Chapter 627: Chapter 347: The Bodhisattva’s Death Ferments (Part 2)
The muscles had distinct and graceful lines, neither protruding nor coiled.
However, only he knew exactly how resilient his muscles were.
After all, since his debut, there were few who could injure him.
Besides his resilient muscles, he also had the Exotic Golden Bell Shield, Myriad Poison Body Protection Barrier, and other defense techniques.
The cultivators he encountered found it difficult to break through these protective techniques, let alone harm his physical body.
Moreover, he was fully aware that his physical body now was definitely stronger than the Exotic Golden Bell Shield.
About two hours later, the "Celestial Dragon Burning Blood Seal" would no longer produce significant side effects on his body.
In the two consecutive hours of casting the "Celestial Dragon Burning Blood Seal," his lifespan extended by over ten thousand years.
Remaining lifespan: 133,802
Su Que pressed lightly against the mountain wall with his hand.
The Profound Evil Ice Rock, known for its hardness, sank in as if it were tofu.
Although Su Que was incredibly strong, his excellent spiritual power allowed him to have equally strong control.
He was able to control his power so well that he wouldn’t accidentally damage anything with a casual knock or touch.
Just as easily as he could crush a mountain with a casual punch, he could also lightly crack a melon seed shell without damaging the kernel inside.
...
After testing his strength, Su Que began contemplating his future.
This time, he had killed the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva.
The Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva was one of the middle-ranked bodhisattvas of Spirit Mountain.
Among the Spirit Mountain bodhisattvas, the most formidable and feared by cultivators of the Upper Realm were Bodhisattva Guanyin, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Below the four great bodhisattvas were the middle-ranked ones in Spirit Mountain.
Including the likes of Akasagarbha Bodhisattva, Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva, and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva.
The lowest ranked bodhisattvas, who had not yet broken through to the Creation Realm, included the Hundred-legged Bodhisattva who Su Que had killed.
In Spirit Mountain, bodhisattvas were already considered high-level combat power.
For beneath the bodhisattvas were many bhikkhus, arhats, and dharma guardian deities.
Su Que’s killing of the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva might provoke the other bodhisattvas of Spirit Mountain, and potentially lead the Spirit Mountain Buddhas to cast the Destiny Communication against him.
Although his Nine-Turn Celestial Demon Technique’s "Seventy-Two Transformations" and "Other Transformation Skill" could obscure celestial secrets, making him difficult to trace with Destiny Communication.
However, if several bodhisattvas in Spirit Mountain were determined to find out who killed the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva, they might jointly perform the Destiny Communication.
The combined efforts of several bodhisattvas could possibly pierce through the veil of celestial secrets obscured by his Nine-Turn Celestial Demon Technique and sense his presence.
Nonetheless, he learned something from the memories of the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva.
That is, Destiny Communication also has its weaknesses.
If the cultivator is in a place crowded with many other cultivators,
the intertwined karmic forces of each cultivator mutually influence each other.
Then those performing Destiny Communication would find it difficult to sense the precise location of a single cultivator.
Their senses would be affected by the overlapping karma.
Su Que thus considered whether he should leave this Snow Mountain and settle in an Immortal City.
Immortal Cities, in the unclaimed lands, are gathers of cultivators.
Because many of the cultivators in the unclaimed lands ascended from small worlds.
They possess lifespans of at least several hundred years.
To cultivators from the small worlds, they are indeed viewed as immortals.
Hence, the cities they inhabit are called "Immortal Cities."
Su Que, from the memories of Wang Yan and other cultivators, learned the locations of several great Immortal Cities.
The nearest one was the Immortal City, "Xianming City."
He knew that several groups of cultivators coming for him were residents of Xianming City.
Some came because they were short on resources, others because their lifespan was near its end, prompting them to seek him out hoping for an opportunity.
However, these cultivators did not realize that they became opportunities for others instead.
Su Que gained not only their essence qi but also the cultivation resources they painstakingly collected.
