Chapter 341: I Want...

"I thought my methods were rather subtle. How did you find out?" Qian Zhong halted his laughter and questioned Tang Yin with a curious gaze. However, his bloodthirsty face filled with greed was unconcealable in Tang Yin’s eyes.

Tang Yin was somewhat surprised that Qian Zhong was so carefree even after he had torn apart his Heavenly Lunar Chariot. However, Qian Zhong was a Law Domain Realm cultivator, he had the power to be calm and carefree in most situations.

"The landscape that the Heavenly Lunar Chariot travelled through was very unfamiliar. However, what truly gave everything away was the aura of the Demonic Beasts." Tang Yin smiled before beginning his explanation.

Of course, he wasn’t explaining things out of the goodness of his heart or out of confidence. Instead, he believed that if he spoke about how Qian Zhong had given himself away, perhaps Qian Zhong would also explain his nefarious plot to him to confirm his speculation.

"The aura of Demonic Beasts?" Qian Zhong frowned and seemed to be in deep thought. However, he still couldn’t understand what Tang Yin meant after pondering deeply. As such, he trained his eyes on Tang Yin, waiting for him to continue his explanation.

"I still remember the aura of the Demonic Beasts we passed by on the way to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land. Although Demonic Beasts vary from Region to Region, for cultivators on our level, remembering their aura is not a very difficult task." Tang Yin stated.

Qian Zhong listened intently, he did not want to miss even a single detail. He was truly curious about how he had exposed himself.

"The Demonic Beasts we have passed by so far on our way back to the Moonlit River Sect are different from what I remember. Their auras are unfamiliar and foreign. Not to mention, the landscape and Regions that we are currently passing through do not lead straight back to the Moonlit River Sect."

Tang Yin’s words weren’t outright lies, but they didn’t reveal the complete truth either. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

On his first expedition to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land alongside Qian Zhong, he keenly observed the Demonic Beasts in each Region using his Heaven Piercing Gaze

He utilised the new ability of the Heaven Piercing Gaze, which allowed him to literally see the Principles within everything.

Of course, revealing his ability to see Principles was out of the question. So, cleverly, he masked it by describing the Demonic Beasts’ "aura" instead. This way, he skilfully avoided drawing any suspicion to himself and kept his secret ability hidden from Qian Zhong.

Normally, Tang Yin wouldn’t bother with weak Demonic Beasts, but on this occasion, he made a special exception. He diligently observed the locations of the Rank 8 Demonic Beasts that Qian Zhong avoided.

Instead of searching for Rank 8 Demonic Beasts in the future, he would already know their locations beforehand thanks to Qian Zhong. If it weren’t for this fact, Tang Yin wouldn’t have paid any sort of attention to the Demonic Beasts in all of the Regions they had travelled through.

"Quite the observant one, aren’t you, Junior Brother." Qian Zhong remarked with appreciation.

Usually, powerful cultivators wouldn’t bother with observing weaker lifeforms as it was beneath them to waste time and effort on such a futile task.

"However, I’m pretty sure that alone isn’t enough to expose me. What else gave me away?" Qian Zhong leisurely stood in the sky, waiting for Tang Yin to continue speaking.

As a Law Domain Realm cultivator, there were very few things in the world that could interfere with him. He had all the time in the world to do what he wished.

Tang Yin’s smirk deepened. With a wide grin plastered across his face, he opened his mouth to speak again.

"Normally, even the most devoted Senior Brother wouldn’t wait for their Junior Brother for a whole decade. You could have returned to the Moonlit River Sect and then come back to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land once the ten years had passed."

"But instead, you chose to remain at the defensive outpost throughout the entire duration. This implies that you had a strong hunch about something significant occurring, and you were patiently anticipating that event."

After Tang Yin said this, his grin became even more distinct, and a suffocating pressure spread from his body.

"If I’m not mistaken, the Abyss Dragon’s appearance should’ve been due to something you did, right? Perhaps this was the ’event’ you were waiting for?"

As soon as Tang Yin finished speaking, Qian Zhong’s expression twisted into disbelief.

How did he know!?

