Chapter 278: Emerald Beast Region and Jade Elk

Tang Yin knew the power of the Devastating Void Roar. However, he was still shocked. A powerful Mid-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast that focused solely on defence had been sent to the brink of death just like that.

After an eternal second, Tang Yin sighed softly.

He walked up towards the unrecognizable Ironclad Armadillo. He emotionlessly killed it with the Ethereal Slaughter Art, took its Demonic Beast Core and extracted its Beast Soul. It was way too weak at the moment, even a Qi Transformation Realm cultivator could kill it in its current state.

He stowed away the Demonic Beast Core inside his storage ring and stored the Beast Soul inside the Beast Soul Receptacle.

The Ironclad Armadillo’s armoured shell and scales were rare and precious materials which could be used to forge powerful defensive Artifacts. However, all of these precious materials had been obliterated and reduced to nothing by the Devastating Void Roar.

The Ironclad Armadillo was essentially just a piece of flesh now, it was worthless. Tang Yin ordered Xiao Fei to incinerate the Ironclad Armadillo’s corpse.

Tang Yin had only partially accomplished his goal. He wanted to kill a few more Rank 7 Demonic Beasts.

After taking everything valuable from the Ironclad Armadillo and incinerating its body, Tang Yin and Xiao Fei utilized Space Warp to instantly travel 1,000 kilometres to the northwest.

Upon exiting the tear in space, Tang Yin spread out his divine sense. Surprisingly, his divine sense was just barely able to cover an entire Region.

The Region was over a thousand kilometres large, and its atmosphere was rife with Qi. From what Tang Yin could glimpse, there were mountains and forests everywhere.

He thought back to the map of the Bright Yang Continent he had obtained from Tian Huang’s jade token. By now, he had already memorized it.

From what he could remember, he was currently within the Emerald Beast Region. It was a bundle of majestic mountain ranges, towering mountains, lush forests, vibrant jungles, crystal clear rivers and flourishing wildlife. It was a place of beauty, attracting mortals and cultivators alike.

What made the Emerald Beast Region unique, however, were its inhabitants. Here, Demonic Beasts could be found everywhere. In fact, they were so numerous that even cultivators and mortals were outnumbered.

The truly fascinating part of the Emerald Beast Region was that most of its Demonic Beast population were peaceful herbivores. It was unlike other Regions where bloodthirsty and fierce Demonic Beasts could be found roaming around everywhere.

Of course, that did not mean that there were no predators and the like in the Emerald Beast Region. In fact, with such easy and nourishing prey, these bloodthirsty and hostile predators flourished and grew stronger rapidly.

However, this was exactly what cultivators, or rather, Spirit Beast Tamers hoped for. The predators could grow rapidly with nearly no obstacles and dangers inside the Emerald Beast Region. Due to this, they became powerful very quickly.

Once these predators reached a certain strength, they would be captured by Spirit Beast Tamers and tamed into being pets and Spirit Beasts.

In essence, the fierce and hostile Demonic Beast predators preyed on the weak peaceful Demonic Beasts to further their strength. Once they became strong enough, they would be captured and tamed by cultivators. The Emerald Beast Region was essentially just a breeding ground for Spirit Beasts.

One species of Demonic Beast in particular, the Jade Elk, was the trademark signature of the Emerald Beast Region. These majestic creatures stood over ten feet tall at the shoulder, with shimmering green fur, and golden antlers that gleamed in the sunlight.

Despite their size, the Jade Elk were docile creatures, known for their gentle nature and friendly demeanour. They roamed the Emerald Beast Region in large herds, grazing on the lush vegetation and drinking on the sapphire-coloured river streams.

Contrary to the low fertility rate of Demonic Beasts, the Jade Elk reproduced astonishingly quickly.

They consisted of most of the Emerald Beast Region’s Demonic Beast population. They were the main targets of prey for the predatory Demonic Beasts and their only fundamental purpose in life was to be another Demonic Beast’s nourishment.

The cultivators also made sure that the population of the Jade Elk did not fall below a certain level as it could endanger the food source and prosperity of the Emerald Beast Region.

Since the Jade Elk could be found virtually anywhere, the ferocious predatory Demonic Beasts very rarely attacked mortal humans and cultivators. If on the off chance, this did happen, the stronger cultivators would ’deal’ with the rampaging Demonic Beast.

