Chapter 131: Tourist Attraction

Doctor Ella said, "This is actually a Central Reception Hall. Due to my status as a Senior Research Fellow, my residence can accommodate almost twenty individuals primarily for research gatherings, medical discussions, visiting scholars, and for long-term guests.

I even invited Doctor Eleanor to live permanently here, so she can work at the Clark Grand Hospital. Unfortunately, she rejected me."

Doctor Eleanor rolled her eyes. "I already said I’ll be a doctor in my hometown before I became one."

Doctor Ella giggled. "I was just teasing you."

Felix and others swept their gaze around and admired the internal layout of the house. The design conveyed the status of the owner.

Felix had already decided that he would buy a residence similar or even better than this to his family.

Doctor Ella’s guests rested at the sofa she had already prepared for them. She used her credits to buy them, knowing that her guests weren’t staying on her residence for research gatherings.

She had also bought a large TV, facing the sofa, which Doctor Eleanor comfortably reached out for the remote and turned the TV on.

She switched for the news until finally, her face suddenly appeared in the broadcasting network. The caster shared information about her breakthrough in the incurable disease as she was about to discuss it in the Annual National Medical Assembly.

The thesis and its contents has been publicized. Hence, it was all over the news, quickly overshadowing Felix and Krisha’s unprecedented growth and their performance last week.

Doctor Ella was listening behind them and couldn’t help but say after the news switch to another topic, "If only they know about Felix and Krisha’s second summoning this friday, the topic about your thesis will be obscured by them."

Felix and Krisha simply smiled while Doctor Eleanor giggled. "I wouldn’t be surprised, too. Nevertheless, they should know that my thesis was only possible because of Felix. So, the news will always be about Felix and it might remain like that for who knows how long?"

Felix was stupefied. Krisha gazed at her and laughed.

She said, "I feel more relieved now that he’s becoming famous for good reason."

Others quickly caught what she meant.

Sarah and Noah agreed with Krisha, as well. They recalled how anxious and worried they were every time they read the weekly news.

Thankfully, everything went well for Felix. They were immensely proud of their son.

They enjoyed themselves in Doctor Ella’s residence. Felix’s parents were engaging themselves by watching the television, while Krisha and Mia were chatting with each other while staring at the phone.

Master Shen surprisingly meditated while Doctor Eleanor was also scrolling at her phone with a solemn expression, as though she was reading something.

Felix swept his gaze at them and finally decided to quietly leave as Doctor Ella went to the kitchen to prepare for their lunch.

Felix didn’t want to waste time lying around inside. After asking permission for his parents to go outside, despite them being unwilling because of the searing hot weather, he finally left and searched for a spot to train outside.

Thankfully, there was also a big tree in the garden, with different type of flowers enhancing the beauty of Doctor Ella’s residence.

He met with the gardener, who was trimming shrubs and bushes.

The gardener noticed his presence and hastily turned around and bowed towards him.

Felix also bowed, startling the gardener.

The gardener exuded a dim aura, conveying he was at the Awakener rank. Felix swept his gaze around and saw a Grassfang Hound inside its shelter, observing him.

Felix smiled at it and the Grassfang Hound didn’t react. The Grassfang Hound didn’t appear hostile towards him, knowing that Felix was stronger than them.

The gardener was aware of it. Despite not perceiving the Energy aura of Felix as the latter managed to conceal it and only Commander Beast Tamer and above could catch it, he sensed an unfathomable aura from Felix.

He thought. At such a young age, he already achieve so much. Just how bright is his future?

Felix asked, "Can I practice there?" He pointed at a place shrouded by the big tree.

The gardener gazed at it and nodded. "As long as you have Doctor Ella’s permission, then it should be fine."

Felix felt awkward. Doctor Ella was busy at the moment and he failed to ask permission for her.

He thought. As long as I’m not destroying anything.

Felix then proceeded at the place and summoned Rain. He didn’t summon Moon, knowing she would be uncomfortable with the searing heat.

The gardener and his beast pet was stunned when Felix summoned a sword out of nowhere. They were alarmed but after seeing how innocent Felix appeared despite having a serious expression and swung his sword, seemingly practicing, the gardener and his beast pet heaved a sigh of relief.

