Chapter 277: Ironclad Armadillo
Thinking about the Ironclad Armadillo’s speciality and abilities, Tang Yin realised that this Mid-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast was essentially a punching bag tailor-made for him.
The Ironclad Armadillo’s eyes shone with intense fury and hatred, it was as if the person before it had killed its parents.
The Ironclad Armadillo charged towards Tang Yin with a surprisingly swift speed. Once it was within a kilometre of Tang Yin, it unexpectedly used its tail to propel itself and jump into the air, right at Tang Yin.
Now faced with the rapidly ’flying’ Ironclad Armadillo, Tang Yin smirked calmly. He simply arched his arm back and threw a casual punch.
Within an instant, the Ironclad Armadillo rammed its armoured shell into Tang Yin’s fist.
BOOM
The devastating sound of an explosion reverberated for a few kilometres, accompanied by intense shockwaves.
The shockwaves were so powerful that one would need to be a Qi Transformation Realm cultivator just to withstand them!
Tang Yin was pushed back by around a kilometre. His fist had turned into a bloody mess. Nevertheless, it was healed in the blink of an eye due to the ability of the Heaven Devouring Abyss Physique, Passive Regeneration.
The Ironclad Armadillo remained unperturbed, it lingered in the same area where the collision had taken place and its armoured shell seemed unscathed. However, if one looked closely, they would be able to notice a minuscule dent.
Due to the sheer power of the shockwaves created by that single collision between the Ironclad Armadillo and Tang Yin, a thick wave of dust and soil wandered through the atmosphere.
The Ironclad Armadillo did not have the ability to fly. Therefore, after the collision, it plummeted from the sky and landed on the ground.
Another wave of dust and soil soared into the atmosphere. A crater had also been created due to the intense weight of the Ironclad Armadillo.
Tang Yin thought for a moment before landing on the ground. Fighting from the sky would provide him with an advantage but it would also be boring and monotone.
Tang Yin’s goal was not only to win the battle but to also test out his power.
Delight appeared in the Ironclad Armadillo’s eyes upon witnessing Tang Yin’s descent, it swiftly charged towards him again. With each step, it covered a distance of hundreds of meters which was accompanied by loud thuds.
Tang Yin also did not retreat, he closed in on the Ironclad Armadillo with the Phantom Steps.
Both of them were not far away from each other in the first place, therefore, they instantly arrived before each other.
Tang Yin jumped into the air and delivered a kick to the Ironclad Armadillo’s armoured shell.
This was a plain martial art he had learned from one of the cultivators he had Soul Plundered in the past. It was a simple martial art named flying jump kick. It required great strength, agility, flexibility and coordination to execute this technique. However, for cultivators, it was extremely easy to perform.
The Ironclad Armadillo promptly rolled onto its armoured shell, its lengthy tail was now descending on Tang Yin.
’Smart.’ Tang Yin thought. He quickly changed his stance and lifted his arms up in front of him.
As the Ironclad Armadillo’s intimidating tail rapidly descended, Tang Yin quickly stepped forward with his right foot whilst simultaneously bringing his rear arm across his body to block the attack. He positioned his forearm above his head, it would be the first thing that the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail would contact.
BANG
Another collision ensued between Tang Yin’s arm and the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail.
Before Tang Yin could be shot into the distance by the force of the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail attack, he executed another martial art technique.
He used his other hand to counterattack with a palm strike. This was a follow-up after moving forward with his lead foot to block the attack.
He transferred the force of the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail strike into his other arm and into his palm. Within a split second, Tang Yin tightly gripped the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail and swung forth with all his strength.
With a whimper, the Ironclad Armadillo was lifted into the air before being smashed onto the other side of the ground.
BOOOOOM
With the extreme weight and power of the Ironclad Armadillo’s body, it created a kilometre-wide crater in the earth, it even resembled an abyss.
Tang Yin felt an intense strain in his left arm. The transference of force from the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail strike required precise movement within a fraction of a second. It required the utmost control and precision, yet Tang Yin had managed to pull it off.
