be amused about?
’I know. I’m so sorry! I don’t know what is going through my father’s mind doing this. I am fighting to come to get you, but they keep blocking me.’ Chase links me, and I can hear the irritation in his mental voice.
The flight continues for a while, and Chase keeps talking to me in my mind. He is clearly trying to comfort me, perhaps afraid I will reject him because of it. That, however, is not going to work. I will not reject the one the moon goddess has chosen for me, so those lizards just have to learn to accept me one day. I cross my arms, a defiant look in my eyes. freёwebnovel.com
’We’ll show those ignorant bastards who’s the Queen here!’ Ignis says with a wolf smirk.
’Princess, Ignis. We are no Queen - yet.’ I corrected her. She shakes her big furry head.
’Queen.’ She replies, before settling in the back of my mind. She’s crazy. Maybe the thin air has made her forget who’s the real Queen. I roll my eyes. Sometimes she’s just too much.
As I concentrated on my weird wolf, I haven’t noticed we are starting to descend before we are almost at the ground. The dragon holding me, obviously wants me to know I am not wanted because instead of settling me on the ground like a nice lizard, the bastard dumps me. I land and make a fall I have learned in training, to roll on the ground and landing on my feet in position to fight. However, no one is attacking me. They just land in a loose circle around me, staring like weirdos.
A crimson dragon lands directly in front of me, and stalks towards me like a predator to his prey. As he is right in front of me, I put up a burning hot barrier. The dragon put his snout to it, but quickly retracted because of the burn. He growls in agitation before a bright red and golden dragon runs through the barrier. I’m stumped. No one has ever been able to do that. But then his scent hits me. It’s Chase. Then it makes more sense, but still.
Chase growls back towards the crimson dragon, who is still staring daggers at me. freewёbnoνel.com
"Okay, can we get this over with? You kidnapped me, and I don’t like people trying to manipulate me or my family. So either you start talking, or I will leave." I say with a lot more confidence than I feel. Chase’s dragon whimpers slightly at the word ’leave’. I put a hand on him. He doesn’t scare me at all. Quite the opposite actually.
’You wouldn’t leave, right?’ He asks with a pleading undertone to his voice.
’I will if I don’t get any answers, Chase. I can’t stay if I’m only here for them to drive me away anyway.’ I answer honestly. I have this weird feeling I should be at my pack, like a strong desire to be there - as if something or someone important is there. Maybe Mira Rose came home despite Maze’s fuck up. Talking about fuck ups, I have a she-wolf there to beat bloody for messing with my family.
"So, what is it going to be King Callus? Am I staying so this stunt was not for nothing?" I ask out loud, putting my hands on my hips. A stance I’ve seen my mom do so many times when she is impatient.
"We will tell you so as much, as if you don’t show more potential as a future Queen of the west Kingdom, you will not be here for long." A young man beside the King’s dragon says with a sneer. He looks at me like I’m something disgusting.
"I didn’t ask you!" I say with an eyebrow raised. "I asked the King, and if he can’t answer for himself, then he is not much of a ruler, huh." I roll my eyes. I’ve had enough of this charade already.
’I’m a royal, Callus. I can mind-link you, but the polite thing here would have been you shifting with an apology.’ I say to him, while sharing it with Chase. And then I almost facepalm myself. Of course! I’m a royal, and so is he. That is why we can mind-link without marking each other. Crap the thin air messed with my mind.