However, after a moment, clarity returned to his mind. "Well done. I didn’t think you were this smart. It’s no wonder you were able to reach such a high level of cultivation all by yourself." Qian Zhong started to applaud loudly, not even trying to hide the deep praise on his face.

Tang Yin’s grin vanished, it was replaced by callous coldness and powerful Killing Intent.

"Relax, we’re not done yet." Qian Zhong casually waved his hand, halting Tang Yin from taking action.

"Do you know how and why I wanted the Abyss Dragon to attack you?" Qian Zhong brought up a question which piqued Tang Yin’s curiosity.

"Isn’t it to kill me?" Tang Yin asked with scepticism.

"Oh, Junior Brother. It seems your prior cleverness has deserted you." Qian Zhong remarked with a sigh. Nonetheless, he granted Tang Yin the space and time to contemplate his question.

In an instant, Tang Yin’s eyes widened with realization, and he shifted his gaze towards his right index finger. It was at this very spot where the strand of hair, containing Tian Huang’s one-time full-powered attack, had once been housed!

"It seems you understand. Yes, it was to expend Senior Tian’s power. After all, his power was of the Late-stage Law Domain Realm calibre." Qian Zhong explained after seeing Tang Yin’s gaze intent on his index finger.

"But why? Didn’t you want to kill me?" Tang Yin did not understand the point of consuming Tian Huang’s power. Wasn’t it better to just kill him?

"Of course, that is the goal. However, before that, I want something from you. If it weren’t for that, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation, I would have killed you straight away." Qian Zhong’s eyes turned serious as he readied his next words.

"What could I possibly possess that even an esteemed Law Domain Realm cultivator such as yourself would desire?" Tang Yin slowly took a step back. He somewhat understood where things were heading.

"I want Senior Tian’s inheritance or rather 2 specific things inside the inheritance." Qian Zhong’s words were full of greed, he completely ignored Tang Yin’s action of taking a step back.

"Which 2 things?" Tang Yin asked. If what Qian Zhong wanted was not too important to him, it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to trade, if Qian Zhong was willing to...

"I want the two Tier 1 Martial Skills from Senior Tian’s inheritance, the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning and Heaven’s Descent." There was an air of confidence in his words as if he believed that everything he desired would inevitably come to fruition.

Tang Yin was shocked and perplexed.

He was shocked at the fact that Qian Zhong wanted these two Tier 1 Martial Skills. Didn’t a Law Domain Realm cultivator such as himself already possess at least a few Tier 1 Martial Skills?

’Does Qian Zhong not know about the two Divine Spirit Skills in Master’s inheritance? After all, they are way more valuable than the two Tier 1 Martial Skills.’ This was the reason for Tang Yin’s confusion.

Seeing the puzzled look on Tang Yin’s face, Qian Zhong took it upon himself to step in and provide an explanation, even though his assumption about the reason for Tang Yin’s confusion was incorrect.

"It appears you are unaware of a crucial fact. In the vast expanse of the True Martial World, there exist only 25 Tier 1 Martial Skills and 15 Divine Spirit Skills. These Divine Spirit Skills are all of the Yellow-tier and are exclusively wielded by the 10 Sovereigns."

"As for the Tier 1 Martial Skills, the majority of them are also under the possession of the 10 Sovereigns. Nevertheless, in exceptional circumstances, a Sovereign may choose to bestow one of these Tier 1 Martial Skills upon a devoted subject as a reward for their loyalty."

"Therefore, only a handful of Law Domain Realm cultivators possess Tier 1 Martial Skills. Even then, most of them are either within the Late-stage or Peak-stage of the Law Domain Realm."

Tang Yin was truly shocked. None of this was stated in Tian Huang’s jade token. He also did not believe that a Late-stage Law Domain Realm cultivator like Tian Huang did not possess this knowledge.

"But how did you know Master had two Tier 1 Martial Skills in his inheritance?" Tang Yin asked. He knew for certain that only Qian Zhong knew that he possessed Tian Huang’s inheritance.

"Senior Tian didn’t tell you? Well, there is a rumour among high-level cultivators regarding Senior Tian..." An expression of amusement was visible across Qian Zhong’s face. Clearly, he was enjoying Tang Yin’s shock and doubt.