Tang Yin felt 3 Principle Manipulation Realm divine senses sweep past his body, but they receded a moment later.

The reason for this was quite simple, no single organization owned the Emerald Beast Region.

There had been multiple Rank 6 and 7 Organizations that had tried to take over the Emerald Beast Region in the past. However, this sparked public outrage amongst the Spirit Beast Tamers.

After all, the Emerald Beast Region was fundamentally a paradise for Spirit Beast Tamers. They could tame any and all types of Demonic Beasts of their choice inside the Emerald Beast Region. The benefits and allure of the Emerald Beast Region were too precious to simply let any single force occupy unless it was a Rank 8 Organization.

Under the united pressure of the Spirit Beast Tamer community, all organizations that had their eyes on the Emerald Beast Region were forced to back off.

However, the Spirit Beast Tamer community was not an organization. They were just an individual or a group of Spirit Beast Tamers that had banded together for their future. They all had their own interests and priorities, they could not keep things inside the Emerald Beast Region the same forever.

Currently, the Emerald Beast Region did not belong to any single organization. However, small parts of the Emerald Beast Region were split up among various different powerful organizations and transformed into Spirit Beast nurturing grounds.

Since the Emerald Beast Region was still open to any and all cultivators, the Spirit Beast Tamer community could not complain or create a fuss.

Therefore, Tang Yin’s appearance sparked some curiosity, but it was not enough to kick him out of the Region. The few Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators in the Emerald Beast Region sent him a cursory glance with their divine senses or just directly ignored him.

Tang Yin also retracted his divine sense. Continuing to observe the entire Region would bring suspicion and even hostility from the other Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators on him.

But this also did not stop him from noting down the locations of all the powerful Demonic Beasts in the Emerald Beast Region.

He had noticed the presence of 17 Rank 7 Demonic Beasts. However, after careful contemplation, he realised why there were so many.

Most of these Rank 7 Demonic Beasts were the Spirit Beasts of the Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators in the Emerald Beast Region. Only a select few were actual wild Demonic Beasts without an owner.

Luckily, one of these wild Demonic Beasts was a Peak-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast! From what Tang Yin had seen, it looked quite similar to a Jade Elk.

The only difference was that it was 300 feet tall, and its fur was a much more crystalline version of green. Currently, it was just resting inside a valley without any worries. It was as if nothing in the world was powerful enough to harm it.

Tang Yin did not rush in to kill it. He wanted more information before generating a plan. He wanted to kill at least three Rank 7 Demonic Beasts from the Emerald Beast Region. If he somehow messed up or did something wrong, there would be no second chances. Such a precious opportunity would not present itself so easily in the future. freewёbnoνel.com

Tang Yin rode Xiao Fei 4 kilometres to the north. He arrived before a small city sitting atop a vegetation-filled mountain.

Tang Yin directly sent his divine sense into the city and soul searched for the strongest cultivator in it, a 3rd stage Qi Transformation Realm cultivator.

A moment later, his divine sense returned, and enlightenment appeared on his face.

From what he had learnt, the Peak-tier Rank 7 Jade Elk was actually the strongest Demonic Beast in the entire Emerald Beast Region. It was too powerful to be a Spirit Beast or prey.

Jade Elk were naturally gentle and friendly creatures, the Peak-tier Rank 7 Jade Elk was no exception.

The Peak-tier Rank 7 Jade Elk roamed the Emerald Beast Region. Wherever it wandered, all conflicts and battles would be put on halt until the Jade Elk left. It was widely known that the Jade Elk disliked conflict, it would directly kill anything that displayed any sort of violence before it.

The Jade Elk liked humans and other Demonic Beasts to a certain degree. If one were lucky enough to catch the Jade Elk’s interest, it would bestow its special healing properties onto that lucky individual.

This was a huge matter as the healing abilities of a Peak-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast were no joke. Even the diseases that Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators were helpless against could potentially be cured by the Jade Elk’s healing capabilities.

Overall, the Peak-tier Rank 7 Jade Elk was a peaceful creature that disliked violence and preferred peace. It constantly wandered around the Emerald Beast Region, granting serendipities to fortunate individuals that caught its interest.