Su Que, thinking this, couldn’t help but pace in the cave.
Having collected numerous storage pouches from many people, he acquired considerable cultivation resources.
The karmic force within him also accumulated substantially.
He indeed needed a period of quiet cultivation.
Yet, he was reluctant to leave this Snow Mountain.
After all, as a cultivator using karmic force for cultivation, this Snow Mountain could enhance his cultivation speed.
If he went to Xianming City to cultivate for a while,
he feared that upon return, this Snow Mountain would have been shattered by cultivators and its Profound Evil Ice Rock sold off everywhere.
’However, my spiritual power is strong, and if anyone performs Destiny Communication on me, I would sense it as well.’
Su Que thought to himself and decided to leave immediately once Spirit Mountain’s cultivators sensed his presence.
With this in mind, Su Que calmed his heart spirit and began cultivation.
With enough karmic force in his body, he began cultivating the Nine-Turn Celestial Demon Technique.
Now, this technique was his primary cultivation technique.
This technique is not only an advanced technique of the Merging Realm but also an advanced technique of the Creation Realm.
If he ascended further in the Creation Realm, both his attack power and defense would significantly increase.
Su Que sat cross-legged according to the posture of the Nine-Turn Celestial Demon Technique.
The karmic force within began to deplete.
Strands of purple-black gas emerged around him.
Making him appear like a demon god.
The energy generated by the Nine-Turn Celestial Demon Technique grew stronger with the consumption of karmic force, circulating within his body.
And the karmic force would produce side effects on his blood and flesh meridians.
With the reversal of these side effects, his blood and flesh meridians gradually became more resilient.
His physique gradually strengthened.
...
A month passed without notice.
At Spirit Mountain.
Many bhikkhus, arhats, and dharma guardian deities originally intended to listen to the teachings of the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva.
However, the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva was nowhere to be seen.
Some bodhisattvas familiar with the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva searched for him multiple times, only to find him absent from the dharma field.
These Spirit Mountain cultivators inquired with some disciples at the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva’s dharma field and learned that he had left to find a dragon he was rearing.
However, a month passed without his return.
Gradually, the cultivators of Spirit Mountain began to speculate about the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva’s whereabouts.
Some speculated that he had gone to the small world he dominated, setting up plans to fulfill his grand vow to become a Buddha.
Yet others argued that if he were setting up plans in the small world, he could simply dispatch a thought. There was no need to go personally.
Akasagarbha Bodhisattva, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, and several others found his prolonged absence troubling and worried for his life.
They feared that the celestial soldiers of the Celestial Court might have ambushed and assassinated the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva using underhanded means.
Thus, they jointly performed the Destiny Communication.
Afraid of being ensnared by karma, they opted not to directly sense the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva’s location, instead first determining his life or death.
Upon performing Destiny Communication, they quickly determined that the Great Mighty Dragon Bodhisattva had died.
Without even leaving a soul fragment behind.
This realization shocked Akasagarbha Bodhisattva and the other bodhisattvas.
Akasagarbha Bodhisattva and his fellow bodhisattvas decided to report this news to Bodhisattva Guanyin.
Over the millennia, Spirit Mountain Buddhas have been either in closed cultivation or engaged in prolonged battles with the gods of the Celestial Court.
Most matters of Spirit Mountain were handled by the bodhisattvas and arhats below.
In the face of major issues, they would typically first consult Bodhisattva Guanyin.
Should Bodhisattva Guanyin find it difficult, they would then approach the Spirit Mountain Buddhas.
The entity Akasagarbha Bodhisattva and others sought was not Guanyin herself but one of her avatars.
Bodhisattva Guanyin possessed the most avatars among Spirit Mountain bodhisattvas.
One avatar would remain in the dharma field to cultivate and receive messages.
Another avatar guarded her dominant small world, preventing its destruction by the Celestial Court and the undoing of years of plans for Buddha’s vow.
Yet another avatar led Spirit Mountain monk soldiers in battles against the celestial soldiers.