Nevertheless, he kept his eyes glued at Felix filled with wonder.

The sword came from the storage ring, right? That means that youth is not an ordinary person.

The gardener barely had time for news and social media as he mostly enjoyed his time by tending not only Doctor Ella’s gardens but even in the neighborhood as well.

When Felix practiced with Rain, he didn’t conjure Energy at all, afraid he might destroy or even cut a single leaf. He didn’t want to offend Doctor Ella, who was kind enough to let them stay.

He practiced until Doctor Eleanor went outside to search for him.

She was in disbelief when she saw Felix practiced as what Master Shen had said.

She walked towards him and scolded him.

"Can’t you take a rest? You’re having a vacation for your sake!"

Felix shrugged. "Practicing with Rain is a form of rest. Two days inside the Obsidian Wing made me uncomfortable and felt like my muscles had gone soft."

"You’re exaggerating. That’s not how it works." Doctor Eleanor rolled her eyes. "Let’s go now and have lunch. Ella herself cooked for us."

She turned towards the gardener and invited him to have a lunch with them...

...

For the next two days, Doctor Ella’s guests had their eventful time inside and outside of her residence. After they had their lunch as soon on the first day, she immediately took them out to visit the tourist attraction until Friday arrived.

The guests visited every tourist spot in the Verdant Ring—the Hanging Gardens of Aureline was one of their favorite place.

It was inevitable. The Hanging Gardens of Aureline was considered as the most famous public garden complex in Clark City, having a thousand gardener to take care of it everyday.

It was a massive layered botanical terraces suspended between residential towers and elevated walkways, known for its luminous night flora, floating water channels, and energy-reactive flowering trees.

It has so many features like quiet reading terraces, reflection ponds, physician memorial groves, outdoor cafe promenades which was very expensive that made Felix’s parents worried even though they weren’t the one who spent money in buying for them, and therapeutic walking paths.

Mia was filled with enthusiasm when they visited the Skybridge Promenade. A colossal elevated pedestrian network suspended between aerial residential towers.

It provided panoramic views of the Skyward Ring, passing aircraft, and Clark City’s layered skyline. freewebnøvel.coɱ

At night, they visited the Dawnwatch Frontier Market—the largest open civilian market in the Verdant Ring.

Felix and Krisha were visibly excited buying products for Moon and PengPeng.

It was even less expensive than the Beastore in Chambers City, so they bought in bulk. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Felix also managed to buy another storage ring, but more three times spacious than his other storage ring.

He was so satisfied that realizing he spent more than a million credit barely ached his pocket.

The last place they visited was the Great Verdant Conservatory—a gigantic enclosed ecological dome, which functioned as a botanical park, climate sanctuary, and educational attraction.

It has a temperate forests, aquatic gardens, medicinal flora reserves, and controlled beast habitats.

But the main attraction was the famous Resonance Lake.

A tranquil artificial lake stabilized by energy-regulating crystal pillars. The lake subtly reacts to environmental energy fluctuations, causing its surface to emit soft waves of light during the evening.

Until Friday arrived. At this moment, everyone gathered in the Awakening Plaza. The black obsidian obelisk was open for Commander Rank and above every friday during their second summoning.

Although the Awakening Plaza was a tourist attraction, with the presence of the black obsidian obelisk, it was treated with solemn respect rather than entertainment.

The Awakening Plaza was enormous, able to hold a million citizen at once. It was still divided to two ring, where the inner ring has access to the black obsidian obelisk, while the outer ring was simply a public plaza, containing memorial walls, engraved names, historical relief sculptures, an remembrance gardens.

There was also a monumental civic structure bordering the plaza, functioning as museum, historical archive, and ceremonial assembly hall.

At this moment, Felix and Krisha were being accompanied by others, who took their time walking leisurely on the public plaza.

Inevitably, they arrived at one of the roads leading inside the inner ring, where there was a Commander Beast Tamer at late rank, standing tall and solemn like a guard.

They paused and informed them that they would finally have their second summoning.

They bid good luck to Felix and Krisha, who only smiled in response.

They glanced at each other and finally, turned around and entered inside the inner ring after receiving the guards’ permission.
