Chapter 110: New Discovery

The reason for Tang Yin’s headache was the Heaven Devouring Abyss. Or to be more accurate, the resources he would have to accumulate to replenish the Heaven Devouring Abyss each time he condensed a spirit vein.

Tang Yin could replenish the Heaven Devouring Abyss one more time by devouring the remaining corpses of the Demonic Beasts. However, this would only allow him to condense one more spirit vein. He would have to find another source to replenish the Heaven Devouring Abyss again.

Not only this, the amount of essence of the Heaven Devouring Abyss each spirit vein needed to be condensed increased each and every time. This only increased the quantity of the resources Tang Yin would have to gather to replenish the Heaven Devouring Abyss in the future.

Tang Yin did not think of this at the moment though, he wanted to condense his third spirit vein before thinking of the future. He left the cave abode.

It had only been a couple of hours since Tang Yin entered the cave, yet he walked out within the same day. Xiao Fei who was presiding over the corpses of the Demonic Beasts looked at Tang Yin and surprise crept onto her face, she noticed the slight increase in Tang Yin’s strength.

Tang Yin did not say anything, he only manifested the Heaven Devouring Abyss and devoured the litter of charred corpses of the Demonic Beasts on the ground. With each corpse that was devoured, the Heaven Devouring Abyss grew in size, nearing its peak.

Within a few minutes, the Heaven Devouring Abyss had devoured all of the corpses. But it was not at its original size yet, it needed to devour a bit more to reach its peak. A dark expression was present on Tang Yin’s face as he looked at the Heaven Devouring Abyss. Its appetite was truly insatiable.

Tang Yin held his chin with his hand, he was contemplating very deeply how he should proceed with things turning out as they did.

’Devour, what is the meaning of devour?’ Tang Yin considered.

’I’ve only tried to Devour Spirit Stones and living beings, Spirit Stones contain Qi but are not living beings. Does that mean I can Devour anything containing Qi? If that is the case, then can I not just Devour everything?’ Tang Yin continued being immersed in his thoughts. He was slowly creating his own epiphany.

’Heaven Devouring... Heaven’ Tang Yin inched closer and closer to understanding the Heaven Devouring Abyss as he had never done before.

’If I reverse it, Devouring Heaven’ Tang Yin was struggling, he tried to change his perspective.

’Wait.’ Slight understanding appeared in Tang Yin’s eyes, he snapped out of his thoughts and stared at a piece of scorched wood. He walked towards it. He touched the charcoal of a tree and sent out a command, ’Devour’.

The scorched wood instantly turned into ashes that were swiftly dragged into the abyssal vortex of the Heaven Devouring Abyss, it was devoured! ƒrēewebnovel.com

Tang Yin paid rapt attention to the size of the Heaven Devouring Abyss, ecstasy appeared on his face the next moment. If he did not pay attention, he would not have noticed the Heaven Devouring Abyss growing by a miniscule amount the moment it devoured the scorched wood.

Tang Yin instantly sent out the Heaven Devouring Abyss to its maximum size to shroud the entire area in its black vortex, excluding Xiao Fei.

’Devour everything.’ Tang Yin controlled the Heaven Devouring Abyss to Devour everything it was shrouding.

The scorched earth, trees that had turned into charcoal. Everything swiftly turned into ashes and was sucked into the centre of the Heaven Devouring Abyss before disappearing. The size of the Heaven Devouring Abyss grew until it reached its peak and was even slightly bigger than before.

Tang Yin stopped devouring and what appeared in his sight made him almost cry out in excitement. The earth had turned barren, there were no trees or grass in sight. The earth was decorated by many fissures over its surface, it exuded a sense of death and decay.

The Heaven Devouring Abyss had sucked the earth dry of every nutrient, life force, vitality and basically anything that could be devoured. This even included the faint traces of Qi within heaven and earth which was shrouded by the Heaven Devouring Abyss. Tang Yin saw this clearly using the Heaven Piercing Gaze. He also noticed that when the Heaven Devouring Abyss absorbed the Qi, its size had gotten much bigger compared to when it absorbed anything which did not contain Qi. This meant that the Heaven Devouring Abyss could replenish itself quicker by devouring anything containing Qi.

To confirm he was not dreaming, Tang Yin brought out a Tier 8 Artifact from his storage ring. With a thought, the Artifact shattered and turned into specks of light which were rapidly devoured by the Martial Spirit.

The Heaven Devouring Abyss did not grow anymore after eating the Artifact as it had already reached the highest state it could currently. Only when Tang Yin condensed his third spirit vein would the Heaven Devouring Abyss capacity to grow increase somewhat.

Tang Yin returned to the cave abode in excitement and expectation. This new discovery could solve most of his worries and the problem of replenishing the essence of his Martial Spirit.