The first move he had used to block the Ironclad Armadillo’s tail strike was a simple inside block. However, the follow-up move after the inside block was a complex type of martial art named inside parry. The requirements to use inside parry were stringent and could only be used in special situations, however, this situation was perfect to utilize the move for Tang Yin.
Of course, using inside parry was straining and difficult even for Tang Yin. It made his whole left arm feel numb and strained. He wouldn’t be able to use inside parry within a short while, otherwise, his arm would burst apart in an explosion of blood and gore.
The Ironclad Armadillo struggled fiercely to turn over and return to its feet. However, its current position could be likened to an upside-down turtle.
Suddenly, the Ironclad Armadillo sank into the ground and disappeared underneath the dense layers of earth.
’This must be its burrowing ability.’ Tang Yin frowned, but he did not do anything. Ironclad Armadillos had a stubborn personality, they would never escape from battle unless they were on the brink of death.
He was sure that the Ironclad Armadillo had just burrowed into the earth to regain its balance and positioning, it would return shortly with even more ferocity and hatred.
A few seconds later, the ground rumbled.
BOOM
The Ironclad Armadillo jumped out of the ground right underneath Tang Yin. Its jaws ensnared Tang Yin’s figure before tightly snapping together. It was as if a giant mouth had directly just consumed Tang Yin.
The Ironclad Armadillo opened its jaws again, but there was nothing inside. Its eyes were overflowing with rage and resentment.
Tang Yin appeared a couple hundred metres away, there were a few fading afterimages behind him.
He had naturally sensed the Ironclad Armadillo with his divine sense and had therefore utilized the Phantom Steps to move out of the way in time. The figure that the Ironclad Armadillo had devoured was just an afterimage of the Phantom Steps.
’I’ve gotten an accurate measurement of my current strength. It’s time to bring this battle to an end.’ Tang Yin thought. He could also tell that the old man from the neighbouring Region had heard the loud explosions and sounds of battle from the skirmish between him and the Ironclad Armadillo. It was only a matter of time before his divine sense wandered here in curiosity. Tang Yin wanted to end the battle before this happened, otherwise, his strength would be exposed.
Tang Yin lightly spread out his legs and took a strange stance. He directed his Soul Energy and Abyss Qi towards his throat. The distinct image of a roaring dragon’s head manifested around Tang Yin’s head like a helmet. Devastating Void Roar!
The Ironclad Armadillo was just about to charge towards Tang Yin once again. However, it sensed a strong sense of danger from the roaring dragon’s head. Without hesitation, it curled up into a ball and took its most powerful defensive stance. freewebnøvel.com
A black dot slowly appeared at the mouth of the roaring dragon’s head. The dot slowly became larger until it reached the size of a fist.
WHOOOP
The black dot vanished, replaced by a huge wave of black destruction. The black wave of destruction spread out in a semi-directional manner towards the Ironclad Armadillo.
Everywhere the black wave of destruction passed, everything swiftly turned to dust and nothingness.
BOOOOM
The black wave of destruction instantly crashed into the Ironclad Armadillo, drowning it in pure destruction and chaos.
The world seemed to lose its colour as it turned black, white and grey. Even time seemed to stop for a moment under the mighty power of the Devastating Void Roar.
A moment passed, and the world returned to its original state from the monochromatic state of black and white. Time seemed to continue to pass like normal as if nothing had happened.
However, a 10-kilometre radius in front of Tang Yin had turned to dust. All life, vegetation, grass, soil, etc had turned into a large crater of disintegrating earth except for one spot.
That spot was where the Ironclad Armadillo had been before it was struck by the Devastating Void Roar.
It was miraculously still in one piece, likely due to its otherworldly defensive abilities. However, its armoured shell had been completely obliterated, its body was filled with deep cuts and wounds. It had even lost all of its limbs.
The once powerful Mid-tier Rank 7 Ironclad Armadillo had now been reduced to a sack of injured, rotten flesh. It was barely alive, only hanging on by a thread. If it weren’t for its defensive capabilities, tenacious vitality and armoured shell, no trace of it would even remain.
As for Tang Yin, he was uninjured. But he felt deep fatigue and exhaustion wash over him. Executing the Devastating Void Roar was costly and stressful, even for him. However, its power was devastating. The trade-off was worth it.
