Chapter 190: Persuading the Elder
Tang Yin followed the old man towards someplace on the island. With the duo’s speed, it did not take long to arrive at the old man’s destination.
Tang Yin and the old man were standing before a large building. It was one of the superior buildings on the island. It had all sorts of defences for all sorts of situations.
"Senior, this will be your accommodation whilst you are at the border." The old man stated respectfully.
"The elder of the Autumn Hall is at the centre of the island in the largest building." The old man continued.
"When was the last time the Demonic Beasts attacked?" Tang Yin was not interested in what the old man was explaining. He wanted to kill Demonic Beasts.
"It was 5 days ago. The next attack should be within the next week." The old man responded with precise calculations.
"What was the strength of the last Demonic Beast attack?" Tang Yin questioned again.
"The strongest Demonic Beast in the last wave was a Rank 5 Demonic Beast. It took multiple Qi Transformation Realm Seniors to kill it." The old man continued to answer Tang Yin’s questions with detail and respect.
"Has the elder sent any scouting teams beyond the giant ravine?" Tang Yin asked another vital question. This was his real goal. There would not be enough Demonic Beasts if he waited for each attack. He instead wanted to go over the giant ravine and kill to his heart’s content.
"The elder has sent scouting teams over the giant ravine many times. However, all of them were destroyed and none returned. The elder decided against sending more scouting teams over the giant ravine to save manpower and reduce unnecessary casualties." The old man spoke with a paling expression. Everyone was shocked when not a single scouting team returned.
A glint appeared in Tang Yin’s eyes. He asked a few more questions before sending the old man away.
He then entered the building and spent the rest of the day contemplating his plan to cross the giant ravine to slaughter Demonic Beasts.
The next day, Tang Yin left his lodging and headed for the centre of the island, where the elder was located. He had come up with a small plan.
Once Tang Yin arrived at the largest building on the island, he was shocked.
’Such an extravagant building on a war front.’ Tang Yin thought. The building was colossal and was built with tons of crystals embedded with shining gems.
However, underneath all of these decorations were numerous Array Formations and reinforced defences. Tang Yin could see all of this with the Heaven Piercing Gaze. ƒreewebɳovel.com
There were also two 3rd stage Spirit Vein Condensation Realm guards standing on either side of the building.
Tang Yin landed on the ground and walked towards the gates of the building. The guards did not stop him, they could sense the Qi Transformation Realm aura emanating from his body.
They were only eligible to stop Spirit Vein Condensation Realm cultivators and below from entering the building. Qi Transformation Realm cultivators had a high enough status to seek an audience with the elder.
Once Tang Yin entered the building, he was in a large hall-like interior. There were 4 lavish pillars standing tall in each corner of the building. There was also a vast table sitting at the centre. It took up nearly half of the interior. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
There were numerous luxurious seats around the table, a clear sign that only cultivators of a high enough status were eligible to sit down.
Tang Yin swept his gaze across the hall, he did not spot the elder.
"Bi Lou wishes to seek an audience with the respected elder." Tang Yin wrapped his fist in his palm and bowed with respect. He then announced his name or rather the name of the old woman.
"Speak." An aloof voice reverberated from the large table. Tang Yin looked up, an old man with greying hair appeared at some point in time on the head seat of the table.
"I have heard that the various scouting teams which were sent into the north zone have not returned." Tang Yin spoke.
The old man frowned but did not speak, only waiting for Tang Yin to continue.
"If I were to volunteer myself to head past the border and enter the north zone to inspect the strength of the Demonic Beasts, will I be rewarded by the sect?" A hint of greed flashed past Tang Yin’s eyes before swiftly disappearing. This was part of his act.
This naturally did not escape the eyes of the Elder.
"You are not young anymore. Although the sect will reward you heavily for entering the north zone to do some reconnaissance, the chance of death is equally high. We also need someone of your strength to fight against the Demonic Beasts. It is not worth throwing your life away for some sect contribution points." The Elder sighed before trying to talk Tang Yin out of it.
"Elder, I value my life very highly. I would not throw it away for some sect contribution points. I am confident in my abilities to return alive with precious information." Tang Yin persisted, his expression was full of determination.
"Have you thought this through? Are you sure you want to enter the north zone?" The Elder let out a soft sigh and asked for Tang Yin’s last confirmation.
"Yes, I have! Please allow me to go." Tang Yin stubbornly pleaded.
