Chapter 93: Bait

Although it seemed as if Tang Yin was just any random gambler trying to make a fortune, he was in fact using the Heaven Piercing Gaze to scout out any Gambling Stones housing a treasure within.

From Tang Yin’s observation, he could tell that there were around 50 or so Gambling Stones placed on each table. All the Gambling Stones had different colours, but no matter which stone, the tone of the colour was always dark.

Tang Yin had only passed the first table in disappointment to immediately be greeted with delight at the second table. He saw a dark purple Gambling Stone, inside of it was a hairpin-looking object. Tang Yin could not make it out exactly as he had never seen such an object before. Nonetheless, he still decided to purchase it.

Tang Yin picked up the dark purple Gambling Stone and walked up to the peak Spirit Channelling Realm cultivator overseeing the second table. The attention of all the cultivators was drawn to Tang Yin from this act. Most cultivators would just inspect a Gambling Stone and only purchase one if they were highly confident in their chances of gaining a treasure.

Tang Yin ignored the various gazes of the cultivators, the price of the dark purple Gambling Stone was only 15 Low-grade Spirit Stones. He handed 15 Low-grade Spirit Stones to the Spirit Channelling Realm cultivator and stored away the Gambling Stone without a word.

Tang Yin continued strolling around the gambling den under the occasional glances of some cultivators. He scouted the rest of the second table to find nothing else, he moved onto the third table.

After a short while, Tang Yin walked past both the third and fourth tables in disappointment, he only saw empty Gambling Stones on the third or fourth tables.

Once Tang Yin reached the end of the fifth table, his eyes lit up. A dark blue average-looking Gambling Stone had caught his attention. Tang Yin grabbed the dark blue Gambling Stone and approached the cultivator looking over the table. Everyone once again focused their gazes on Tang Yin.

Some thirsty cultivators even started trailing behind him, Tang Yin ignored all of this. He paid a small sum for the Gambling Stone and moved on to the next table.

Tang Yin had noticed the cultivators following behind him, and he sneered. Tang Yin put on a look of interest and expectation, he reached out to grab a dark yellow Gambling Stone before him.

Whoosh

One of the cultivators trailing behind Tang Yin quickly zoomed by, the dark yellow Gambling Stone was snatched by him before Tang Yin could touch it. He looked at Tang Yin with mockery and approached the cultivator overlooking the 6th table.

The cultivator brought out 30 Low-grade Spirit Stones and paid for the Gambling Stone. He did not store it away but instead loudly declared "Watch me get a treasure!". The surrounding cultivators crowded around the cultivator with interest. Even Tang Yin was among the crowd, this was mainly because he wanted to observe the method the cultivator would use to open the Gambling Stone.

A cultivator could decide whether they wanted to dissect a Gambling Stone in the gambling den in front of everyone or if they wished to open a Gambling Stone privately.

The cultivator put on a proud look, he held the dark yellow Gambling Stone in his hand and started chipping away at it slowly and gently with his Qi. Tang Yin observed the process very carefully.

minutes passed. The Gambling Stone had shrunk by over half. The cultivator had an excited expression on his face, he believed the time for a treasure to unveil itself had nearly arrived.

This excitement and expectation slowly turned into a bitter feeling before transforming into Killing Intent aimed at Tang Yin. The cultivator had just finished chipping away the Gambling Stone in his hand into dust, there was no treasure.

He had realised that Tang Yin had purposefully made it seem as if the dark yellow Gambling Stone had a high chance of containing a treasure to bait him. Once this realisation dawned upon him, he was full of hate towards Tang Yin.

The other cultivators who were following behind Tang Yin thanked the heavens that they did not swoop in for that Gambling Stone. Even all the other cultivators looked towards Tang Yin, everyone had realised what had happened.

Tang Yin turned a blind eye to this, he pretended to be clueless and continued scouting out Gambling Stones on the sixth table. frёeωebɳovel.com

The cultivator full of Killing Intent swallowed his hate, he gave one last glare towards Tang Yin before leaving the gambling den. All the other cultivators who had previously followed behind Tang Yin did not dare to follow him around anymore. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

Tang Yin’s expression did not show anything, but he was chuckling coldly in his heart. Without a display of dominance, everyone would think of him as a stepping stone.

A few hours later, Tang Yin exited the gambling den. He had scouted all 20 tables and had even double-checked once over. He had purchased a total of 8 Gambling Stones. Tang Yin did not open the Gambling Stones in the gambling den much to everyone’s disappointment, he instead stored them in his Navy Mountain Ring.
